Casuals - What Pets do You Use?

Kowlin, always been one of my favorites, and he's just sexy.

One of those knight thingies. They're L70 in the swamp, but they changed their names now (Headless Horsemen, what a laugh). You can also find them in FB69/89 Brim. They look like Feng from TT2-#. I loved summoning that pet just to freak out the squad for a couple seconds. Worked almost every time.

My snow hare. He's still a good pet even if he's retired.

I've been a casual player for most of my PWI life. I do have a Baby Hercules which I only bought at lvl89 in September 2010 but despite that I still use my other pets because it's not fun using just one or two pets only.

Right now my pet bag is the following:

Celestial Sting lvl89 ( no name) - tamed in eden for ranged pulls, mainly for annoying mobs or mobs that are hard to pull with a non-ranged pet.

Ninetailed Firefox lvl89 ( Alpix [after the ancient greek word for fox; alopix] )- tamed just because it's pretty! It comes with a nice skill set as well and a pretty good attack. It's actually higher than that of the Kowlin's and it has the second best speed in-game (for land pets).

Asgard Plumpfish lvl85 ( sushi ) - used for water mobs, it does pretty good at water bosses,too.

Baby Hercules lvl100 ( Atlas [named after the poor guy that was punished to hold the earth])

Kowlin lvl99 ( Deva ) - my main DDer and puller, I have maxed all the debuff skills and taught it Claw (thanks to a special someone ) to increase its DD power

Shaodu Cub lvl92 ( Dodo ) - which I started using at lvl 70 when I finally managed to tame it x_x it was my trusted tank pet for a long time. I have many sweet memories attached to it and thus I refuse to to give it away. I still use it to tank sometimes for fun. It's cute and adorable. Plus, it's good to have a back up tank, especially since it has Roar and it has saved squads when Hercules couldn't.

Windwalking Piggy lvl84 ( Cupcake ) - my air pet tank, I tried so hard to tame that pet until my best friend managed to do so. I rarely use it now since air mobs are not very common at my level range. Many memories attached to it as well.

Pets I used to use:

Flogling lvl4x ( Froggy ) - which I mostly used with my LA/HA Venomancer experiment. She was tanking mostly so I switched to Kowlin later (called Midnight) for DD power.

Neolithic Wolf lvl7x ( Sunday ) - another pet with attached memories to it. It was a little thing between my friends and I at the time. We had all tamed one and named them after the days of the week. Even some faction members did it later. Too bad all of them have quit so I'm the only one left with the wolf. I have it in my bank and I refuse it throw it away. Maybe I'll put it back in my bag if I max it (right now I have 9 slots). It was my main pet for a long time, until I tamed the Shaodu Cub.

Snow Hare lvl6x ( Puff ) - I remember how hard I tried to tame that little rare pet. It was the coolest thing to have at the time. It was my main pet for a long time.

Antelope Pup lvl6x ( Chisana ) - I thought it was a rare pet at first and bought it from a Catshop XD luckily it wasn't too expensive for my pocket at the time. I absolutely loved this little antelope and I used it a lot along with my Snow Hare. It was the pet I used when I tried to solo FB19 Untamed for the first time at lvl 43. I will never forget how proud I was that day b:chuckle. I don't have her anymore, I wish I had kept her.

Florafang Guard lvl6x ( forgot what name I gave her >.<) - I didn't really use this pet so much. I did like it a lot but I'd usually use my Antelope and later my Wolf.

And a variety of wolf pets throughout my PWI life until I stuck with the Neolithic one.

ehem anyway , My main grinding Pet is Umbra (Dark Wanderer) i also use Prince (frog) he is fun and many laugh with his name. And i use Muffin(my guardian wolf) for runners or luring stuff.

For Air i have Porkchop ( my lvl 53 pig that tanks lvl 76 mobs like pro xD) , Arnold (an molten Ant soldier , fun pet, gift from a very good friend) and i have a plumpfish egg (Bubble) and a big bear egg (Snowdrop) waiting in the bank , if i ever lvl my veno x_x

My pet bag:

Herc (100) - for obvious reasons
Dark Wanderer (97) - TT DD pet for times when I'm not tanking with herc (yep I need to level him to 100...)
Eldergoth Marksman - my original pulling pet (around level 90ish right now)
Cactus from Eden (89) - pulling pet I use when i know it will suicide (and I don't feed the cactus)
Armored bear (97) - used occasionally for his stun + threaten skills
Skatefish (43) - I hate leveling flying pets as you can probably tell from this one's level...
Flying pet from above brim (85) - forgot the name of this one...used in case where skatefish is too low
Plumpfish (82) - water pet...I can't really remember last time I used her tho

I've changed my pet bag around a few times over the course of my veno's life.

My current pets:

Jareth - Gnome Saboteur, I've used him since I first tamed him at lvl 17. Decent DD, nice magic defense, and his nice evasion stat combined with the accuracy debuff of befuddling mist make him a decent physical tank as well. My main pet, I will never get rid of him.

Morrigan - Scorpiontail Voodooist, I only just today finally caught her up to me in lvls(she had been sitting at lvl 50 for the longest time) Her stats are only so-so, but she's a fun pet to use, and she's sexy.

Varuna - Iceprison Wraith, I just added him to my collection, so he's only lvl 21. He has a well-rounded stat growth, and he's really interesting to look at.

Empyrea - Dazzlewing Mothran, my air pet, nice stats, started at lvl 80 so I didn't have to waste weeks and resources grinding her up. Plus she's fun.

I also have a lvl 71 Riverside Tuskmoor named Jimbei, a 61 Tauroc Valorian named Billy, a 62 Bloodthirsty Adalwolf named Logan, and a 60 Eldergoth Marksman named Hank. I use Hank occasionally for pulling purposes, and the rest for the occasional tanking. I have an asgard plumpfish, but I'll be replacing it with one of the two lvl 87 undines when I hit that lvl.

Phys Def: Glacial Walker
Magic Def: Sea-monster Guardian
Water: Abysmal Turtle
Air: Petite Sawfly
Back-up land pet: Armored Bear
They take time to level up but it is worth it. if u don't have the time just get a Glacial Walker at first, than any water/air pets u can at your level.

herc pretty much stays in bag, i find pets to be useless in engame instances as a DD, especially nirvana, since the bosses usually chase the pet when they aoe seal

Current:

Overclocked Mechrab - dd pet, also used him as all-around land pet from ~40 to 80. I replaced pierce with threaten.

Armored Bear - tank pet, though I also use him under circumstances I know my chrab won't survive. I maxed bash on him because of his low atk.

Windwalking Piggy - air pet, have also used to tank a little

Celestial Plumpfish - water pet

Past:

Shallowhirl Tortoise - gave up on leveling that and got plumpfish as soon as I hit 80

Petite Sawfly - found it difficult to level due to it's low hp, and always had my heart set on a piggy. My friend gave me the piggy, and I absolutely love it.

Snowhare - given to me by same friend as piggy. Used the snowhare until I got an antelope pup

Antelope Pup - used as mag def but didn't use much except to tank Hercule Trioc lol so it lost it's spot to my bear.

Land/Main Pet Sable minkii with no nick name because sable minkii is cute enough he has flesh ream bash reflect and howl for now. Despite all the minkii haters he can tank all my bh 39 just fine and hes adorable while he does itb:kiss

i got a celestial plump fish or whichever its called for water (lvl 80 pet) and as far as i can remember, mines still lvl 80 LOL

I like to tame unusual pets just to see what they're like. And I just don't like the looks of most of the popular pets. Long ago I accepted that I would never really be able to rely on my pets to take damage or hold aggro the way most venos do. I add skills to the pets I end up liking and keeping.

I've cycled through a lot of pets, but right now I use these:

Steelhide Grimalkin (can't think of a good name yet): She's a fairly decent tank, moves fast, doesn't require a lot of healing, does moderate damage. For soloing, she is the pet I use most.

Weeping Scorpion Queen (squeakie): She's bright red! High damage but requires more healing. In a squad I tend to use her, since I usually end up with high-levels in squad and my pet wouldn't have a prayer of holding aggro, so I might as well go for supplemental damage.

Snow Hare (bunicula): I use her on magic mobs or for luring. But mostly I keep her because she was a gift from a friend who no longer plays.

Cloud Skatefish (nimbus): Air pet. Pretty squishy but good at doing damage. And just so cute I smile whenever I see her.

Wicked Teeth: Water pet. I tamed him mostly because I can't stand turtles. He's pretty tough, especially considering I usually set him on mobs well above his own level.

A guildmate gave me a Kowlin that I use sometimes, but so far I haven't found much that he's good at.

Just for fun, I try to tame one of every scorpion, cat, and canid in the game to compare them. The interesting thing is that all scorpions seem to be essentially the same (assuming you bring them to the same level) but the cats have a huge variety of different stat profiles. Wolves all seem to be generalists with no particular strong or weak points. The other canids are more interesting and varied. I used a Mastiff of the Great Divide as a tank on magic mobs for quite a while.

I remember you from shadou cub cub spawn land when we were both like lil noob venos. Stupid VenomMatron always got them b:cry .... I eventually quit veno and made a sin becuz i cudnt catch a dam shadou cub ... I still want one b:sad

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the Cuddy Pup. Ok his base stats are so so, but leveled to 90 and with maxed Bash and Flesh Ream, I've been able to take out lvl 95 mobs easily. (oh and it is fun to see the WTF reaction in duels when the tiny puppy takes out my opponent)

Besides it is so cute how fast and little he is. I mainly use him to lure in dungeons, since I do have a Herc.

I'm also starting to play around with my newly tamed Cactus from Eden for ranged lures and attacks. Amazing how far away from the boss I can be with that Cactus... Celestial something.
