Aquaflame Armor

Combines the powers of Fire and Water into a chaotic shield.
Reduces the damage you take by 310% for 10 seconds,
then increases the damage you take by 22% for 10 seconds.

so does that literally mean... unless my enemie uses something like Spark Burst....
for 10 seconds they will basically do no damage to me?

The description on ecatomb is incorrect. Reduce less than 25%, energy consuming and it a very useless skill for wizard. Wind shield is much better.

I'm not sure if its so incorrect. I've seen one mage use this (Spirea) and even though spirea wasn't really good at timing this skill I'm pretty sure the damage reduction on aquaflame was very high. A barbs perdition that usually did 4ks did 500s after aquaflame.

After the 10 seconds were up though he/she got *****.

(I'm remembering this from maybe 2 weeks after genies were implemented in the game so they could have changed it, and I might be wrong)

Dunno how it was the first time, but it definitely is not worth it now. I forget exactly what the numbers were, but lvl 1 was like 11% reduction, and every lvl above that increased the reduction by 1%. Not only does the description say that in game, but I tested with a friend.. was a pretty insignificant dmg reduction.

Tested it for a couple weeks on a 100dex genie. The skill is really NOT worth having on a genie. You might as well use windshield. Then you can run and get a spammable 15% damage reduction. (Not endorsing windshield btw)

Sorry that recovered old thread. Why many wizards use this genie skill in russian pw? I was watching in youtube russian pw and saw that many wizards have this skill. Does they have the same genie skills effect as pwi (about all genie skill tree)?

Actually, watching some of the Russian PK videos, I noticed that the damage increase/reduction debuff icons were at the end of the skill bar, like a barb's turtle, or the cleric 100 skill. I'm wondering if you could stack Aquaflame with wind shield? Though that would be stupid, I'm curious nonetheless.

I was wondering why the russians use it, perhaps there is some hidden effect that we don't know about (either that or they just suck).

maybe with high -chan they are able to kill their opponents during this 10s reduction the problem with the skill is even with high dex genie the dmg increase will still be around 10%

I'd imagine maybe in group pvp it could be usefull w/ a cler that could purify when it switches to increased damage

other than that I don't see a good point in the skill, i mean windshield outclasses it IMO just for its spamability

If memory serves, you can't purify the amp off you.. its treated like a positive buff or something(lol).

I'm sure our new russian "friends" will quickly enlighten us as to why they are using seemingly sub-standard skills. Else they'd likely be seen as noobs. Time will tell?

All of our mages have only full dex genie, with 100-120 dex.
With such dex, all damage will be reduced by ~60%(or more) and increased by only ~20%(or less) for 10 sec.
This time enough to avoid a quick death from multiple opponents,or stun BM/TA,and use your packet of control skills,or go to the further protection, fall from flight, and other action, it`s time which often don`t have enough a many mages.

Just try to use this skill with the genie whose 100 or more DEX,you'll be pleasantly surprised))

ps. sorry for my bad english.

That can't be right you cant get a -60% reduction even with a pure dex genie, or the skill is written wrong because the way the skill reads (at lvl 10):
Combines the powers of Fire and Water into a chaotic shield.
Reduces the damage you take by 20% for 10 seconds,
then increases the damage you take by 20% for 10 seconds.

Dexterity: Every 8 Genie Dexterity points increases the damage reduction by 1%.
Dexterity: Every 8 Genie Dexterity points reduces the damage increase by 1%.

Now for simplicity say your genie has 120 dex, thats an increase in damage reduction by 15%
and a reduction in damage increase by 15%
    Total is
    -35 damage taken
    +5% damage taken

SO even with a genie as you stated you cant get over 35% reduction,
also 5% increase in damage sometimes can be significant depending on your gear

    I dont

I used AquaArm for a little while before I switched to wind shield. TBH it did seem a little glitchy at times. At first I thought it was reacting to fire and water attacks, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Nevertheless, for whatever it does it is not as consistent for me as wind shield, and the debuff sucks.
