Why do you want to use macros again? I've never used them because of the short delay between skills (I can use skills faster by just clicking them/hitting hotkeys), and it makes no sense to use them in any kind of pvp. Pve they don't really make sense because we can't use sutra or triple spark (at least repeating macros).. I just don't really see any reason to use them tbh.

    I second what Adroit said.

In pvp, they're useless because of the pause and inability to spark/sutra but also because anything could happen and you can't be stuck in a middle of a macro when something unexpected comes up. I used to use them for pve and tried to break it and had problems (quite frankly I don't use them so I don't know how to break them. I think you just spam ESC or something).

Anyway, if you feel you must have them, make one that consists of Gush/Pyro for long boss fights...

    I don't like macros either b:laugh

but if you want to try it, here are some thoughts:

PVP wise there are some nice skill combos that you use with essential sutra (you can look it up in this forum as "sutra combos") but you DON'T use it in a macro.

PVE: if you DO questing and grinding you can make macros based on two of the three elements, this could help you fight diferent elemental mobs:

Use a WATER/earth macro on fire mobs, a fire/water macro for earth ones, a EARTH/fire macro for water mobs and finally a FIRE/filler macro for metal mobs.

Unless you need to kite... b:chuckle

I don't really see any advantage on using a single element macro but feel free to try (I don't think you have enough spammable skills either).

Actually you should try diferent stuff and make your own macro/combo and see how it works for you, it's your toon, your game, you know...

(sorry for the basic info, I don't know your level).

    have fun!

Well, ive never used macros until now.
FF is boring so i dont realy pay much attention, so as all bosses are Water element i made a full earth macro
    > Sandstorm . Pitfall . Earth Rain
and then i made a fire and water one
    > Pyro . Divine Pyro . Cronw . Will of the phoenix
and the water one dont work.

now i dont quest anymore , but when i used to i had my macro too.

i only asked this here cuz when i done this macros i wonder myself what macros ppl used to do...

I wouldn't use pitfall or crown of flame at all, let alone in a macro...

A good FC macro is Stone Rain > Sandstorm > Pyro > Stone Rain, etc

now it would be nice if you could macro multiple macros...

    u mean mix macros?

I mean make like 5 SR > SS > pyro macros, and put all of those macros into another macro so that it basically never ends b:pleased

lol you know that arrow that says something about walking behind enemy or w/e? Well in a macro, anything you put after that will repeat unless it gets interrupted (run out of mana/stunned/skill on cd etc) So like when I used to multi, I'd set up a macro on my mage with like undine -> triple spark -> the arrow thing -> pyro -> gush -> stone rain -> pyro -> gush -> sandstorm or something.. whenever I got a chance I'd switch over and hit an mp pot and the macro again (so that it did the undine/triple spark).. but if I didn't have the chi yet or w/e I'd just hit an mp pot and let it continue the whole pyro -> gush -> stone rain -> pyro -> gush -> sandstorm until I hit the macro again (restarting at undine -> triple spark). I can't believe I thought taking my mage along to DD would actually make a difference worth mentioning :( So silly of me.

I actually use macros quite a bit (on my 100 wizzy), especially on the "kill 589 of mob x" quests. (I know, doing quests is old fashion, but it's a matter of principle. It only took me 20 months to get to 100 - with only 1 FC - for the quests ofc) I have one for each element type, each starts with either gush or glacial snare for the slow, then focuses on what the mob is weak to or what does the most damage the fastest if non, wood, or earth. I had one that just repeated the low level skills, until my -chan got too high and it stopped repeating.

The main thing to consider when using the walk behind(repeat) is cooldown time. I would actually write out the chan/cast times in columns and keep a running total to make sure the cooldown for a given skill would be finished before it was time for that skill to repeat.

As was stated above, macros are fine for mundane PVE, even bosses if you have a good barb, but asking to be dead in PVP.

Lastly, the best way I've found to interrupt a macro is to use a mouse click to move a short distance, this will interrupt it as soon as the current skill is finished.

You must really like pve on a mage.. get a mage to 100 by doing quests.. start a new mage to do it all again?

Lol, I'm not that much of a ****. Lord Mot came first, but then my wife start playing, hit lvl 30, got sick of getting pk'd by high level jerks (didn't mind fair fights), so we emigrated to a PVE server.
