The winning squad from Harshland, representing the Catalyst faction, defeated Harpy Wraith in 3:30. Unfortunately, the winning squad from Lost City, representing the Tri-Force faction, defeated Harpy Wraith in 3:10. Hence, the overall PWIC-PWI champions are Tri-Force from LC, who will be going on to represent all of PWI in Stage 3 of the overall PWIC tournament, up against the champions from China, US, Russia, Korea, Indonesia, Phillippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Malysia, Taiwan, and Japan.

Opinions: A free-for-all tournament was a bad idea - there was too much room for politics. In Stage 1A, Watchers and Omerta teamed up with Catalyst to quickly take out our squad (starting with our cleric), giving Catalyst an easy win (due to massive gear difference). In Stage 1B, Crimson and Insanity are allies so they quickly took out Valhalla, then stalemated for a bit (I'm not sure if they just stopped or if they actually finished the fight as the spectator's area is too far away to see the entire platform). At least Stage 1C looked clean though. Even though Stage 2 is pretty straightforward, it makes little sense to decide on "PWI's Best PvPers" based on a timed PvE competition. Regardless, was still a good start and looking forward to seeing the Arena properly opened in the future!

For those who are confused, the "International" in "PWIC" refers to international as in between different the servers of different nations, whereas the "International" in "PWI" practically just refers to "North American servers".

Background music are Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Ragan-hen's insert song "Sorairo Days -Tengen Toppa EDITION Lagann-hen-" by Nakagawa Shouko, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann: Guren-hen's Movie theme "Tsuduku Sekai" by Nakagawa Shouko, and Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann insert song "Rap wa Otoko no Tamashii da! Muri wo Too****e Douri wo Kettobasu! Oretachi Gurren-Dan no Theme wo Mimi no Ana Kappojitte yo~ku Kikiyagare! (Short Short Edit)" by Iwasaki Taku. Who the hell do you think we are?

Enjoy!

Its rather unfortunate that you feel we "teamed up" with Omerta and Watchers to take you out as a result of "politics." Our original goal was to take out Watchers, then Omerta, then come back for you in hopes of a decent fight. You can actually see us move towards them until you started charging us and I called for the group to change targets at the beginning of the fight.

From what I saw there was a group of them on the side nuking without anyone touching them, which is why I disengaged KY and moved to them. Id also point out there the ones who finally took out dia.

Regardless, it was still fun however poorly concieved it was. Nice video as always, was looking forward to it all night.

Here's a link to the video I recorded, just so you can see what I saw, not trying to hijack your thread:

I don't think anyone thinks you intentionally coordinated with Watchers. We were hoping to catch your squad between ours and Watchers', but they were stupid and decided to help take out the only team left that they had a chance of beating 6v6.

Most of the people in our squad recently started playing again after being AFK since before R9 came out. Frankly, our gear just wasn't up to par for this at all. We probably would have put up a better fight than Watchers, though.

Wow, wolfbrian held it down like a G, I saw tangling mire, and every imaginable debuff on him, what a G!
I seriously wonder: people who don't RPK, if you play the board game "Sorry!" and you roll the dice so that you land on an opponents piece and send it back to the beginning, do you sincerely apologize and ask everyone if you can have a do-over roll so you can give your victim another chance? It's a god damn game..

Hey in retrospect, is Harpy immune to amp? Also does myriad do anything to Harpy? It has 0 defense (http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/mob/14786), so would a defense decrease affect it? Amp increases damage taken, DG does the same so in theory those should work, but would a debuff have any effect? Also, the herc was standing back there doing nothing :O

What Lig said. "Politics" was the wrong word to apply to our round, but I can't think of the right word to use. My main point was that a free-for-all is just not a good system for tournaments - just see some of the fights on the other servers. I expected a loss against Catalyst (considering the massive gear difference and us being rusty as hell), but it's not the same feeling as actually losing properly in a 6v6.

But what's I'm really more disappointed in is how a timed PvE boss fight is used in Stage 2 to determine the "overall PWI champions". Could the HL Catalyst team win against the LC Tri-Frorce team? Judging by gear, I would say no, but even then, its unfair to not even give that opportunity when it can happen, were the GMs willing to put in a bit of extra effort a month or two ahead when PWIC was first announced.

Due to the distance limitation, the herc actually died long ago, but glitches on my screen. That's a common graphical glitch, which is why a lot of times you see people apparently standing there doing nothing (but they're either dead or moved off screen and my computer did not receive updates fast enough). As for Harpy Wraith, not sure, but I'm pretty sure dragon has no effect on it, nor does armour break or amp (need confirmation). If this is the case, a fist veno would have been ideal.

Herc wasn't standing there lol; It was more or less the lag from Desiree's perspective. Herc died in the first 4M HP down xD and I wasn't really going to stop DDing to heal it ^^

I can honestly say for all the Watcher's members at the tournament that the only faction we specifically went after was Omerta. We saw they were down members and didn't seem to be moving or anything so we went for them. After that we didn't communicate with each other as to who we were attacking and just attacked whoever we felt like. While at times a few of us were attacking the same person, we never actually communicated with one another to attack that person. I'm sure that there will be some people that doubt that, but we went in knowing we had about 0 chance of winning. We were just there to have fun and not take one side over another when it came to Kylin and Catalyst. I personally went after a few Kylin members after Omerta died because they were the closest to me. After I saw that I was doing just about nothing to actaully kill them, I switched over to a few Catalyst members knowing again that I'd never actually be able to do a decent amount of damage to them. I'd actually like to thank Catalyst because if we really were the first target for them, we wouldn't have enjoyed it and had the fun that we did. On behalf of all Watcher's members, thank you Catalyst and Kylin for all the fun yesterday even if we ended up being non factors in the fight.

Oh, and is it true Insanity just stood there after Valala was dead and let Crimson kill them?
It's true only because it was 6 Crimson vs 1 Insanity cleric.

    Sorry, posted from wrong account.
    Deleted and pasting here:
We... umm practiced? Wtf no one tells me anything.

You were offline! Besides, you not being there made the fight more even, so maybe Jon purposly arranged it so you couldn't be there. He's evil, that guy. b:pleased

But, to be a little serious; this whole thing was a joke, lol.
I mean, the idea is nice and it could have been amazing, but idk, PWI found a way to ruin it.
Like, give everyone equal gear, set up the teams 1 vs 1, not a gang bang.

On the Catalyst, Kylin, Watchers and Omerta side it wasn't that bad, but on Crimson/Valala it kinda was.

I would have enjoyed seing Crimson vs Valala in a fair fight. Valala is obviously not going to stand a chance alone. Oh, and is it true Insanity just stood there after Valala was dead and let Crimson kill them?
Now THAT is politics ruining, lol.

I would also have enjoyed seing this based on skill, and not gear. It can't be that impossible to throw on the same gear on everybody, I hear that some other servers did?
It also really sucks that all the servers didn't get to fight each other, instead of some stupid boss.

So basically, I'm really disapointed seing one of the few good, fun ideas I've ever seen in this game become completely butchered by what, lazy GM's?

It's true only because it was 6 Crimson vs 1 Insanity cleric.

Well it's supposed to be 0 of the other guilds left.
Crimson won with one Insanity still alive cause they refused to fight her? Lol.

Yes, we definitely realized we did not have much of a chance to do too much damage, but we did take advantage of Omerta's inactivity by taking them out quickly. After that we just fired at will. I know I specifically targeted Catalyst members in futility. As you can see in the video, I targeted Apologies most of the time in utter vain...Haha...( Thanks for posting the video by the way) Anyway, It was clear that no matter how the factions were mixed up that Catalyst would be the victors. All in all, it was fun to be given the opportunity to partake in the championship.

Thank you all for the fun time.
