This can't be right. With the coming of new servers - new ZEN purchasing system took place with TOTALLY RIDICULOUS exchange rates. In one sentence: why do Europeans pay ZEN 26.3% more expensive than the folks in USA (i.e.) ?!?!?
1000 ZEN in the USA = 10 USD
1000 ZEN in the Europe = 9 EUR
10 USD = 7.1220 EUR (avg)
9 EUR / 7.122 = 1.263 => 9 EUR is 26.3% higher than 7.122 !
Why does this take place?!
And why can't I use Google Checkout to purchase ZEN anymore from Europe whilst the users from USA can still use it?!
b:angry
Why does PWI with every new update has to make things more difficult and awkward?!

The rates for ZEN have not changed since we opened our EU branch in April; the rates established then are the same today.
Since we opened our European office, we are subject to the same operating rules and regulations of all local companies. As a result, people registering from Europe after April must pay in Euros. This is not something that we can change or adjust. We understand this is frustrating, but we must respect the law of the land in order to operate in Europe and provide our games to you.0 -
As a result, people registering from Europe after April must pay in Euros.
The problem is not paying in Euros - since we all have to pay in Euros at the end, because that's the currency of the funds we have in the bank. The checkout system automatically converts the USD into EUR - all good.
But the problem is in the exchange rate between EUR and USD (displayed on your Web site and used by the PWI system). The exchange rate between the EUR and USD must have been set by the PW - because it is in complete discrepancy between the real-life and the PW ZEN purchase Web site.
Whilst in the real life 1 USD is around 0.7122 EUR (check out any relevant Web site), with PWI it's: 1 USD = 9 EUR.
So - in one word: we (people from Europe) are now paying 26% more than the people from the rest of the world (USA primarily). Call it whatever you want - but it's a significant increase of ZEN prices!0 -
I have 2 accounts; one created a long time ago, and another quite recently. If I were to buy 20 gold on both the accounts, I'd end up paying widely differing amounts depending on which account it is. Luckily for me I have an old account, so I could buy what I need on there and trade it to the newer account. Sadly this is not an option for any of the newer players and seems rather... wrong. The prices have never resembled proper exchange rates ever since that EU office was opened.0

I was checking this today, finally decided to upgrade my flyer from the **** i got free in game. I was planning everything right to just buy the 15g flyer for my class and maybe an mount as well but ever since it struck me heard in the head that i'm paying 26% being in europe a freakin lot more than other people buying zen, it's just something plays in my mind to be the donkey. Guess i can't support the game i like this time sorry pwi0

How much you'll pay if you're european depends on the account creation date. You can read more about it here (it's BoI but it's the exact same billing system).

Let's say you want to buy 20 gold
- if you created your account prior to 24/06/2010 you can still pay in $, so those 20 gold will cost you 14,40 euros (I just checked with PayPal)
- but if it's > 24/06/2010 you're forced to pay in euros and the 20 gold will cost you 18 euros
NB: why is it impossible to type the euro symbol??[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
