I have everything downloaded and i verified and updated all the files and everything but the game still wont work. I click start and after like 15 secs a message pops up, in some weird language. After i click ok, only button to click, it says what i think is an runtime error message, but it goes to fast for me to see it fully. any help?

Make sure that you have at least 10-14GB of free hard drive space.

Please see if any of the information below might help you...

Add the game folder and/or game files (all .exe file types) to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings.

If you still need additional help, please Search our Knowledge Base for the terms mentioned above. Let us know what you tried and what errors you got when you reply to us in a ticket to Tech Support.

    Thanks!

    I have the same problem.
Did a clean install of Win7 and downloaded latest version of PWI.
Checked the firewall was allowing it through, started it as administrator etc...
Nothing I've read on the forum answers the problem.
A screenshot of the pop-up box is here:

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks in advance

Anyone care to post System specs or what OS you are running at least? Firewall/virus/anti-malware software you have running can be helpful too.

If in Vista or Win 7, are you running the three executeables for the client with administrator privileges?

For Smelf.... that looks like the DX3Acceleration error message because it's unable to load the textures or somesuch. After the clean install of your OS, did you download and install the graphic drivers from the manufacturer? Or did you let Windows do it? Try a clean video driver installation from ATI and that should resolve it. If not, check your DxDiag and post the results.
