yes- there is a code of conduct and some binding contracts that comes with r9, but i can not give anymore information away... once you become r9 you will understand

It's cause no one who spends that much money on R9 gear actually wants a challenge. Fighting another person who does not want a challenge = stupid. Therefore, they buy their **** just to 1-shot people...

Haha the green part is exactly how I see it. It's happened to me before plenty of times too, running out in pk mode to meet some faction mates, and I don't even make it 3 meters out of safe before some r9 sin or something comes out and kills me.
But I have gone out to watch r9 people fight each other, but usually all I see is them killing people in tt99 or lower. >.>

What kills me is all the r9 always crying about not having any kind of challenge. There are tons of other r9s I see in pvp mode why don't you kill them? Surely you will not have a challenge if you only attack people you know you could kill. I notice this a while ago that the good gear people do not attack each other. If they do they always ask for a 1v1 with other r9s instead of randomly attacking, like they do weaker geared people. Thats why I stop pvping, even if I have the money for r9, I play to many other games to spend over 1k on r9 stuff.(not b8tching about cashshoppers) All Im saying is do not cry about not having a challenge when it's all around you. I do see some r9's random attacks other so this is not aimed at all.

R9s from what faction? You need to be more specific on that, because I think it's not R9's, it's just people coincidentally in big factions.

Here's why I think this...during DT, whenever people from bigger factions get together, a lot of times they would group together...they would group together and fight no names.

You would see DT completely empty of any challenge, bunch of people from small guilds swimming out to get chests and getting picked off, and a bunch of say, Regi/Enely/LG swimming together. Just swimming. Doesn't always happen, but in general.

I think it's just because most people from big factions are friends, or friends of friends of friends etc, and don't like to antagonize each other, basically having a big tea party.

The exception is the "big evil" of the server. That used to be Nef, now it's Vind. Vinds will enter DT, very willing to fight everyone, and you would then have big fights in DT...or sort of big fights since not many go to DT in the first place.

You see? What these R9s are waiting for are "big evils." However, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. If you see a bunch of Vind R9s standing around with a bunch of non-Vind R9s in PK mode in one great tea party...well...IDK what I'd say to that...

Vindi r9 and ppl always fight anyone in pk mode most of the time. Sometimes 2 r9 ppl does not fight each other without asking for a 1on1 first is because out of respect. You have to earn that respect from ppl by gearing up and showing skills in pk. Also last time i checked its a PvE server. Nobody's forcing you guys to turn pk and get 1 shot by r9 people. I think it is a lot of the above.

Although I am not often in PK, there are many people that just do not touch or bother me and the people in my squad. Also, there is not a huge habit with picking off lower levels withing the group I would pk with (although it has happened...*cough* accidental aoe *cough*).

I would like to point out though that there are some R9's that do not hit or play worth a damn and therefore it is often Zzzzzzzzzz to even bother fighting.

Overall though I am inclined to agree with Sas in that it has a lot to do with respect and yes, that respect is earned through previous PvP, or however.

It is a hit and miss thing really and the situations can change in terms of being in DT, Blood Theatre, or even the PK Tourney. You hit some and/ot you do not mess with other's. You do not have to be in the "R9 Club" either for any of this to be the case. This situation applies regardless and often it does not matter what Faction you are in.

there are not that many people in pk, most of the time before the fight starts I already "know" who is going to win... normally me, cause my gear is much better and I actually know a bit about the game, though of course there are opponents who i can fight where i am fairly certain i am going to die, quickly x.x, I'm glad they are there though even if its like running my head into the wall it gives me something to try when im feeling suicidal.

also, its mainly the same faces over and over again...

but if my gear was the problem that is something in my control and easily solvable, I carry a nirvana bow, a r8 bow//unrefined r8 armors, a TT90 green bow (donated my tt90green armors), my trusty wind and the clouds, and my archosuar lvl 60 npc gears (x.x no inventory space).

It is honestly more fun fighting less geared people in some random mishmash of gear then my r9. That said when I do kill someone w/ npc 60 xbow, it is amusing, but not really "rewarding" or "fun" because they died not because I did something well, but because they are horrible @ pk, which is fine but frustrating since as I said earlier its the same people... who dont get any better (can think of a few exceptions). so its like .... uh wtf is the point? I only won because my opponent wasn't so good, and doesnt really improve... (sounds arrogant, it is, but also true)

When I do adjust gear to a level thats roughly "fair" and start shooting people alot of them react like "WTFUX Ruvil! I thought you were my friend Q_Q!!!! QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ" omgZ you are a bad bad person because you killed me in pk!! b:cry which is ridiculous...

nobody likes fighting an opponent that don't have a chance against so it makes sense that r9 causes alot of problems for PK. but I dont think it is THE problem as I have pked w/o my r9 or any of my multiple alts and its stills uh... ... ... ._.;;

i suggest TT90 pk fest, no jones, buy mats from my shop too plz b:dirty o wait i dunt have one b:sad

Lol... I still LOL @ R9ers thinking they are so pro when they can't one shot people when they think they can b:laugh

I suppose us few rank8s left either can't afford it for now and/or like the challenge. I'm still deciding what to do atm but am working on defenses since I've noticed if you're not full JosD Rank 9, you will still die to a rank 8. Most people don't work on their defense so it's very glass cannon scenarios running around. lol I shouldn't kill a rank 9 3 times in a row in open pk with no problem (UrHeart lol). I love the challenge of trying to survive a rank 9 and playing in sub par gear hence why I attack necy sometimes or Ruvil or kirby in tw lol I know I can't kill those guys(and lady xD) but it's always fun to try xD Only question now is, do I want a lunar nirvana bow, +10 rank 8 bow, or rank 9 bow? T.T

Then again if you're primarily TW *cough PvE server*, the most important thing for ranged DD is still damage output. Who cares about defense when you're like 30m away? If you're careful about your surroundings you won't get focus fired too much at all and you have archer skills, genies, and pills to cover you when you do get attacked. If you're not careful and overextend you'll die in under 3s with any kind of gear. I'll bet that an experienced ranged DD can go into TW with no gear on and just a weapon, and most people wouldn't even notice a difference.
