Attack Utility Charms - why only to Grade 15??

Hi,

I have came upon a severe issue with Attack charms (the little charms that you can manufacture by any Apothecary using Chi stones). Since the beginning of PWI, there have been 16 grades of weapons, the 16th one being Warsoul weapons. Recently, PWI intoduced another G16 weapon - namely the one from Rank 9 set.

More and more people buy Rank 9 weapons for their characters - hoping to have the best damage possible (maybe excluding warsoul weapon). Yet with the mentioned utility charms (the highest one gives +270 [b:shocked] physical or magical attack, depends on which one you manufacture), it is possible to have the damage of Rank 9 with Grade 15 Nirvana weapons which is alot cheaper... Now please answer: doesn't it kill the point of overpaying for Rank 9 if one could buy better gear (with random stats that can turn out even better) for less money/coins? b:surrender

I have informed PW Support about it and received following message:

Please post here if the bug is also troublesome for you (especially rank 9 people). I think it's not fair that we pay so much gold for Rank 9 to be overlooked when it comes to boosting our damage (no matter if physical or magical), particularly because it's 270 damage bonus, equivalent to almost 5 Garnet Gems/Sapphire Gems.     You're ****ing r9. You get like 90 atk levels with the full set + Jones Blessing. Full r9 is gonna outdamage a g15 Nirvy wep with all that. Do you really need more damage?

    Im talking just about weapon. Weapons have attack lvl +30. The price of Ring (required to make weapon) + weap itself is 1.5-2 times the price of G15 nirvana which can have +20 attack lvl as an optional bonus. Add +270 physical/magical damage from the charms and you have a damage equivalent (if not higher) than Rank 9 weapon + you can have additional -interval or -channeling that nirvana weapons can give you.

    Bringing that to my character (Assassin) it means I could switch from Demon to Sage, get 25% more dmg reduction from mobs/bosses and still hit 4 aps with the same damage as rank 9 and have better bonusses than demon sins (for example the famous sage BP). Is that nothing? b:surrender (btw. if sin goes full rank 9 he ends up with ~2 aps).

    Perhaps you should have considered this before you spent 1 bil on the r9 ring and weapon.

    Anyways, you're not including the cost of the REROLLS you will need to get +att level on your nirvana G15 weapon.

    What can I say? I was just 100% sure that the charms don't have upper limits (they were meant to not have upper limits anyways, because when they were created, all the weaps had lvl 13 max)

    Anyways - I am waiting for the Rank 9 weapons users to post here. The posts made by people who use G15 or lower weaps or never used attack charms at all are kinda pointless.

    Why are you calling it a bug when charms have always said they only go up to grade 15?

    They are clearly working as intended. That being said attack charms were designed before there were any g16 weapons in the game so it may well be an oversight that they are incompatible.

    I too was annoyed at first I couldn't use attack charms with my bow but it appeals to my laziness that I don't have to worry about crafting those charms anymore.

    The post made by the person that thinks lvl 10 Apothecary is available in game is pretty
    pointless too.


    Besides that, why do you call it a bug? It's something that has been in game since the start and that hasn't even had any description issues (unlike a crapload of other stuff).

    Trying to understand how you could have been 100% sure they would work on G16 when they all state perfectly clear that upper limit is G15. Did you check into that before spending the cash?

    Anyways... all through the game there is gear where lower grade can be better than next grade up. You go rank you know what you will have. Sometimes it's better to gamble and go other routes for the possibility of better stats.

    I was annoyed at first too, but came to realize that it's actually a perk. With R9 attack charms are "built in" no need to supply your own. One less thing to mess with before TW, I'm perfectly happy with the way they work.
