Possibly messed up my build?

Hey I decided to make a cleric yesterday, for a bit of fun. So far so good! They seem really cool. However, I think I might have messed up my build a bit, or at least maybe its not as good as it could be.
I looked up various guides on how to build a cleric, and one said for damage, go with:
1vit
1str
3mag Every level until level 7.
From level 7 go with:
2str
3mag until level 20.
From level 20, have
1str
4mag. For damage.
So I started doing this, but got a bit messed up with the str and vit stuff in the lower levels, because I forgot to do it from level one, and it all went a bit kaput, so I just decided to do the 1str, 4mag earlier.
What Im asking is, should I have just got with 1str 4mag from level 1? As I have seen OTHER guides saying that is the best build for damage. Basically I've read two different things. I can buy a reset scroll if that helps lol, because I dont really kill stuff fast enough before they hit me, so I get hit a few times, thus bringing down my health a considerable amount.
Sorry for the long winded and possislby confusing post but what I want to know is, would it be worth just getting a reset scroll and doing the 1str 4mag build for MAXIMUM damage and healing capabilites?
Please post your thoughts!

And finally which stats do you have now, to make it more clear?0

The stats I have now are:
9vit
29str
91mag
5dex.
Level 23b:chuckle0 -
Your strength's a bit high but there's a calculation you can use to figure it out.
Your level / 2 + 4 = current str requirement for arcane armor.
(If its an odd number, round it down)
Your lvl = 23, lets say 22.
22 / 2 = 11 + 4 = 15. Your str should be around 15 b:cute
Vit is purely optional, I myself have a comfortable vit of 50. I wouldn't go much higher though some might disagree.
At lvl 101 you need 55 str for higher arcane armor requirements.
Get your mag high now so you don't suffer from weak heals, come BH level.
Hope it helps!0 -
Look, ignore the fricken "x points per x level" nonsense.
Go to a weaponsmith/forge/NPC/pwdatabase that carries the next weapon(s) you want, go to a tailor (or pwdatabase again), look up the strength required for the next armor you'll be getting, and adjust your own points as appropriate. It really isn't this difficult.0 -

Orrr you can do that. Still, you need to pump your mag up a little, healing in bh at the early part of lvl 40 can be a real drag, get a little power into those heals.0 -

Thanks you two. I've looked at your answers and decided to just level it out by doing pure mage, and STR when needed for gears. I think that'll work out better, Ill check out whats needed at the NPCs.
Thanks again!0
