Specifically any variation of "WLY.Fail"

For pretty much the entire day, picking up to 6 out of 10 World chats are spamming a gold farming site. Since its several different people (they keep getting banned I suppose) why not just censor their damn website in chat?

I assume that they would just use their endless supply of bling to register 15 different domain names and make spam bots to flood WC, or maybe not.

Its pretty much one of the biggest violations of the ToS I've seen in a while, flooding world chat with a gold/coin buying scam (I mean legitimate business) all day long for I think 2 or 3 days now. Maybe it just seems that long b:shutup

    Could just have a GM play the ****ing game and squelch the accounts b:chuckle

    what if the name of the page is a common used word?

    and what about this

    lets say for example there page is www.dreamweaversanctuary.com

    word gets banned, they can easely so this: www.dream\/\/eaver$anctuary.com

    the PWE staff needs to fill in a lawsuit i guess, but so could we for not getting promised contentb:cute

    b:angryb:angryb:angryJust to let the GM's know since yesterday there have been more than 6 or 7 gold sellers/spammers popping up in the game. I have screenshots of some that started on Saturday, but cannot recall how to post them in the forums or report them to the customer service department.

    I hope the GMs could do something or at least put a 'report gold seller/spammer' button in the game so we can report these idiots as they pop up. I am concerned about the younger players of the game so wrote this statement here.

    Or have a GM work at the weekends to help combat this problem.

    Humm, search the forum for the chat filter fiasco that happened a little while ago...

    Really want more people getting their names screwed because of a bad filter system? (ie, it's a damm list, not an 'intelligent' program).

    far as I know, only thing you can do right now is screenshot, report and cross your fingers. Toes might help too.

    I've been blacklisting everyone who does it, and just when i check back... I think I add about 5 every now and then.

    I made this thread more to bring attention to the issue and not to seriously suggest increased censorship.

    I figured if I gave an obviously flawed suggestion on how to deal with it, that someone would posit an appropriate one. Possibly even someone that works here b:shocked

    The original thread on gold farmers was removed off of the forums a few days ago. I then, created a thread which was promptly locked. I sent a ticket to inform the staff of PWE on the situation. So, I'm sure this thread will be locked as well.

    If PWE wants gold farmers in this game, they can have 'em. I'll quit long before they spam World Chat every two seconds, like other "popular" MMORPGs.

    There has been over 30+ names used via World Chat in the last five days spamming Gold. There ain't a way in hell, I'm going to upload each picture I have of each player spamming World Chat. That's PWE's GM staff jobs, not mine.

    Or, do what other MMO's have done, for customer safety. Block the freaking IP address instead of just banning the accounts...

    PW-CN had high amounts of gold farming back in the day. Don't know if that version still does. It was the reason they gave to players when they nerfed mirage rates on decomposed items.

    If PWE refuses to take any actions, they will loose the game to gold farmers. But instead, the mods want to lock any and all threads related to gold farmers, and resort to tickets/PMs to get it solved. Like... In what world would someone send 30+ screenshots of each person on world and common chat, asking someone to visit a website to buy gold w/ real life cash? They have got to be out of there minds.

    They also reduced the price of DQs to 'combat' gold farmers, while coming up with the DQ points system as compensation for our version...

    ^_^ aye finally a problem complained about thats actually a problem the unfortunate thing about it though is if they block the IP people can just proxy. Even though you will get banned for a proxy they were going to get banned anyway and they will just keep going from proxy to proxy. No this really has to be a player thing personal responsibility and all that since we can already buy gold I don't see a reason why these should exist.

    Well, there's a simply solution for that.

    Nobody should be using public proxies, so just ban public proxy servers, and start banning the proxy services they do use. Simple as that.

    Take it a step further and start putting the ban at the ISP level, so these people can't even access the PWI domain at all, and you start to frustrate them and they start giving up pretty fast.

    The problem comes from when they botnet, it's almost an offshoot of DDoS... You use a Zombie computer to do the account setup and spamming. >_>

    Joe Bloggs will be using any old internet connection available. You really ant to stop anyone using Sky / Plusnet / ComCast / O2 / Virgin or w/e? ISP bans would cause way more hassle than good.

    What they need to do is get one half intelligent GM to just watch all the world and local chat channels and ****ing ban the accounts on the spot without question or explanation.

    I'm pretty sure using a proxy at all is already a bannable offense I could be mistaken. Its kinda one of those things if your using a proxy and aren't doing anything bad well sucks for you then.

    Our Gm's are aware of the issue and they've been working on it for the past few days now.
