R8 for clerics okay/decent/lousy?

Wondering exactly what the title states, I was thinking if sticking my cleric with R8 at 100 would be okay, decent or lousy? I used to aim for R9 but I think that's near impossible for me.

So I was thinking, would an R8, top, bottom, weapon, together with Archangel sleeves and boots be an okay alternative? Of course, it's NOTHING compared to R9, but is that decent damage output?

Would I be able to deal 10k damage at least? ):

    Everything about Rank 8 imo is good but the pants in my opinion. I just think that there are better alternatives such as Nirvana or even the TT90 pants have the better stats.

    There is no reason not to be Rank 8 end game as a Cleric except to get Nirvana (which is much more expensive xD).

    10k dmg on what?

    I went with r8 wep,pants,top,archangel boots,sleeves when i hit 100.

    All of this, exactly. Especially that bit about the pants. TT90 > r8 pants any day. If you want the -3 chan bonus, go with archangel boots. I personally just made a pair of OHT boots with +hp, +vit, and +pdef (way more total hp than the measly +80 or whatever it is on the tt99 ones) and it refined the same.

    Since the forum ate my post:

    To give you an idea of your DD output, I put together some endgame-y weaps at endgame-y refines...

    ★Fate Denial: Godspeed +10 --> 7549-9645

    ★Neon Purgatory +10 (my weapon before I stopped playing) --> 9304-9412, +2% crit

    ★★Sinrabansho +10 --> 9065-10281, +4% crit

    ★★Counter Destiny: Nirvana +10 --> 8969-11394

    ★★Wheel of Light +10 --> 9676-12645, +4% crit

    ★★Glaive of Destiny: Infinity +10 --> 9846-12772

    EDIT: This is from a pure mag (54 str) build and I factored in +mag/+attk weapon adds.

    As you can see, r8 outdamages a +10 CV weap by leaps and bounds. It's comparable to g15 nirvy in terms of damage, even at +10. Though, naturally, if I bump g15 and r8 to +12, then g15 surpasses it by way more due to grade difference. Cost-wise, rank 8 is really the best "bang for your buck," so to speak. That's why it is so popular for casters (and just about every other class). Though, you will look like everyone else when using it, but who cares? :p

    Pretty much as everyone else said...get r8 wep/top/ring and then use tt90/Nirvy pants, tt99 wrists, and then find some good boots. I have a pair of gold Lunar boots, but that's just me.

    10k damage? Hell yeah! I deal 18k - 28k damage to mobs around my lvl, depends on which skill I use (with mag. attack buff) and even more if I attack poison mob. My R8 weapon is only +6. I love R8, mainly for the better heals. It makes my life easier.

    I have an epic 4soc OHT sleeves with -6 chan and cr@pload of extra p.def. OHT is a good choice if you're cheap like me. xD I have a 4soc Boots of Soul Reaper, it's similar to Acrobatic boots and I run slightly faster and it was dirt cheap.

    Not only is rank 8 better, its cheaper than the alternatives. Let's compare prices. For 72 gold, or about 85 million coins, you get a g14 weapon, and g12 top and ring, and you won't use the pants. The wheel of light is comparable to a g15 nirvana weapon, which is 250 raptures... or 500 mil. For just the weapon. The top is comparable to a TT99 top, which is about 30mil, adding in TT90 for the souledge. And the ring is comparable to lunar gold sign of antiquity, which is 35 mil. So pretty much same gear imo, but you could either spend 85 mil, or 565 mil.... take your pick.

    Oh and if you ever want to upgrade to rank 9, you've got most of the rep knocked out already.

    18-28k? Omg, that's awesome! With only +8 too omg, that's freaking awesome, thanks so much for telling me! :D

    I can't wait to AOE grind with that kinda damage ability.

    Thank you for putting that into perspective! Yes, R8 looks really cheap and worth the investment now that you've highlighted the various price and damage comparisons.

    Don't think I can upgrade to r9. Right now I'm struggling to get to 90. 100 seems like a distant dream ALREADY lol. :D

    R8 is a no brainer really at this present point in the game. I personally wouldnt get both the archangel boots and wrists though- not worth it for the -3% chan bonus. There are some nice OHT boots floating around and some equally nice wrists which I would prefer over the HH99 ones.

    Rank 8 pants whilst not amazing are still decent for 1mil. So if you're maybe thinking about skipping HH90 pants and/or you cant find any good ones for a reasonable price later it possibly might be worth considering using them.

    I don't play actively anymore. I started merchanting again just because I was bored and wanted to still talk to some friends. I gave myself the challenge of getting a 5.0 archer for lulz mostly and to have a goal in mind. I gave away all of the cleric's unbound gear too, so he's even more fail than before.

    I said +6, so even better. :P I still AoE grind spiders sometimes, I can easily 1hit them with Tempest (lvl 10). It's fun to watch them die at the same time... unless they have increased life or m.def. xD

    Unfortunately for me, R8 came out after I acquired the full TT99 set... I don't want my gear/weapon to go to waste, so I'm just sticking it out for Nirvana. It gives me a reason to play / something to do anyway so why not. Currently I have Nirvana top (max stats, 2nd recast) and am 100 uncannies away from my bottom 2nd recast. R8 is nice and all and probably endgame for most clerics, but it's just too easy. I probably would have quit by now if I had switched from TT99 to R8.
