Key Configurations

Well, I'm an experience MMO player here. Just a few suggestions on my part and a friends.

We both think this game happens to be great, although we only got to level 3. I liked the aspect of it, and the learning. The one thing that won't be bringing us back is the control schema.

A fully changeable key configuration would be great. Also, being able to change the camera angle with keys rather than a mouse button (laptop users).

It definitely seems like a great game, and I wish I could stay longer, but that lack of key configuration (complete customization), is missing.

Hopefully, if things do change, my friend and I will return. Kudos.

    no offense, but you were only level 3. Just because you couldn't figure out at first doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Try asking in the beginner forums before quitting. :P This is true with most MMOs you're going to find. As it stands you can use a trackpad if you wanna change the camera by holding down the right click button. The same gesture you use to scroll down a page with your trackpad can be used to zoom in and out. Skills can be mapped to the f1 keys and the numeric keyboard. I play this game on a laptop all the time even without a mouse and I have never had a problem. Many people have different setups for their keys and you can in fact change much of the key configuration. If you hit the K (as in keys) key you can change around the keyboard buttons for certain commands. This game has a lot of customization options.

    Well, yess, only level 3. Would have probably gotten further if I were able to changed all the keys to how I play. The laptop thing is a pain in the *** to do, especially while moving. Why not have set intervals that's can be swapped between for the camera?

    As I noted in my post, I said complete customization of all keybindings, not just what were listed in the options menu. I have a high amount of MMOs under my belt, and I find this among the top of most games including the more expensive P2P games.. The controls just lost it for me. The in ability to control the camera and turning of a character really doesn't fit well with my playstyle. If the fix it, I will be back.

    i play on a laptop sometimes myself. and i can manage just fine. don't quit over something as small as this. your an experanced MMO player, you can adapt to a situaltion like this........or spend 20$ to buy a mouse

    Lagging has been a huge issues. I really hope you can add something that can prevent lag issues. There's also lag issues in almost every city in perfect world. There's gotta be a way to have all cities to run at the same speed in fps or frames per second. Second, the login/ logout speed has been extremely slow. I hope there's a fix for this. I really do love this game, because it's free to play. I really hope that you come out with expansions that will fix all the issues listed above.

    Lag is (most of the time) an issue of communication between server and client. This happens from both ends, so don't blame all of your lag on the servers. Also, graphical lag is a huge issue with this game (even I acknowlege this). That is what causes the low fps in places like West Archosaur, where many people are congregated all of the time. Lastly, login/logout speed is mostly based on your connection to the server...meaning that it isn't PWE's problem.b:bye
