PWIm (Perfect World Instant messenger)

Ok this is just an idea to tinker around with, but what if, perfect world had an Instant messenger system? Im not quite sure how much work would be required, or anything of funds, but just imagine:

Servers are down and you want to continue chatting with friends, yes, i know, we could all sign up for skype or yahoo or what ever, or, we could just download a instant messenger that could communicate to our friends.

This could somehow be a separate server, yet can access your ingame friends/guild list on all your characters(possibly accounts), and tell who is online or offline. could be options to hide certain characters from the public, such as catshops or item banks or select one main character to be shown no matter who is logged in.

reason i found this to be needed most is i have 11 characters, all with friends, some do not know others, some dont have room to add others. if you only had to add someone once and see them online no matter what character they are using.

i realize some of this may be flawed thinking, but its a fun idea we could tweak, and maybe change server updates for the better. thoughts, opinions, and suggestions are welcome, but if you are gonna hate, be aware, i dont care b:laugh

    I truly think this is an awesome idea! I would Love chatting with my friends through a PWI messenger! If servers were down, but I needed to stay in contact with my friends about important things coming up, this would be perfect to do so! Thanks for such an awesome Idea, I really hope it turns into something!

    Sounds like a neat idea ^^ However, you should be able to hide characters for only certain people.
    (actually this char was created at first to hide from someone who was on the friends list of my veno... .-.)

    I do like the idea of PWI having a chatting system for the time span of when they are updating; However, I dont think that the people in charge of that area of the game really care whether or not we would like an easier way to chat with our friends on PWI. I would love to have an IM system strictly for the time in which PWI updates but i highly doubt they will put an IM system in for us. If you really want to talk to a specific person or persons, i would assume it would be your own responsibility to get an IM system or chatting system for that purpose.
