Does Poison Fang really matter?

So poison fang adds wood damage to your weapon, but how much weapon damage does it really make a difference? And what are the differences between the sage and demon versions?

In the early stages of lvling poison fang plays a not-so-important role in damage dealing. But in the later stages when your weapon attack will start increasing (refines and better weapons) you will start noticing the difference between attacks with and without poison fang. Especially lvl 11 poison fang (40%+ more weapon attack).

Also if you decide to go with fists/claws later on, poison fang will still work and 40% more wep damage at 5.0 aps means that your fire power will almost match that of a claw BM... you know without the skills and all b:surrender

So keep it low if you want as of now but during the later part of the game poison fang can come in handy...

I would think it would give you an edge aganist other has in pvp, as wood damage goes off of elemental resistances, like a sins condensed thorn
Yeah my sig doesn't match my name...i would say im being all clever and trying to confuse people...but im really just too lazy to make a new one

It matters just as much as Axe & Hammer mastery addon damage. When maxed the added damage from Poison Fang is the same as the extra damage you'd get from adding 45 strength. This damage gets added to every attack (besides armageddon) that you make. It was one of my priority skills to level actually, why turn down 'free' damage (the mp cost is negligible compared to the amount of attacks it adds damage to) b:cute It doesn't matter what weapon you use, the added damage is always (percentually) the same.

I don't really understand why there's a question about whether or not to level it to be honest oO Sage is 40% damage for 30 minutes, demon is 50% for 15 minutes. Demon is pretty much better as you can renew it whenever you want (low cooldown).

Every bit of damage helps. I leveld this while I was leveling. In the end, you max every skill, just because you have the spirit to. If your having spirit troubles, I would put buffs, and agro skills (Flesh ream) before it. But i wouldnt dwell about wether, or wether not to level it.

Makes a very significant difference if you go with the fist/claw build.
