PWIC - some words afterwards

Now that I'm back from Beijing I can finally post here again, so I'd like say some words afterwards:
First of all, sorry that we sucked so badly. We had some problems like 4 of our ppl had an 2.5 hours TW before and were a bit exhausted (our own fault I guess), our vent got crashed only like 3 minutes before the first match, Phillipines were able to have a look on our screens during the matches and so on, but I don't want to look for excuses. Our teamplay during the tourny was bad. In the first round we were facing the teams who ended up 3rd and 2nd, but still we should have been able to beat them to procceed. We were one of the favorites as we were the only team who was able to beat China in the practice matches and we weren't able to fulfill the expectations. Lack of coordination was our main problem, a lot went wrong. So sorry for the bad performance.
But then again a lot of things also went wrong from PW's side in general. Here are the biggest problems:
- the qualification tourny for PWI included a timed boss fight. So obviously APS classes were important there to be able to win. But in the PWIC tourny APS classes were kinda useless, they were only able to hit 2.22 aps. China's team had mostly magic classes, with their setup there would have been no chance to win the qualifier in PWI. also BMs and Sins had a hard time stun locking magic classes, as the purify addon on magic weapons gave magic classes an huge advantage. things like that should be clear right from the beginning before the team setup has to be made.
- some confusion about some of the rules: some rules were changed like 5 minutes before the first match. Japan for example didn't even know about this and got disqualified for that reason. Rules have to be clear before the qualifier or at least days/weeks before the PWIC in Beijing. China has to improve their information policy.
- lack of practice time: the practice matches were arranged by Chinese GMs only, so the non-asian teams had some difficulties being online for practice matches because of the time difference. For example: I had to pull an allnighter to be able to take part in some practice matches at least. Not fun if u have to work the next day. The CMs of every country should be able to arrange practice matches whenever they want.
Some of the other teams complained about the same (especially the information policy), so next year it will hopefully be a lot smoother for whatever team goes there then.
But still the whole event was fun and we got a lot of positive feedback from the other teams or their CMs. So even if we did bad in the tourny itself, we tried our best to represent PWI well and I think we were successful there at least. I think we owed this to Frankie and our Chinese contact person who both did a really great job making the time in Beijing more than worthwhile.
I'd like to say thanks for this great experience and a week full of fun and lack of sleep XD :
Thanks go out to:
- PWE in general for giving us the chance to go there
- Steven a.k.a. Frankieraye for doing a great job. - bros for life XD
- Emily, our Chinese contact for the great work and for being an amazing person. - she learnt pretty quickly what sarcasm is and used it well. XD
- Mandy, the Chinese contact of our Jade Dynasty team. - probably the most happy person ever.
- Matt, PWI Operation Manager in Beijing. - he made me eat a lot of strange stuff. :P
- all the others from PWE who have been there like Dean and Josef. - you guys made this trip unforgettable.
- the PWI Jade Dynasty team for being fun ppl to hang around with
- all the other teams and their CMs for being more like friends than rivals
- all of the Chinese PW stuff who did their best to make this trip so amazing
I'll miss all of you...
P.S.: let the trolling begin. XD

No need to apologize. Good job at making it as far as beijing, and winning isn't everything.
Since this was the first international championship for perfect world I can understand why t wasn't as smooth as it could be.
Hopefully next year Lost City Server will be represented in the pwic once again lol0 -

Would be cool if pwi made a few changes, here is what i would suggest.
1. Have anyone who wants to create teams, to be on a team you need 5k+ pk kills or some other criteria. (actually has to have cash shopped over 2 thousand dollars!!!)
2. PWi make fake server and have these teams fight in best of 3 matches, then best of 5 matches at the top of bracket.
It would be more work for gms, but would be funner and fairer.
Ofc i don't envy frankie something like this would be difficult to arrange rules names etc. A year to sort something out though, if pwi is still alive and kicking (Pan Gu willing)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
What matters is that you did your best! This is time to reorganize and prepare for the next time so you can win against the mighty CHINA Btw I missed a few things since I only rejoined afew weeks ago, but how did you guys become finalists for this Beijing competition?[SIGPIC]http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq270/ZeroAngel08/Shinsetsu.jpg[/SIGPIC]

well, I'm sorry and I hope you don't get this personally, but yeah, it's all about winning.
If you go to a tournament to fight with the best of the best, you can bet your shiny 'hind that's ALL about winning.
To quote Ayrton Senna: "In a competition second place is the first loser".
Journey matters when you go site seeing.
Instead of this kind of "journey matters" how about man up and pressure PWI to pressure PWE to have enough info in the next PWIC to get proper team setups to be competitive and proper qualification (lol, really, timing the kill of Harpy as tie breaker? o...m....g) trials that would emulate as much as possible the PWIC finals requirements.
For the guys that went there, well, I hope you enjoyed the trip. Unfortunately because of PWI qualifications requirement/setup you actually lost the tournament before you got in the plane to go to Beijing.
I know it might hurt some ppl here and there, but some things need to be put on the table not to make the same mistakes next time. Pretending now that all was good and fine and trying to look the other way to the fails there were this time will just transform the next PWIC for the american team to another site seeing trip in Beijing. Better make a lottery then, give 6 random trips to China to ppl on the servers. Put some lottery tickets in packs, there u go, you can even make it a free trip from PWI financial point of view.FiveAps - PvE char made from half as.s unbound gear sold by a wizard, doing 18x the damage and 10x the money the wizard was ever capable of. b:laugh . Sad excuse #1 Wow how ever did we kill a boss before aps?
- lack of practice time: the practice matches were arranged by Chinese GMs only, so the non-asian teams had some difficulties being online for practice matches because of the time difference. Sad excuse #2 You have got to be joking. No practice time? Really? So the whole time it took to get to the lvl required to compete can't possibly be counted as practice can it ?

At least you guys had fun over there. We always knew there wasn't a chance the way its all Aps and rank or gtfo over here.0 -

wut you guys get that necklace even tho you didnt won thats some BS if its true100% F2P legit 105 since starting this game. Full rank9 jaded +12 seeker. .tinyurl.com/nocashshopHaters gona hate cuz they cant play a game0 -
If PWI is really interested in winning next year they would add the tournament instance as part of the everyday game. Have weekly mini tournaments but also let any 2 squads go in and battle it out anytime they want.
Get PWE to set the rules in concrete so they can be learned and practiced in the instance everyday, no last second changes at the world starting line.
And remove the land owning faction requirement for teams. There are alot of factions with good high level players that just dont want the problems that come with belonging to TW factions or players just are tired of faction as a whole.0 -

100% agree with this. On Dreamweaver the winning top land owning faction failed at killing Harpy. Just going to show that the best players are not necessarily the ones that tw.0 -
