Ok so recently Ive come to love barbs everything bout them I read forums in n out n out n in, even to there flaws... n doin so has gain me alot of knowledge bout them n how to somewut play them to a I guess good degree, so Ive dueled countless classes sin(throw them back in the water where they belong) cleric veno archer bm (knock there stunlockin a**es out the window), havent dueled a wizard or psy yet hoping to get a chance soon BUT today
finally got a chance to duel a seeker and wooo wow... I saw 9k hp melt b4 my eyes in wut it seemed but pretty sure it wasnt jus 7 hits needless to say I had bout 1k left n got him down to a good 500hp while I had 139 left (knew I was done) I hopped straight on forums to look some info up bout this class n all says is blah cant be r9 blah I cant stun like sins n bm blah
ok with that said I am lvl 79 barb close to 80 n calamity +5 with full lvl 10 or 9 acceracy gems n a psy atk gem misty rings plus 2 n so forth packing bout 10ish life buffed,
my question is, is it goin to always be like that? jus melt away to a physical/magical debuffing machine or is there a way to counter this?
btw the seeker was in faction XPALADINX on lost city server mad respect to him for that duel wish to meet up again soon so if u see this post dude better whisper Yama_Inu gonna be ready for u next time!

I havent fought many seekers yet. And from what ive got, they hurt. They have some serious magical damage in some heavy hitting skills. Thats what you have to fear, and also a few stuns and ranged attacks.
They can debuff your phisical and metal resistance from large range, then use a skill that hits you 4 time in 12seconds with both phisical and metal damage from 8meters distance. That is very painfull b:shocked
I had the chance to fight very few seekers yet, but you just have to know your opponent. Once you discovered how they play everything is easier.
Btw remember that gear also make difference[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

What genie skills do you have? Perhaps using True Emptiness would help you handle his magic attacks easier. Occult Ice would also be good if he's kiting you with his ranged attacks too.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

They would use Quid Pro Quo to put Occult ice back on to you!b:laugh0 -
yea I logged back into game after posting this and had a chance in arch to duel 2 seekers several times 1 seeker lost really quick to me but he was knew player and didnt have the gear to match I literally walked to him the whole duel..... but next seeker challenged me n we had several great fights first fight he stomped me n mean put my face in ground lol but I learned that he was kiting me and using styles that ways long range to bring my hp down.... so 2nd fight went opposite and I stunned him penetrated and slammed brung him down quit a bit he got outta that started kitting and I have yet to build genie skills so cant use genie yet.... so I used bestial onslaught n started winning with that only other time he won was him I started duel to eagerly n forgot my buffs lol... noobish move i know I know... this guy says he owns a lvl 100 bm so I feel like he was a good opponent to be fighting and learning play style of seeker from... thank u all for replying and giving me some information to work with0

The metal/phys defense debuff, along with all of the other defense debuffs seekers have besides the ones that decrease defense lvl work in PvE only.ChrisDaBarb - Raging Tide wrote: »They would use Quid Pro Quo to put Occult ice back on to you!b:laugh
They can't use quid if they're stunned by occult. Basically the same concept as psychic will not being able to purify stun since they can't use it if stunned. .-.
To the OP, you're at a lvl where some of the late blooming classes start to come into their power, the biggest example being wizards. The higher lvl you get you'll find that things will scale differently and sins particularly won't be very easy to fight, because at 10x they can cut through even HA like butter with enough dps, and aps builds are very common at 90+. But your hp will climb a bit as well, so seekers might get easier idk. I don't have the first clue to pvping as a barb, I just recognize some of the skills, which is good enough for fighting them. Seeker kiting ability got weakened a bit after the cc nerf since they can't glitch tele stun so that's good news for you.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Thats good to know, but still that edged blur hits like a truck. I had some though fights cuz ive always fighted r8-vana seekers.VoItaire - Harshlands wrote: »They can't use quid if they're stunned by occult. Actually from occult ice description, it say it just freeze your target. So i assume the seek can transfer that debuff.
I have yet to learn occult ice, cuz my genie atm are just for PVE/chi building purpose. I have to make a new one for PVP use but im low on spiritVoItaire - Harshlands wrote: »To the OP, you're at a lvl where some of the late blooming classes start to come into their power, the biggest example being wizards. And barb is one of those who shine at higer-endgame levels. Especially with the sage-demon skill and the higer refines of endgame gears
Still those wont help you if you dont know how to use your barb against different character[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Nope, occult ice is a stun, it's just different from normal stuns, it has a different icon just like the seeker def lvl buff one, or fortify anti stun one for example. It puts you in a big purple bubble also. It's basically the exact same debuff from the second boss in FC, just without the water dot. I really hate that skill though it's annoying >.> I hate TE too QQ
And yep, end game barbs with a charm can be very frustrating to kill on your own >.>[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

lol ew who genies in a dual XD thats just gross0 -
yeah ur write though seekers can be nasty. ive played both barb and seeker and from ur standpoint id say ur best option is to try and provent him from getting to far away from u. then again this is a pretty even matchup as far as classes go so alot of it just comes down to skill0

And how are they exactly going to channel that skill when they are stunned?9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0 -
Try dueling in tiger (especially if demon) and lead with sunder. It will eat away at their hp while regening yours. Try to time alacrity is crucial.0

Buring 2 sparks right away is not a very smart move...the healing effect is nice tho
But if you have demon sunder is an instant 4k heal, so is kinda waisted...
Tiger is the best option to fight a seeker for the start. With the ones that starts with Edged blur, id recommend to use invoke to counter that insane damage.
During invoke, try to gain back ur chi while attacking. If he kites you is hard, but next time ull use anti stun be4 invoke
After invoke, you could use demon frighten to avoid some dmg and hope for a stun.
Switch to human and go for demon mighty swing, then demon onslaught and demon stomp then again with mighty swing and some demon slam for chi.
Switch back to tiger and use demon sunder + demon devour
Rinse and repeat. Thats kinda how i fight em
Remember that kiting a class that has strong ranged attacks is never a good move.
BTW, cool necro bro[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

what is this? you're second Necro for today?
your on a role bro.
my advise, whilst i do not duel or Pk often
Invoke, beastal rage, holy path can help if they try and run, surf can help, due to the slow effect, i generally then hit devour and stand up, and try stun them.
but you know +1 on your necro abilities man.0
