5.0 to R9

So I switched from a 5.0 claw barb to a 4.0 rank 9, was it worth it?

As a 5.0 +10 frist stage nirvana barb to full and rank 9 w/claw

28k hp (tiger) 4k mag res. and 10k(Gxs)/5k (claw) attack at 5.0

    ...why not just use tt99 ha sleeves/boots for the interval 5aps when using fists in pve and change to full r9 for pvp?

    I find in pvp as a barb fists only really work effectively on other barbs.


    fists shud be primary pve weapon, but use 5aps with max interval gears.

    In my opinion, 27k human w/ claws are way to much for PVE purpose.


    THIS is what you should aim for, PVE wise

    i sharded full JoSD (DoD in the cape) for a better overall defence since HP nowadays dont matter that much in PVP against other R9 users. In PVE once you have 15k HP you can tank everything without a cler so...


    Get CoA ring full stats with nice refinement for better m.def and restat 8point more in VIT
    Get p.def ornaments (belt,neck) and get to 3.33/5.0 for pve purpose.

    Archers have wrist and pants that give -int for a total of -0.15int

    Barbs have those 2-int pieces 2...


    BMs and Sins doesnt have any -int piece in r9 set

    but I'm not asking how to keep 5.0 with rank 9 I am asking if going full rank 9 for cata/pvp/hp/def is worth losing the 1.0 with claws!

    Or I was thinking of just shooting for HP and going more of a str/dex build and refining a bit more for hp.

    You have 5 pieces of R9 and getting the 6th piece won't make an aps difference. You'll gain 23 attack levels and some pdef by using the R9 belt, lose 1 def level , some hp, and some mdef. In 1v1 and PvE it'd benefit you more being able to take them down quicker. If we're talking catabarb its a loss since you are slightly less defensive and catabarbs rarely attack.

    Also, if you switch to R9 belt you'll be able to keep the 10 def levels when you switch to fists so its an overall win when using fists.

    As for your question, the difference between 4.0 and 5.0 in pvp as a barb isn't huge. Most barbs rarely pop fists on anyways. The defense gain and attack levels you add to your axes by going R9 makes it worth it.
