So a select few FCC clerics

Thats what happens when the cleric does not have any kind of -% channeling gear / sage skill / spark.
Healing gets easy as long as it's not a ping-pong madness with FA noobs wanting being tanks with no HP/def at all, been there...WTB> -12% channeling BELT or RING pm me with link or mail me ingame HT server, ty.0 -
Well im one of those Clerics that were "Power leveled" but in FCC's it completely Blew me away by how stupid other clerics get. Like instead of Ironhearting AND purifying when needed, they just spam IH thinking the tank will be ok. I think the only Reason i was able to Power Level my Cleric and not **** up the job was because i Studied how the Cleric should do their job. so Basically it all adds up to Personal Reference on how to play.0

Man, no wonder I keep getting spammed with PMs to come for instances.
A little thought though. I like to use both IH and wellspring surge together. I like how wellspring is instant and IH stacks, so it gives a faster boost in health if the tank is getting clobbered.
As for the clerics spamming CB....... I have nothing to say to that. But one cleric I talked to, did say that sometimes he likes to use CB when the tank's health is going lowwwww. Then stack with IHs. Sorta like providing an initial burst before providing HoT.

Thoughts?
Seems pointless unless the rest of the squad needs it...
CHB:
Channel: 3.5 secs
Cast: 1 sec
Heals: 1070 plus 20% of base mattk
SoR:
Channel: 2.5 secs
Cast: 1 sec
Heals: 1230 plus 50% of your base magic attack and an additional 1230 HP over 15 seconds.
---
EDIT: Also CHB costs 120 more mp per cast.

Why does no one use SoR?Proving that not only archers do math since 2009. b:victory

Using CHB to boost the tank's HP when it's low is pointless because of the high channeling time, and the fact that it also costs a lot of mana. SoR is 10 times better imo, since it not only heals a ton of HP instantly, but it also gives an IH effect (and a pdef boost if demon), which helps a lot.
I personally use CHB only in the following situations:
a) a boss/mob that uses an AoE (indeed, it migh be replaced by BB in some situations, but not at the bosses that can knock it down though)
b) 2-3 or more DDs in your range are getting hit (I sometimes just try to wellspring or IH each of them if it's just 2)
c)BB fell down in a situation where AoE healing is needed and I don't have enough chi to put it back yet0 -
One thing i looove is being in a squad with another cleric who thinks his DD capabilities are well above mine and thus refuses to heal. So i just do my job keep the tank and other ninjas alive laughing my *** of at the cleric whos DDing( no debufs at all) thinking hes cool. This is a result of powerlvling. Cleric thinking hes got all the bits yet doesnt debuff the boss once. I would love to see this cleric in action in TT or nirvana0

Reading this makes me miss those ep's i loved to run with in fb's back in the days. They'd have 1-2k hp and most of their gear was from drops, but they'd never let you down! *sniff*--Retired--

LOL. True. Those were the days. I miss the gold prices most though.
TBH, I rarely use SoR. I prefer just sticking to IH. The low channeling and casing time for IH usually means that it becomes stronger than SoR. But then I might try it, and how it works out."Beware of the Queen, she'll nuke our heads off if we don't listen to her. b:surrender" - Devereaux

Because the best use of SoR is when someone has almost no hp and needs a big boost and then a stack started because they're tanking, but it also takes 3.5 seconds to cast which means you wouldn't use it when someone has almost no hp because they'd probably die as you channeled. Wellspring followed by IH beats it 99 times out of 100 and takes about the same time, but then they get a saving surge of heal in half the time.
Best use of SoR is healing someone who has just been rezzed and isn't around combat, like a boss that aoes or randoms, and in that case any heal will do.
I wouldn't mind if SoR was removed from the cleric toolbox because it would keep people from using it at the wrong time. Only real positive aspect of SoR is Demon IH gives a defense boost, so I'd use Demon SoR as a temporary def buff but not a heal.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0 -

Then why not use SoR when when your tank has 30-45% hp left, instead of letting their hp drop till 10% and THEN SoR?
It also depends on the target's hp.If it's some squishy sin with 5k max hp I won't bother to use SoR. Maybe wellspring>IH>SoR for phy def boost. But if it's a barb with 15k+ max hp and he has 5k hp left then why not?0 -

^This.
I would appreciate it if some of the oldschool clerics would explain how to heal 3-3. I tried it once(when i was 96) and got absolutely smashed by emp. In 3-2 i can tank him np but its still a major problem keeping the rest of the squad( LA peeps especially) alive. Any tips??0 -

Well, I personally keep plumeshell up and use defense charms (or dew of star protection) as much as I can. Also, I avoid staying in front of him so, when the random aggro turns to me, I'll know it easier. Not to mention he has a frontal aoe. I try to have an hp charm on or spam potions when he turns towards me (either crab or the ones from the divine quests) and stack IH on myself when I can. When I get that nasty +channeling debuff I use triple spark to get it off myself, then cloud eruption to get some chi back. And if I get that nasty bubble I use ToP to keep myself alive if I didn't get to IH myself before.
As for the DDs, I've been in squads where they were suggested to stay behind the boss or at least on the sides. The ones that listened didn't seem to need heals (unless they got random aggro).
Can't say it's the best way to do it, but it pretty much works for me.

My point was why let it get down to 35%? Stack them, do your cleric things like debuff, purge, move to a defensive position all while letting the stack keep their hp full. Then before stack goes away start stacking againSoira - Raging Tide wrote: »It also depends on the target's hp.If it's some squishy sin with 5k max hp I won't bother to use SoR. I actually used to play 100+ Clerics long long ago... (old school leveled).. so I do know what the ones healing on me are doing wrong. If I make a friendly suggestion, they often have rage quit the squad.
I know I suck at archer, barb and bm > so I avoid making those (cept buffers).
Yeah I don't get the reaction to suggestions either.
I mean we're all human, sometimes we have our "oops" moment. That being said not all of them are egoistic jerks, some are very attentive to suggestions from others. Lets face it, a lot of people have a cleric alt. So just because the other person isn't a cleric, it doesn't mean he/she can't see that you're messing up.
I think the flaws of being a p-leveled cleric becomes magnified by many fold when you team with them in instances. Especially when said cleric also has an ego the size of Russia.0 -
I try my best to do what the tank asks of me because healing the tank is priority, If you cant take commands well or suggestions Don't be a cleric
I have to strongly disagree with the bolded statement. Do what you feel is right. Your job is to keep EVERYONE alive, meaning you have to be pro at multi-tasking. If you're in a squad with mostly sins, you gotta get used to the aggro ping-pong. I agree with the last part of this though since if you do make a mistake, it's best to better yourself, and suggestions are always welcome. I hate getting pissy clerics who don't know how to take a tip since they don't believe me when I say I've played a cleric for 3 years. b:surrender0 -
If we think some clerics are bad, ive met some bloody aweful BMs to go with the clerics. DG before anyone has even sparked, refusing to pull because they might die(98 bm with decent gear and hp to boot)..so the 2 squishys get to do the pull and last but not least, after the squishys rounded up the mobs..no stun or dg so we have to go all out with our weakass AOE to try save the cleric..you know where this ends dont you >.>
As for the cleric..mostly what has been said before ;D0
