(PWpedia also lists various tips on how to earn money from the cube, which i did not include)
this post, again, isn’t written by me…it is merely an updated version of the thread mentioned above (updated mostly with information from PWpedia, among other sources, including myself) just posting it here for easy access (lol who am i kidding…i made this cuz i don’t want to have to open like 3 different guides at the same time, so put it all in the same document and thought it could be posted on forums)
a guide for the Cube of Fate (rooms 1-50 only)
The Cube of Fate is a solo dungeon (shared instance) that you can enter starting at level 40. There are 50 rooms in the puzzle dungeon (the 90+ advanced cube of fate has an additional rooms 51-60) each with its own unique challenge to complete. Once you complete a room's challenge, you will receive a random six sided die that will move you forward throughout the dungeon. The objective is to reach room 50, however if you fail a challenge or are killed along the way (no, rez buffs and scrolls do not work,) you will respawn back in room 1 with the option to either exit the Cube, or start the puzzle all over again.
While the Cube can be very frustrating at times, it can also be very rewarding. You could spend a few million coins and come out empty handed, or you could spend 100k and come out with a few million coins, 20 Mysterious Chips, and over 350,000 XP! It's completely random, though patience and persistence will certainly help.
You can only do this quest once per day (well, on the days you can afford it,) unless you have a CoF director’s letter, which will allow you one additional puzzle cube when used.
so, i present you with
CUBE OF FATE GUIDE
(STOLEN FROM VARIOUS OTHER SOURCES PRESENTED IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF A HUMBLE 9x CLERIC)
oversized fonts...woohoo
Requirements
* Level 40+ to enter
* 1 Duty Badge, which you can get once per day from the Adventure Assistants/Khatru Pup in each of the 6 major cities
* Dice tickets. You can exchange mirage celestones for dice tickets in a pinch, but that is an extremely expensive option and should only be used as a last resort. So don’t forget your dice tickets prior to entering cube! (i make mine from mysterious chips, if there is an easy way to obtain them in bulk please do inform me b:surrender)
*Do-all cards. i make mine using Tokens of Luck. Certain rooms will pit a very difficult challenge against you, some of those can be bypassed using a do-all card. It is possible to do the cube without any, but that requires luck, extreme patience, and even skill
* Money. Several rooms require 100-200k coins to pass, although usually you are given a chance to win additional coins back
* Patience. Some days it's going to be really easy, and some days it will be impossible to finish. Understand that going in, the Cube is completely random
Rewards
* EXP! At level 70-79, it's worth 350,000 exp and 70,000 spirit IF you reach room 50, at 80+ it's 400k/80k. 90+ gets 1,000,000 exp and 230,000 spirit
* Money. Several rooms have a chance to win either 1 million or 5 million coins
* Mysterious Chips. Up to 20 per run (5 per room, 4 chip rooms), can be traded for Legendary Molds at the Mysterious Vendor in Thousand Streams City
* ??????. At 80+ you get a chance to enter the Cube Lottery, but it's still not translated into English, so I'm unsure what the rewards are though database sites do show some legendary gear that comes from the lottery (i do read Chinese, Klanth didn’t apparently, but since i’ve never been entered in the Cube Lottery i cannot provide information on this topic either)
* Pages of Fate. At level 90+, you get pages that you can trade for your Demon/Sage skill books…30 books to make a skill, to see what skills can be made here’s the link to pwdatabase: http://www.pwdatabase.com/items/19004
Challenge Rooms
Click below for a video guide on the rooms. Credit to Maiya - Lost City! ^_^
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BBA4F0F1C3B7771C
Good rooms, meh rooms (annoying but doable), rooms that really suck
[1] Fate's Beginning
Trade your Duty Badge for a Puzzle Cube at the Room 1 Teleport Master
Use the Forge beside him to repair, buy potions, and exchange Mirage Celestones for Dice Tickets
Choose 'Start the Challenge' to exchange your Puzzle Cube and 1 Dice Ticket, for a random die (1-6)
Right click on the die, and you'll move forward that many rooms i.e. if you get a 5 die and you're in room 1, you'll end up in room 6
If you leave the cube with the Puzzle Cube it will disappear and you will not be able to do the cube for that day
yes, this room is PK enabled, but PKing in this room is bannable
(http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=12917661#post12917661)
[2] Chest of Mystery
Open 5 chests for quest items, get a die.
[3] Slaughterhouse
Kill 5 monsters, get a die. Players level 60-69 gets level 65 mobs, 70-79 gets 75, 80-89 gets 85, and 90-105 gets level 95 mobs.
Mobs do not aggro
[4] Mice Bashing
Kill 10 monsters, get a die.
Mobs do not agro
Note: mobs are [?] level but only have 10 hp each so are 1-hit, making this the most popular place to level veno petsi am not going to write a guide about how to level veno pets cuz...well, i'm not a veno
[5] Count the Apples
Count either the red, white, or blue wisps. Choose correctly, get a die.
run into a corner, alt+H, and count...not that difficult, screenie if you must
Cheat sheet copied from PWpedia:
[6] Open Sesame
Kill the boss mob in this room, who does a very weak AOE dmg (50-100 every other seconds)
When he dies a Teleport Master will spawn, talk to him to get a die
The boss will respawn in about 20 seconds, so make it fast and don't AFK on auto attack for too long
[7] Have a Listen
Talk to the butterfly NPC to start the challenge
The goal is to find out which monsters have sound effects, the ones with the fire noise will 1 hit kill you, so turn effect volume on max, slowly approach them until you find the monsters with no sound, and run through them to the other side
Or just cheat and walk through the two mobs on the left wall, this room never changes
[8] Try Your Luck
Costs 100k, open 10 chests and receive either a Sadness Card (sells for 1 coin), or a Ecstasy Card (sells for 1,000,000 coins)
Chances to get an ecstasy card is 10%, and sadness card is 90%
you can choose to sell the box instead (they go for about 2-3 times the price you paid for them) if you have horrible luck
[9] 100 Second Stand
Stay alive for 100 seconds
The mob in the center does AOE dmg, while the moving mobs do weak physical
Run to the corner of the room and kill any monsters that follow you, then just tank the AOE dmg
TIPS COPIED from PWpedia:
[10] Bombs Away!
A time bomb is attached to you and will detonate in 10 minutes
Once you reach the NPC in room 17 (or higher) ask him to diffuse the bomb
If you fail before the bomb goes off, make sure you have the NPC in room 1 diffuse the bomb
[11] Bored ...
Jail room, simply wait 3 minutes and you'll get a die
BE CAREFUL, this room is PK enabled (whether you're blue or not), so don't AFK here
[12] Choices of Fate
Receive a random token, either 1 room back, or 4 rooms forward
Right click to use it like a die
this room is cruel, i've been "bored" 4-5 times in a row before
[13] Squad of Six
Either talk to the NPC while having 5 squad mates in the room, or pay 3 Dice Tickets to bypass the challenge
[14] I Don't Wanna Leave
The objective of this room is to get a die once someone in the room dies, so, you can either wait for someone to enter and then PK them
Or simply get yourself killed and start over at room 1
To kill yourself, run into the corner with the plant mob, which will debuff your HP by 80%, then agro the mob in the middle
Or you can pay 4 do-all cards to bypass this challenge
You may notice that in your quest log it says that “you will be released from the Infighting status after 20 minutes” or something along that line…i’ve tried it and nothing happened, anyone care to explain what is supposed to happen?
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED…duh
[15] Mystical Messenger
First of four rooms where you can get Mysterious Chips (up to 5 per room)
You have 60 seconds to kill as many mobs as you can
You must turn the quest in at the middle NPC before the timer runs out, or you get 0 chips
You can only do the Kill for Thrills quest once per day, in each of the four rooms, for a maximum of 20 Mysterious Chips per run
[16] Fight the Demon
Must kill a very tough mob, only possible with a squad of people in the same room or if you’re a veno
Or you can pay 3 dice tickets to bypass the challenge and get a die
[17] Ecstasy or Sadness
Another chest room, pay 100k, open 10 chests, can either win 1 coin, or 1,000,000 coins
again, odds are: ecstasy 10%, sadness 90%
or sell the box
[18] Not Enough Yet
When you enter, you're given 9 Robber cards, but you need 10 to complete the quest and move on
You can either wait for someone else to come in and give you one of their cards, or
use your Town Portal skill to go back to room 1
There are usually catshops set up selling robber cards in this room, but it’s usually cheaper if you just exchange a do-all card for a robber card with the NPC
[19] Happy Hold-up
Talk to the NPC, get 5 extra Dice Tickets, and a die
[20] Another Choice of Fate
Receive a random token, either 2 rooms back, or 5 rooms forward
Right click to use it like a die
[21] Beast Hunter
Kill 2 mobs in 2 minutes, can be difficult depending on your level (see room 3 for mob levels)
For example, level 70-79 have to kill level 75 mobs, easier at level 79 than at level 70
mobs have an annoying life-leeching attack
[22] Mystical Messenger
Second of four rooms you can get Mysterious Chips in, same challenge, 60 seconds to kill 1-5 mobs
if you fail to make the time limit you will be sent back to room 1
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[23] Real or Fake
Must kill 1 mob, some are weak, most are hard, but all looks the same
kite, use pots, not too difficult
the higher level you are, the more damage the mob deals
THIS ROOM MIGHT BE PK ENABLED (i don’t remember, doing this from memory)
[24] Consequence
Open 5, 20, or 100 chests, get a die
You can change the amount of chests required to complete the challenge, to either 5, 20, or 100 chests
Leave it at 5, otherwise Karma will bite you in the *** ^^
[25] Dragon Gate
Run through the exploding hands, simply wait for them to explode them move through the circle
Reach the opposite corner and talk to the NPC for your die
you can stand in between circles and wait for hands to explode if you must; they won't get you...watch your step though
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[26] Death Judge
Must loot 5 chests, guarded by a mob that will 1 hit kill you
The mob moves very, very slow, so you can have him chase you to the corner of the room
Then run back and loot 2 chests, rinse, repeat
if you have holy path you may even be able to get 3 chests in, but don’t blame me if you took the risk and wasn’t fast enough
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[27] Try to Listen EX
Same as room 7, but this room changes
CHEAT SHEET AND VENO TRICK COPIED FROM PWpedia
cheat sheet:
[28] Count the Apples EX
Same as the first room, count either the red, white, or blue wisps (it's random which one the NPC will ask for)
again, run into a corner, alt+H, screenie
answer key: (i take no credit)
http://dejavoo.omgforum.net/t21-count-the-apples-ex-answersroom-28-cube-of-fate
[29] Slaughterhouse EX
Kill 5 mobs, no time limit, see room 3 for mob level ranges
mobs have a life-leeching attack
[30] 100 Second Stand EX
Stay alive for 100 seconds, the AOE does more damage in this room, fairly easy with an HP charm, follow same tactics as first room
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[31] Mystical Messenger
Third of the four Mysterious Chip rooms
mobs are placed further apart from each other and the NPC in this room
[32] Very Bored
Jail room, simply wait 5 minutes and you'll receive a die
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[33] Monster Trapper
Kill 2 mobs in 2 minutes, again, see room 3 for mob level ranges
mobs have a life-leeching attack
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[34] Steadfast
Same as room 14, either kill another player, or kill yourself and start over. If you do manage to kill another player here, walk along to wall to the opposite corner of the room to avoid agressing the middle ball, and make sure you talk to the NPC twice. The corner mobs only do a debuff which you can relog to clear (once you use the die)
…or just pay 4 do-all cards
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[35] Life Diverged, Again
Receive a random token, either 3 rooms back, or 6 rooms forward
Right click to use it like a die
yes, possible to be sent back to "very bored" multiple times
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[36] Crazy Chest
Loot 10 chests, get a die
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[37] Great Luck
Pay 200,000 coins, get a box with random goodies inside
Can include 3 Mirage Celestones (60%) 10 Dice Tickets (20%) 2 Do-All Cards (14%) ecstasy card (5%, worth 1m) or excitement card (1%, worth 5m)
[38] Dragon Gate EX
Same as room 25, except little insects run around that can 1 hit kill you, need to avoid both them and the exploding hands
yes, you must complete this room for the 4th OHT map b:cry
strategies coped from PWpedia:
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[39] Consequence II
Open 5,20, or 100 chests, get a die
You can change the amount of chests required to complete the challenge, to either 5, 20, or 100 chests
Leave it at 5, otherwise Karma will bite you in the *** ^^
[40] Sadness or Ecstasy
Pay 100,000 coins, open 10 chests, either win 1 coin (98%) or 5,000,000 coins (2%)
like golden boxes, you can choose to sell the platinum box instead of opening it
[41] Squad of Three
Create a squad of 3 players in the same room, or pay 10 Dice Tickets to bypass the challenge
[42] Mystical Messenger
The final Mysterious Chip room, 5 mobs, 60 seconds
if you fail to make the time limit you will be sent back to room 1
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[43] Take Down the Demon
Need a squad to kill these mobs, unless you’re a veno with a herc/high level pet
pay 10 Dice Tickets to bypass the challenge
[44] Bomber Mania
A time bomb is attached to you, must reach room 50 in 10 minutes or less
Talk to the NPC in room 50 to diffuse the bomb
[45] Open sesame...Please?
Same as room 6, kill a boss mob (weak, 100 dmg AOE) that has tons of hit points, takes 10-20 minutes depending on class and level, pray you don't hit the previous room and roll a 1
if that DOES happen, just log out (the timer freezes) and then log back in until someone is there to help you kill it. Should take about 2-5 minutes with 2 people killing him depending on your levels.
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[46] Still not Enough
Same as room 18, get 9 Bully Cards, need 10
Either hope someone comes in and gives you one of theirs, or Town Portal back to room 1 and start over
or use two do-all cards to exchange for a bully card
[47] The Last Stand
Stay alive for 100 seconds, same as the previous two 100 second rooms
Mob in the middle does significatly more AOE dmg (impossible for a 80 Archer apparently, but i’m a cleric hehe)
If you're not a Barbarian or Cleric, just die and start over (or pay 8 do-all cards to bypass)
If you want to try it make sure you have a HP charm, both restoration and HP pots, and possibly damage reduction charms, though I'm not sure if the damage is physical or magic
i could personally do this starting at around level 70 or 80 with a crabmeat or two and a lotta IH spam
try using the glitch found from room 9
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[48] Chest of Memories
Open 15 chests, get a die
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[49] Prize Raid
Have 2 minutes to kill as many mobs as you can, each mob is worth 5000 XP and 1000 Spirit
maximum of 20 mobs
if you fail to make the time limit you will be sent back to room 1, so don’t get greedy
[50] Fate's End
The final room, receive your XP, Spirit, and a reward pack that contains 1 Mirage Celestones, with a 10% chance to get a Badge of Dexterity instead (need 10 to make a Sign of Dexterity, need 1 of each Sign type to get the level 90+ Sage weapons)
at 90+ you will also be given a lottery key that enables you to challenge rooms 51-60, as well as the option to choose the “mysterious cog” instead of the reward pack, note no exp will be rewarded for this option
now what does this cog do? rumor and rudimentary research suggests that if you reach room 60 in a given amount of time, you will be rewarded with a "rotating cog of fate"
30 of these cogs + a few warsoul fragments can be turned into the famed puzzle cube badge (omg there's actually a real way to farm it? ikr...)

TIPS COPIED from PWpedia:
Tips and Strategies
For clerics: (i play a cleric)
1. Stack 3 IHs
2. Talk to the NPC to start challenge
3. Cast Plume Shell
4. Be teleported to the challenge room, use HOLY PATH and run to the corner. (You'll probably grab one roaming mob)
5. Cast IH
6. Kill a mob (They die in 1-3 hits, depending on your level)
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6.
(this is the first 100 second stand room and is the easiest of the 3, so it doesn’t need to be this elaborate, but it will come in handy later on)
For Barbarians:
1. Go in Kitty form.
2. Talk to NPC and teleport in.
3. Run in a circle around the room.
4. Cast tree of protection to heal yourself, and use other healing aids if needed. (roaming mobs too slow to catch up to you).
For Venomancers:
1. Go into fox form.
2. Talk to NPC and teleport in.
3. Run in a circle around the room.
4. Use tree of protection to heal yourself, and use other healing aids if needed. (roaming mobs are too slow to catch up to you).
5. You can also use the fox skill 'leech life' to good effect on the wandering monsters.
Other classes:
1. Cast buffs or whatever that will keep you alive.
2. Talk to NPC to teleport yourself inside
3. Cast HOLY PATH and run to the corner
4. Kill mobs off you.
5. Use anything that keeps you alive.
CENTER MOB BUG TRICK
1. Wait for someone to come inside this room.
2. Let this person teleport inside the room
3. Wait 90-95 seconds
4. Talk to NPC and enter the room
5. Run to corner
6. Kill any mob that attacks you.
What does this do? Well by doing this trick, the room resets the second the other person you waited for leaves the challenge room. Once he leaves the room, the middle mob will stop attacking you, cause it resets the room, as if there is no one in the room. So the only mobs that will hit you will be the adds, and not the center mob. Once you kill the adds, nothing will attack you. This tricks is used for those who can not survive these 100 sec rooms, especially room 47. The only way the middle mob will attack you again, is if a 3rd person enters the room when you're inside to reactivate it.

Veno trick
1. Send pet to attack mob.
2. Don't let pet attack, but halt him when he gets close.
3. If mob kills pet, it can kill you if you're close.
[28] Count the Apples EX
Same as the first room, count either the red, white, or blue wisps (it's random which one the NPC will ask for)
again, run into a corner, alt+H, screenie
answer key: (i take no credit)
http://dejavoo.omgforum.net/t21-count-the-apples-ex-answersroom-28-cube-of-fate
[29] Slaughterhouse EX
Kill 5 mobs, no time limit, see room 3 for mob level ranges
mobs have a life-leeching attack
[30] 100 Second Stand EX
Stay alive for 100 seconds, the AOE does more damage in this room, fairly easy with an HP charm, follow same tactics as first room
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[31] Mystical Messenger
Third of the four Mysterious Chip rooms
mobs are placed further apart from each other and the NPC in this room
[32] Very Bored
Jail room, simply wait 5 minutes and you'll receive a die
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[33] Monster Trapper
Kill 2 mobs in 2 minutes, again, see room 3 for mob level ranges
mobs have a life-leeching attack
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[34] Steadfast
Same as room 14, either kill another player, or kill yourself and start over. If you do manage to kill another player here, walk along to wall to the opposite corner of the room to avoid agressing the middle ball, and make sure you talk to the NPC twice. The corner mobs only do a debuff which you can relog to clear (once you use the die)
…or just pay 4 do-all cards
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[35] Life Diverged, Again
Receive a random token, either 3 rooms back, or 6 rooms forward
Right click to use it like a die
yes, possible to be sent back to "very bored" multiple times
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[36] Crazy Chest
Loot 10 chests, get a die
THIS ROOM IS PK ENABLED
[37] Great Luck
Pay 200,000 coins, get a box with random goodies inside
Can include 3 Mirage Celestones (60%) 10 Dice Tickets (20%) 2 Do-All Cards (14%) ecstasy card (5%, worth 1m) or excitement card (1%, worth 5m)
[38] Dragon Gate EX
Same as room 25, except little insects run around that can 1 hit kill you, need to avoid both them and the exploding hands
yes, you must complete this room for the 4th OHT map b:cry
strategies coped from PWpedia:
Option 1 (the option i personally choose to follow)
You can hug the right wall and go to the corner. To do this, you want to wait at the beginning until you see a bug pass by and go down the right wall. You need to follow the bug down the right wall (sticking close to the wall) while avoiding the hands. Get into the corner; as far into the corner as you can get. The bug will not get you if you are in the corner. Wait for the next bug to pass you by... follow it towards the exit just like you followed the other bug.
Option 2 (i don't have too much luck with this, even with holy path, though it works for some people)
If you have holy path or a speed potion, just run through the middle to the other corner. Hands explode extremely slowly, so you can usually pass them if you don't see a hand in the circle. Also, if you have holy path, you can aggro the bugs, and you'll be too fast for them to catch up or even hit you. If one aggros, go straight for the corner where the NPC is and go as far into it as you can. That usually de-aggros the mobs because it shows you as in another room. Just pan around for incoming bugs and run run run!
30 of these cogs + a few warsoul fragments can be turned into the famed puzzle cube badge (omg there's actually a real way to farm it? ikr...)
ADVANCED CUBE OF FATE GUIDE:

(for hardcore 90+ players)
again, i take no credit for any of the above work, it's just a compilation of all the guides i have found useful, put conveniently into a single post, plus a few addons from my own cube experiences

On the last stand:
The dmg from the mob in the middle can not be reduced by anything, it's system dmg (which is why it doesn't show up in your dmg log)
No defence charms, invoke, or anything help to reduce the dmg (only thing that does work is complete invincibility)9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0 -
[16] Fight the Demon
Must kill a very tough mob, only possible with a squad of people in the same room or if you’re a veno
Or you can pay 3 dice tickets to bypass the challenge and get a die
This is not true.. I can kill it with my 95 cleric. easy as peach pie0 -

Update it pls, room 48 is 15 chests, not 100

Made a long reply and it got cut off..
Anyway, in short :
To the "Cube lottery" part :
There is no "lottery", it just refers to going to room 51-60 and risking getting Lucky game coins that are used to make a neck in a forge in room 1. You get a coin if u reach room 60, and can also get one by beating 5th boss in room 52 or win one in room 54.
You can also go in advanced cube of fate before lvl 90. I think at 80/85 since my cleric at 88 can go. In room 50, at that level, u will have a choice : Reward or Cog. If u take Cog, it is a temporary one and u must reach room 60 in an hour to make it permanent. You will also get no exp/spirit from room 50 if u take the cog choice !! In room 60, you can use those cogs to make a belt (along with some warsoul mats)
I know you were covering rooms 1-50, but I thought that part deserved explanation.Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle0
