PvP against assassins?

Okay first of all, this isn't a thread trying to convince you that you can wtfpwn those sins. It's very difficult to do that.
So here are a few tips I learned from sheer experience from battling against sins. I'll split it up into two parts, dueling and P.K.
Dueling: 1) If they don't stealth, automatically assume they're going to teleport stun you and go towards stunlock. If that's the case, do a double jump right before it hits 1, and watch them look stoopid.
2) If they do stealth, jump around, it makes their life difficult.
3) Concerning the jumping thing, if they pop you while you're in midair, they're gonna look really, really stoopid, just standing there waiting for you to get down while you're stunned in midair.
4) If they get you in the air just high enough for meelee range, you're doomed. Just go get ice cream while you're in stunlock heaven.
P.K.:
1) VERY IMPORTANT: If you know you're going to go up agaist a sin in 1v1, turn off all the buff filters. As soon as they pop you, use EXPEL on THEM instead of yourself. They're gonna be silenced for 7-9 seconds and immune to physical damage. And last time I checked, we don't do physical damage (except for BT).
2) Unleash hell on them in that 7-9 seconds. At least go for ticking their DN or Charm once.
3) If they forgot Deaden Nerves or it's on cooldown on that moment, they're doomed. Deem yourself the victor, since they're gonna be slept and BT's in the next few seconds unless they have anti-sleep or silence.
4) Sin check every once in a while? Use emberstorm or hailstorm to reveal them. Make sure not to overuse Emberstorm. Nuff Said.
NOTE: This is based on the assumption that the assassin opponent is equally geared or greater.
P.S.: I wrote this while eating cookies. Feel free to comment or troll on them as you please.
P.P.S: This is also based on sin bots. What that means is that you're probably facing a sin that only knows to unleash aps and auto attack, and doesn't really know how to play it. That's about 85% of the assassin population. b:laugh
Thanks for reading.

I stopped reading there. Every sin that isnt brain damaged keeps their filter on so they can't be expelled.0 -

same. A sin that is too stupid to turn on their buff filter isn't much of a threat anyway.Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Hahaha your server must actually have non-braindead sins then. I've only come across one sin that I can't expel due to his neutal buff filter on."I would say that the worst band ever, Black Eyed Peas, played at the 2011 Superbowl, but I couldn't possibly take that title away from Nickelback"

Best is you expel yourselfe then hope he dont occult you after stun run a bit away during expel is on and kill him. On veno its good to use lucky scrab and then ironwood kills most sins and if that dont work use bramble hood(feral concentration or stack it if needed maybe use feral first PS: only good for venos with demon summer sprint or you cant attack sin) and dont stop attacking if he is stupid enough to not go back in stelth. Ou and if you have a nix send it on him as fast as you can sometimes sin kills you and bleed kills him after which is rly funny.^^0

Please don't listen to him. Our server does have stupid sins that can be expeled like any other, but he doesn't fight any good sins. As far as I know he's not even in a TW fac.
Plus you shoulda known he has no idea what he's talking about when he labeled dueling with sins as PvP0 -

if you are a mage and you are trying to kill a sin, make sure you have a good genie, like my genie is set up as follows
badge of courage
fortify
wind shield
extreme poison
and spark
when they stun you badge of courage, shrink away and follow that with a seal, hit em with a gush then fortify, then hit em with a undine and spark(if your genie has recovered enough) and then a pyrogram, byepasses most sins charms and saves your chi for any other people that might ** with ya0 -

the obvious problem is that after you badge headhunt they can immediately tele stun or occult.. and you are screwed. Or they could just laugh as they resist your fow/undine/spark 50% of the time (66% if sage) and laugh if you get lucky enough to "kill" them once (tick anti death). That is ofc if they give you enough time to react.. getting one shot or dealing enough damage so fast that your charm never even ticks is a fairly regular occurence (at least for me) I'm glad you've seen some success though, although the first time you take on a half decent sin you'll be complaining along with the rest of us.Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Same. You may escape once with badge but using fow undine etc. won't be enough to kill decent sins. And demon distance shrink is 30m in comparison to demon shadow jump (35m).Middle lane, middle lane.. b:shutup0

I ll be speakin on both wizard rank 9+12 vs sin rank 9+12 perspective and from personal experience.
I use genie that have badge, fortify and remove paralize and spark and stats with 100 dex genie.
The idea is to play safe and always try to keep distance. If they shadow jump to you, u quickly distance shrink away from them. If they use Shadow Teleport u use badge and drop. It hard for a sin to get close to you unless you give them the chance. . Shadow Jump got a 15 second cool down, it can be counter with our own distance Shrink 10 second cool down. Shadow teleport got a 3 minutes cool down, it can be counter with badge and a simple drop.
If they open with stun and u are in the air, it easy, u can just badge and drop. Even if they end up catching you with Tackling Slash 9-11second paralize. It okay because now that you drop, u will be taking 50% damage. Usually when this happen, normal hp pot and can outheal it. However if they end up using Wolf Emblem, ep,tangling mire, wind shield or anything to increase their damage.(or triple spark) Even at 50% reduction, you wont be able to tank. Best thing to do in this situation is to depend on ur genie, remove paralize. Save your 2 minutes pk pot as last resources, dont use it unless you have to.
What happen if a sin double spark on you in stealth mode? It really depend, what kind of skill they open with. If they open with stun and you are on the ground, usually badge-> distance shrink -> fortify to resist their incoming shadow teleport, make sure once u distance shrink, jump into the air quick, dont waste any second. You can always badge, jump up 2 times in the air and get on ur fly. The idea is to keep distance. As long as you are able to keep distance, your chance of winning is improving.
That just some basic strategy how to avoid sin and lock up by a sin, now let look at how can you can kill a sin.
With more and more pratice on keepin distance with sin, the fight can last longer than 3 minutes to even 15-20 minutes.
There are a few way you can end a sin. If the sin got tidal protect on and they are close to you, dont use fow. Only use Fow at a distance, if it fail, u can always drop and get out of harm. So here are some of the basic move that work and I m still using.
My favourite move are, when i know the sin is flying toward me , fow, if it work, spark -> wotp -> distance shrink, and use pyrogram to finish sin off. First wotp will 1 shot the sin, deactive sin(Deaden Nerves) and the 2nd shot from pyrogram will end the fight.
If the sin have high hp, using undine + spark and any fire spell, ur damage will improve by a few k, if it not enough, can always add EP in.
Another move i usually use is, stay in the air but also close enough to the ground. Drop down, and sultra.
Another move i try not to use unless i have to, usually use vs very good sin and that got high refine with defence level would be to wear their genie out and wait for their tidal protection to be off. That mean go and take some risk, usually allow myself to drop and get caught in their Tackling Stash and stun lock. sin will not have enough damage to kill u during 50% reduction so they will use genie skill like ep, wind shield and tangling mire and try to finish you. Usually with a 100 dex genie, you will escape 9 out of 10 time with badge and remove paralize and 2 minutes pot. The idea here is to just toy around with them and make them use up their genie energy therefore they cannot domain. If they have Deaden Nerves on and they fortify, just gotta cancel ur mountain seize, use fow, sulta -> spark and fire combo, before fow wear out, if the sin still live, distance shrink and do 1 last spell and drop. Most of the time they will die, unless they pot or drop
or
After they shadow jump, distance shrink away, use mountain seize and they will either domain or pot or drop. remember dont allow mountain seize to channel, the idea here is just to make them use up their pot or genie skill, remember to cancel it, dont waste ur 2 spark. Make sure their shadow teleport is in cool down first before u attempt to do this.
Wait for the moment for their Tidal protection to wear off. The moment you see it off, sleep, mountain seize and finish them off.
There is many way for a sin to kill you, and many way for you to kill a sin. A good sin vs a good wizard, with equal gear, most of the time the sin will end up winning, but sometime the wizard will win too. How skillful the player make a huge difference.
Just a note, the moment your genie reach below 75 energy, you should kite until ur genie regain energy, why? Remove paralize and badge require 75 energy, if u ever got caught in 9-11 second paralize or 5-6 second stun, you will be dead unless you got caught after you drop.A crit from Archer usually hurt but a crit from wiz usually mean death.0 -

that's some good stuff, makes me sad I never had the gear to try things like that out (not much you can do when you get one shot out of stealth.. with a pdef charm active.. lawl) Now with all that said, do u think sins are balanced at true end game.. or like the vid where you fought cheze.. a sin that's really on top of their game still has the advantage? The video of me vs cheze was a while ago, I think i just started pvpin with wiz during the time those video were made. Every time when I watch that video, I feel like a noob. b:surrender
Cheze and rinc are good they know what they are doing. 1 vs 1 rinc before and I lost. I die from twice from his zerg crit, powerful crit. I only fight 2 DPH sin so far, Identical and Rinc and only a few time so there isnt a lots accurate info I can give. But the good thing fighting DPH sin is that u can use physical charm and they work pretty well.
Well usually I dont have problem with sin in stealth, usually they stealth and attack and fail, they go back into stealth. Usually the best thing to do here is just fly around. If you keep on moving on your flying mount, they can Shadow Jump but they wont be able to touch you because you will be too far for their melee reach. The only way for them to get you is Shadow Teleport or unless all the sudden you just stop in 1 place. Well if they ever Shadow Teleport you, just badge and drop. I cant really explain how to fight sin because every sin is a different player sitting behind their computer.
Well when u shard ur gear with josd, it take a while for the sin to kill you. Even if sin double spark and get you in stealth, the defence you have will give a few second to react and get out of harm. Not saying that you will never die but you most likely will not die from regular damage and regular crit, unless you react too slow or dont have enough physi cal defence, defence level and HP. So basicly what I m saying if that, if you gear urself well enough, stealth is no longer a factor. Because most of the time, if u are alert, it not easy to die from a sin that stealth anymore.
You will die most likely from this, for example they stealth, double spark and hit u a few time, u are 50-60% hp and then a zerg crit come along, charm bypass and now you are dead. No time to even react.
You will most likely die from this, if they stun you and badge fail and genie dont have enough energy for expel or domain.
Or even this, distance shrink on cool down, pot on cool down, genie not enough energy, a sin have you lock up with Tackling Slash, only 2 skill left to use, FOw fail, sleep fail, dont even have 1 spark to buy myself 1 second before charm tick. Pretty much dead. I remember running into this kind of situation twice. That why I advice always have over 75 energy on genie.
You will most likely die from this, chatting with people outside of sz and not being alert or just be ko cky and try to tank them.
If just play defensive and have the mouse over the genie and hotkey available for the pot if genie fail. Most of the time, it not that easy to die. To make it even harder to die, get fully buff.
No I dont think Sin are balance at end game. Sure they might not be the best for tw or group pk but a good sin can do tw and can do group pvp too. They got huge advantage over us. They can stealth, can double spark and always be the first 1 to land the attack. But those are not the scary thing, the scary thing is their weapon got Zerg crit proc chance on it. Just imagine ur hp at 50% -60% or 70% and then a zerg crit come and you just drop dead even at max defence. They never run out of chi. They cannot be 1 shot due to Dead Nerves. Tidal Protect resist 50% -66% status effect. They got that buff that receive only 1 damage. They have huge advantage over us. The got a tonns of control skills that can lock us up.
But at the same time we can always build a genie to counter those control skill. It's not 100% effective but so far that the best available option at the moment.A crit from Archer usually hurt but a crit from wiz usually mean death.0 -

Or even this, distance shrink on cool down, pot on cool down, genie not enough energy, a sin have you lock up with Tackling Slash, only 2 skill left to use, FOw fail, sleep fail.
It's not 100% effective but so far that the best available option at the moment.
I really like this post, you've confirmed alot of what I've just assumed about what end game wiz vs sin is like. It's sad that you've put so much time/effort into strategies and ideas to fight sins and yet they still have the advantage. I'd imagine you probably destroy 90% of the sins out there.. but when you find one that is as skilled as you are, they will always have one more trick up their sleeve than you doYoutube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Thanks for the info Questro. Now I have some more strategies to beat a sin if I survive the initial gank, but my issue is usually that the sins kills me out of stealth so quick I don't have to react.
And it sounds like sins even out a little at the OP gears. Like wizards go from having a 5% chance to win against an equa-geared sin to 30% chance to win.0 -
