how to get started

ok ok, i downloaded the game, but nothing ever showed up on the desk top....what happened? do i also have to download the torent download as well, or can it just be the direct download? jade dynasty wasn't so difficult...*sigh*
btw, that's another question of mine, is pwi better than jade dynasty?
and another question...the tideborne race...i seen they can get fins or something, are they permanent, because i was going to be that race, but not if they canstantly have a fin, i'd like to have legs as well.

    =) Welcome to PWI. <.< I've never played JD as it never appealed to me. Also, I've never used the Torent download, as you need to download separate torent software to open it. So I'd stick with the direct download, even if it's a little slower.

    If nothing showed up on the desktop, are you sure that's where it downloaded it to? <.< Not some "downloads" folder somewhere?

    XD The tideborn have legs 99% of the time, that fish transformation is only available in water and only if you want to. It's a skill, that usually comes in handy around level 40-50 or so when you have to fight underwater. It's the same way that Untamed can transform into Tigers and Foxes, based on their respective class. <.<

    lol, and another question, sorry again....i've been reading about this game on wiki ( pwi wiki )...can some characters really fly on here? tht would be nice, because on JD you have to buy your way into flying.

    It took my computer 10 hrs to download PWI so 4 hrs is pretty good don't you think?

    Clerics and archers can fly from beginner levels. Archers however use mana (MP) to fly so probably can't sustain their flight for a long period of time. (Clerics also use MP to fly but their rate of MP 'regeneration' is much higher.)
    From level 30 onwards all classes can fly (comfortably without MP drain) upon completion of a flying quest.

    ok, it still hasn't downloaded completly yet and it's been 15 hours now.....
    so the torent download is not needed, but what does it do?

    ok nevermind, i read some forums about what the torrent does, but i tried to download the torrrent and now it won't let me....i pick the "internet explorer" file and it just doesn't do it...what the hell is wrong? i want to play this today but it's been 15 hours now and the % has been 95% complete all freaking night! how long is this going to take...?!!?!?b:shocked

    As long as it takes your machine to download 4GB.

    And then you'll need to download and apply the patches too.

    oh wow...i wish they would have told me that i had to install enternet explorer 8....i just did that and is now going a lot faster...yay!

    Ah yeah, welcome ^_^ .. even though I am not in a position to say that since I am a junior.

    Downloading my game too as a torrent, basically how it differs from the client download is that you download the game folders as a .torrent file, it may be a faster method, may not but it requires a torrent software for downloading .torrent files and WinRAR for extracting the folders you downloaded.
