What the **** is this?

Hey frankie, if you dont' want the images let me know and I'll even delete them from my photobucket. :P

This is the login page, and apparently they think it's a good idea to have core client launch when your computer does. :P Not much else to see here.

From there core launches to a tutorial. I found it helpful, but it loads a little slow. Could be my connection.

One of the coolest features that this thing is going to have is a chat system. Since I don't know if anyone is actually online and able to chat with me who also has beta, I figured I would show the clients chat from the tutorial. :P It looks like it works similar to face book chat. Also you may notice the toolbar to the right. These launch the game's patcher and let you install other perfect world games if you want. Clicking them appears to show the most recent news items about the game.

One major flaw that I already noticed is that it doesn't seem to be able to get that I already have perfect world installed. LOL fail. :P Clicking the game brings up its news pages, which is kinda nice.

They have a notification tab at the bottom corner letting you instantly know of any and all notifications about the game. These appear in client and in game. It looks like they'll be including sales, which is annoying but it also looks like it will include things like event info, which is awesome.

You can also use shift + tab to bring up a transparent overlay in game, effectively making core client available while in game. Which means you can charge zhen, and possibly chat with people and browse the forums in game. Since it doesn't recognize that I actually have this game installed, I haven't been able to fully test it out for myself yet. But the forum tab is pretty cool in core connect and the user interface is even easier to interact with then before. Which is always a bonus.

All in all I wasn't able to test very much because it doesn't recognize me at all, since there seems to be separate patcher hopefully they'll iron this particular kink out so that it can recognize what games I am playing so I can use the notifications and overlay, and have a reason to add friends, which is kinda the biggest perk of using core connect this way.

Frankie its not reading the Perfect World Client as installed but I am currently logged into the game now. It does However read 2 other games that I have installed.

PW INSTALLED to C:\Games\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International... For those of us that have been playing for a while. Newer ones install somewhere else

Rather than using your account name, you can use the e-mail connected to your account and your account's password.b:victory

nope kritty still uses the Login name for my name and i know for a fact that i have my forum name seperate from my login name.

Done, hopefully other mods follow your lead and we can use it to better community interaction in the forums. :P

ok i just tested this with kritty and it seems it shows my login name to myself but to others it shows my forum name. b:thanks

Not spyware laden at all, well as long as you don't opt in to it. Which the default was off, I believe. I find it fun. Just because I like some pointless addon to the game doesn't mean I'm some mindless sheep. I like fashion too, and that doesn't do anything either. It's nice to be able to possibly have some kind of in game chat messenger that isn't msn, since I hate msn. It'll be nice to be able receive notifications in game so I don't have to use the news article. It will be nice to hit shift +tab and have the forum pulled up while I'm in game so that I can kinda see what's going on in game and still do the forums. It's not necessary and the devs in china could definitely be working on more important things, but that doesn't mean it isn't kinda neat. :P
