Chat Filter Issue - Request for Tickets from Affected Users

Lol wow, that is so simple it's laughable. THIS was delayed because of a server that needed to be brought up? Putting that together must have taken at the most an hour? Hell I probably could have done it if I'd taken the time....

Anyway, thank you for posting that. So far it looks to be working quite well. Nice to know someone around here actually cared enough to try fixing the issue at hand.

So two years ago when I first started playing this game I had the problem that the country of Japan was censored because the word *** was in it. I said at the time that it was more offensive to censor the name of the country just to cover up the derogotory word than to just leave it alone. Apparently you listened because shortly after I said that, perhaps two weeks, you corrected your word filter and I didn't have to type the name of my country of residence as Ja.pan.

And your new word filter screwed it up again. Fix it please. Your oversensitivity, in this case and others, is giving offensive results which is the opposite of what you were shooting for, I think.

In short, the word "***" is offensive, but it is more offensive that "Japan" gets censored because of it.


Edit: Interestingly enough, the word filter on the forums works ok, but the one in game does not. hmm

i m very very upset...cause i cant use my favorite word...yes...i used this in almost every sentence and you took the joy within a day...

It's an effeminate, passive-aggressive way at trying to be an a-hole. The key word is trying. Unfortunately, taking offence to that would be like getting offended at my sisters for being women.

tbh i dont understand why PWI would bother with additional filters since the previous one was neither honored nor enforced. l_Golgatha_l bypasses the filters daily yet he keeps right on spamming.

plus some of the filters are just stupid.
i asked my friend if he was getting treatment for his illness. treatment is filtered.
i referred to the tragedy in Japan but that was also filtered.

OK next time 2x is on for 11 days. Everyone that didnt get name filtered cant speak to anyone or get invited to squads. Wait .. that would mean no one playing the game.

I have never really seen compensation before for anything other than something that effected the entire server. This is unique because it only effects maybe 5% of people. I didn't lose out too much cause I have two chars and was able to do nirvana on my other char. But some people are not so lucky and where they could have farmed 300-600+ unc's, but they possibly didnt even get to go much at all.

That's alot of loss. I don't really know what this compensation could possibly be but I'm almost betting its gonna be non tradeable which means its probably useless. Most of us farm Vana so we can get upgrades. If we get some crappy mount when we already have a mount that goes 11ms its not really helping.

I must admit I find this to be a little disappointing.. After all the trouble caused by the chat filter we are now expected to wait patiently and check the forums repeatedly on the off-chance that Frankie has been told what the compensation will be and has posted the outcome of this whole fiasco... Could you be a little more specific perhaps. Such as; we be announcing the outcome in a week, a month, a year???? or better yet send us an email... This whole ordeal has been very frustrating and other players not affected were less than understanding. If you weren't affected you have no idea how frustrating it was not to be able to get a random squad or receive pm's and the reward for all this is more frustration in the form of watch this thread for an announcement. The moment an announcement is made the thread will be plagued with responses about the compensation offered be it good or bad and we will have to plough through pages of posts just looking for the post. Come on pwi. Haven't you messed with us enough...

If you hit search and then use the advanced search feature you can search this thread only for posts by frankieraye.

So.... How much longer is this gonna take? Are there that many people whose names were screwed with? Or is this just at the very bottom of the priority list? I remember hair issues last year. Was fixed the next day or the day after.

Maybe PWI is just now deciding to 'half-assed' enforce their own rules and its fishing for TOS violators? And alot of people get to pay for it along with the guilty? How bout an amnesty since PWI is clearly not enforcing this same censorship on the chat? I dont know anyone who doesn't use dots and slashes and whatnot to circumvent the filter in chat. Is PWI gonna extend their witch hunt to the chat also?

Either in or out, but halfway censorship doesn't seem like its gonna achieve much.
