Yeh just a sudgestion but.. We all know how anoying it is to try and farm mats like Steel, Iron, Hell mats, things like that. There spread out all over the place some times a great distance apart and when you need 400 Corundrum Powders it takes for ever to get. Expecialy when trying to level your Blacksmith skill an all the others that would need them. So heres my thought to make it a lil easyer to find the mats on the ground, is how about make a hat or helmet that high lights the spot there located on the mini map in the corner with either a colord dot or somthing like pick axe? But somthing of that nature would be nice becuse I think we all can agree that they are anoying to try to get expecialy when it takes days to get what you need becuse your runing all over the place and end up missing some that you need becuse you just dont see it.b:cry

The answer is to drop money into the game and to buy it for a ungodly inflated amount from the boutique.
Alternatively, grind the coin and buy the mats from someone who did all the work farming.
Also, you can use things like the interactive map to get coords for the mat farm locations and set up paths for farming. Or, you can use the Material Data Sheets that I put together to get the coords. I've even got links for PWDatabase on the mob drop items.

Mats respawn in the same spot give or take a few yards. Form a circular farming path that takes you 10 minutes to run so that the mats respawn exactly as you finish and you can start over. Once you do the circuit a couple of times you'll have all the mat spots memorized.

Mat farming is incredibly easy, if you can't make it work the problem is on your end not the game's.

How is mat farming annoying? It's free, it's easy as hell -- you run around and dig stuff. You can't possibly have something gifted to you any easier than that.

What needs to be done is increase the drop rate on the mats you need to kill for. Farming for 2 hours and only getting 4 or 5 mats is just fuxing ridiculous! And I refuse to buy them from cat shops at their OVERLY expensive prices.

OK, you're not willing to put in the effort to either farm the mats yourself or gather the coin to buy from someone else. Solution: Aim for crappier gear. Valuable gear wouldn't be valuable if it took no effort to acquire.

Why not just add them to the item drop-list for goons. Then no one will Ever have to leave FF!:D

Theres a difference between putting in an effort and wasting a whole day for the sake of 10 items if your lucky. I know someone who farmed all night for Hay and all she got was 5 peices.. Unlike some people in here, I have a life outside of the game that is more important so I dont have the time to spend endless hours doing it.

Talk about lazy. 10 items in a whole day? You're not very bright are you?

I can easily farm 80-100 an hour. Anyone with a mount and half a brain can do it.

Then grind money and buy it from people. If you want the easy way out, CS it and buy a cage. Why do people keep thinking everything should be handed to them or made easier? Work for it or buy it outright. There is no other option and frankly, I don't see why there should be. If you play casually, then grind the money casually and buy hay (or buy gold and buy a cage or whatever else you desire).

what about the mats that drop from the monsters? like oils, leather, threads. They drop rate just isnt enough. Im not asking for them to drop with every kill but only getting 3 in 2 hours is just b/s

3 in 2 hours? You're doing something wrong. Mob drop rates drop significantly if you're not close in level. Also different mobs have different drop rates. Research PWdatabase to find your best farming option. Play smarter, not harder.

farming something like hay is different. I keep a level 34 alt that I will use specifically to farm hay from the abysmal mysteries. (best drop rate) and can usually get about 15 hay an hour.

Farming mats from the ground is even easier, in an hour I can get 20 each of the set of 4 that you need to make wine for 69 or 79.

    Play smarter, not harder.b:victory

im a sad case that happens to know all mats location on this game, multiple routes forjust incase some one is farming...blah blah.It just takes time to actually go out on the map and see what it can provide...or go the easy way and spend rl cash..kinda lame to do that when the mat(s) are out in plain view to aquire.

so why not 10? or 100? That would make mats basically worthless. There are actually people that farm herbs/mats to make coins. They can make coins because it's a slow, boring task. If you make that task worthless you remove yet another way for people to make coins without cash shopping.

What I do is .... dig when I take pauses (for my hp/mp to regen). I made my Storage veno active and at lunch she went out, killed, dug and after a week had enough to get all of her skills (except alchemy) to level 3. She got Alchemy to lvl 2.

Now her space is limited, so I do a trade off and let my vendor hold it.

Someone mentioned Hay - well if your not within the correct level range - the % goes down. I use the pwdatabse.com to look up drops, the %, and the lvl needed. It helps me alot.

What I do is during lunch, I do log alts and farm... and pool it together. Over time it adds up. When people are bored they should do the same thing.

It may seem boring but now and tehn you get to see some cool chase scenes related to pk wars, or like once I was in Hell and some gal and me duked it out of a mine (I was there first).

BTW - For the rare times we DO have 2x drops.... does this mean we get 2x when we dig plants/mines?

This pretty much, I did a lot of farming at lower levels, especially around Sirry Wine camp, the route was perfect, do a full circle and mats re-spawn, I blame the fcc and power leveling **** if the OP fails to farm efficiently, or just csed her/his way to the top without any work. Silen also mentioned, there are player-made herb/mat maps to be found on the internet guides.

lol, that was a lot of words to find and correct.
..not to mention the run-on sentence..the made-up word that should be compound but since it is made-up...hooboy...
if your native language is english, may god have mercy on our souls.

and now to answer the topic: i know, why dont you just have 1000 of everything waiting in your bank when you log in each time.

there is also a mats map out there online.

since i farm a lot, maybe my perspective is skewed, but holy ****, that "doodoo" is everywhere. like basically, TOO easy to get.
