I logged into win xp 32bit on same PC ( its a dual boot xp win7) and it does not crash at all in Arch. So it must be a win7 problem or a 64bit OS problem.0

Would be helpful if people who do have this problem would post their basic system specs (OS, ram amount, videocard, cpu).
Yesterday i tried win 7 again and no crash, i ran thru Arch for an hour doing my inventory management and no crash.
It was not as crowded as the day before though.
Even when its crowded it runs smooth as butter in Arch on win7(until it crashes anyway :P), i assume because of the 8gb ram, because it stutters on the 32bit xp.
I never liked sli, seems more like a source of problems than cheap performance. You dont even save as much anyway and the cheaper cards always tend to give more problems. Its good for the stores though, they sell two cards instead of one.0 -
it's a game what require more from preocessor that from videocards, i have a 450 gts and barley hit 30% usage, but proc goes 100% in archosaur. also try overall spec to minimum, and very low distances on UI panel0

Those running in Vista or Win7 need to set Launcher.exe, Patcher.exe, and elementclient.exe to run with administrator rights in the compatibility mode settings. This fixes the majority of CTD issues, some graphical issues, and (from my experience), reduces rubberbanding for some reason.
Not saying it'll fix everything, but the game client does run a LOT more stable this way.Neither. im on Win7 64bit and i dont get the crash. i just have poor performance with my SLI setup
As stated previously, it's CPU intensive, not GPU intensive. If I remember correctly, the engine is around 10 years old, and it's last serious update was around 2004.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The client does not benefit from SLI. It was designed before we even used multi-core processors on anything other than large server systems. (even then it was just multiple processors, not multiple cores in one.)

Nope that didnt work for me. Today Arch is crowded again and the crashes came back, so its related to that somehow.
Game is perfectly stable otherwise, the only issue is Arch when its really crowded.
Yesterday was less crowded and i had no issue at all.
And wow, the game looks really pretty, better than many new mmos, im surprised the game engine is that old.0 -
With your system specs you shouldn't be having any issues at all. I'm running on a Core2Duo 2.8Ghz with 4GB ram and an old 8800GT 512MB. Win 7 64-bit and never had any issues in west other than the FPS drops to about 12 sometimes.
Your system surpasses mine, you should have no issues in arch, crowded or not. This tells me that there is obviously something on your system that isn't working right. Try doing a clean install of the 280.26 drivers. (Advanced options, and select clean install). Also run the installer as administrator.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

There is nothing on my system that is not working right. Some games (not only pwi) have issues with certain hardware. For example EQ2 was crashing with videocards that had a lot of onboard memory because of a windows limitation, it was not crashing on lower cards.
Rift had a stuttering problem on many systems (including mine) but when i put a gtx 480 instead of the gtx 580 the stuttering was solved. Later they patched the game to address this issue so now it doesnt stutter with the 580 either.
Things are not so simple.
What bugs me is that there is no error report anywhere, windows logs dont show anything unusual, its like the game just shuts down normally by itself.
I even had the system resource monitor running in the background and i didnt see anything unusual there either, temperatures and system loading were normal.0 -
Please send in a ticket to Tech Support with the following information so we can try to figure this out for you. We need you to send us some of your computer's information.
1) What is the make and model number of your computer?
2) Please also tell us whether you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. You can find out in Windows by going here: Start > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System. Then look under System > System Type. It will then display 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating System. Include that info with the info we ask for below.
3) To create a dxdiag log, go to Start, click on Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter. Click on Save All Information as a text file (on your Desktop as an example.
If you are using Vista or 7, go to the Start Menu, click on the Search menu and type dxdiag.exe.
4) Attach the dxdiag.txt that you save to your reply to us.
If you have a 64bit system, please click on the 64bit Dxdiag/DirectX button to save the correct log file.
This is important so that we can do our best to help you.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

It doesnt like me in general... i have disabled SLI removed the Bridge and also tried removing the 2nd card... i get 15 FPS in south arch on low graphical settings....
System:
Amd phenom 2 quad core at 3.6 Ghz
4gb DDR3 ram
2x GTX460
win7 64bit
Also it uses SLI...
It utilizes both cards but only to 15% usage(each)0 -

I still blame win 7 for this, because it reminds me of eq2 back in the day. I have been using dual boot PCs for 5 years now, and i remember EQ2 was working fine under xp, but was very slow under vista.
Things changed after vista sp3, when vista became my os of choice, but before that, vista was pretty much garbage, just like win7 is now.
Im going to install vista 32bit on this pc and use it until win7 becomes a decent os, because right now it is not.
Using win7 right now means spending more time in the tech support forums than playing.0
