What is the orange circled star?

Sorry if this has been answered previously, but I've searched and not found anything in relation to it.
There is a circled, orange star that appears occasionally on the screen and I was wondering what it means. I think it might have something to do with server maintenance, but not sure.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

    Hmm? Where does this icon appear? It sounds like the autopath indicator on the mini map, but you say it appears on the screen so I'm not sure what you mean. A screenshot would be helpful o.o

    It doesn't only appear on the map screen, but also on the normal play screen.
    It's not there right at the moment, so I'll take a screen shot the next time it appears.

    It seems such a small and insignificant thing, but it is driving me crazy because no-one has mentioned what it is in any other threads that I've searched. It follows me everywhere and then disappears without warning. One moment I will be fighting some mutant centipods and then it appears to distract me. Then, once I've gotten used to it, it will disappear and leave me with abandonment issues.

    Before I totally lose my sanity (or what's left of it), can someone please tell me what that orange star is?

    That's the autopath icon. It looks you're experiencing a graphical glitch.

    The same thing happen to me randomly. Not sure what is the cause but it seem placing new auto path destination or opening world map sort kind of fixing it.
