Turning off world chat

Is it possible to turn off world chat and just get system messages? I have no interest in people's trade messages, that's not why I play. If I need squad help I just ask friends and when that no longer works I'll join a faction. I'm DEFINITELY not interested in people bragging, whining and insulting each other. There must be others like me who just find world chat annoying and irrelevant. Can I turn it off? And if so, how the hell do I do it?

    You can always switch to faction chat... or squad... b:cute

    Hit the little green squares in the bottom left, you can select which types of chat are visible when you are using each chat type.

    Thanks! Just switched to squad chat and checked the 'normal' box so I've got everything I want now (peace and quiet, basically, haha). It's confusing when you're new b:cute
