This is one case in which I think PWE has a good point, though. The target audience of those servers are French and German players. To split the server's populace because English players insist on playing them is wrong.b:shutup

Also, the GMs here don't do anything with the European servers. To have forums hosted here for them would mean taking responsibility for something that isn't their baby, so to speak.

If 50+% of the servers population speaks English, then shouldn't the forums (the actual French/German forums) have English subforums? A lot of Brits and other English Speakers in the EU want to play and get good ping, and let's be honest, if you're in Greece, you are NOT getting a good ping on Sanctuary or Harshlands or Dreamweaver or Raging Tides or Archosaur etc. There SHOULD have been an English EU server at the start of this, PWE is alienating the English Speaking EU community (which OBVIOUSLY is more than 50% of the EU players so far).

Main reason is for the event times. I seriously dont get why they opened french and german servers in french and german. I mean really? Both could have been english servers and this would have worked out pretty much perfectly.

Im going to guesstimate well over 80% of French and German players can speak enough English to get along. Less than 5% of Englich are going to understand French and German.

Theres a reason Indians doing buisness with Japanese companies both speak in English. Its the new Latin, the standard, what every mother ****er speaks.

I did international membership renewal calls to Japan, mostly because (back then) I knew enough Japanese to get through to business men and women (almost exclusively men) if a secretary didn't understand English. I never once had to actually speak Japanese while on one of those calls, and I made around 3,000 of them. (I also did those because I knew enough about the culture to not offend the Japanese I spoke with, social nuances, phone etiquette, etc).

I'll state this plainly. It was silly to open a German and French server in Europe and not an English server. The official 'reasoning' was to 'get a more broad playerbase', which they are actively failing at because of a refusal to acknowledge the majority speaking English.

And wtf, you get better ping across a damn ocean than I get to a server less than 200 miles from my house. >_>

Bahahahaha, you're probably right. Though, I get really awful pings if I try connecting to either EU server, like 2k ms. East Coast servers are around 1k, and I normally get 400 ms to the west coast servers. ;_; 12 meg internet... I might be moving soon though, then I can get Fiber internet and lower pings (hopefully).

This is absolutely ridiculous. If they are going to encourage Europeans to use new European servers so that they will stop complaining about event times here, then they should very well cater to the majority of who would populate those servers, and not just two groups.

If this is how it is going to be, then I think it is only fair to change some event times on these servers for the English speaking Europeans (and other non-German or French people) since they are being alienated from the so-called "European" servers.

And no, I'm not European. I just think this situation is stupid especially since when people complain about event times here, the instant response is "go reroll on the European servers."

ok we get it, this whole "point out the obvious glitch user" is beyond annoying at this point. Just deal with it, if you can't beat em...either join em or shutup. The GM's knows it exists, that's it, you have done your civil duty to make sure people don't out level you. Deal with the fact that glitch's don't get fixed in this game. Obvious glitch user is obvious...so stop stating the god damn obvious.

I am curious though, how active are these servers? I mean at this point, there have been many stereotypical "ima reroll to be a factor" moments already..Raging Tide and Arch are prime examples. But did many go there? Was the better ping really enough to leave your main char's to cash-shop in a more expensive server? I do highly doubt there was a sudden influx of completely new people to PWI but I have been wrong before.

Like I said, just curious.

Personally, I feel as though the French and German players deserved their own servers considering they have had their own website for a very long time. I believe they've had their own clients as well. And I've seen the ridicule they've received for playing on the game prior to the release of the servers because they tend to suck in squads with English players because they just stick to rigid ways of doing things because they can't communicate in squad chat. Which sometimes ended in disaster if what they did wasn't the right thing to do in that situation. And so their gameplay didn't improve as much. But I do feel like since they were given their own versions of the site so they could communicate with each other prior to the release of the servers instead of having to ask questions here just to understand, the EU English people should be given the same courtesy. It wouldn't even need to be a whole other forum, just some sub folders here. And a promise to forward really important issues to the FR/DE GMs since many can't communicate in those languages.
