on Xfire Pwi has fallen to 90th place on the top played game
http://www.xfire.com/games/perfw/Perfect_World/

is this something to worry about, i have noticed there are less people on ingame.is the problem that the game is geting harder for new people to get eney amour because of gold prices shot upto 1.4 mill, so that meens evrethin ells has? i dont now but thats my gess

another think Gratz forsaken World for going to 30th place and the main reson thay did because pwe premotid it on steam as a free game, just saying why dont thay do that for pwi

If FW didn't start to gain population since its launch I would be worried.

PWI is a more casual game and I doubt many of PWI players are the type of people who use Xfire. This goes for most MMOs tbh.

PWI has gone down-hill ever since September 19th, 2009
How come, if someone asks a question in a forum, at least 13/20 posts answers the question in the same exact way, 5/20 word the exact same answer differently and 2/20 say something completely unrelated to both life and death?

Games tend to lose popularity when the GM and Support teams care as little about the community as the PWI staff do. This, coupled with the fact that PWI forums are worse than most prisons in terms of trash talking and butthurt.

This. The day the King of Kung Fu had a name change was the day PWI lost it's appeal. :(

Then it's September 15th, since packs were introduced at September 1st, then the 8th they were removed, and the 15th they were re-introduced. Like with all the other bull**** "due to popular demands".

PWI, a casual game? You could be forgiven for thinking the opposite, reading some of the posts around here. >_>

Regardless, I do have to echo the point about Xfire. I certainly don't use it. I know a couple people who do, but... no, Xfire is by no means an authoritative indicator of a game's popularity.

EDIT: I also have to echo those who said the game started to nosedive on or around 9/1/09. -_- Sigh.

I didn't play when the game first came out, but I will echo sentiments of 9/11/09 if that was when they first introduced gear directly into the cash shop. Then, that was when they ditched the standard in MMO's of not allowing people to directly buy gear from the cash shop.

    Lol "9/11"... 'twas 9/1. :P But yeah.

9/1/09 was (roughly) when the very first Anniversary Packs were added. We were told it would be temporary... that tokens wouldn't radically reform us, that Lunar Gear wouldn't become too common, that gold prices wouldn't stay at that outrageous 400k for long.

Then they probably saw how much money the packs were making and... well, we all know the rest of that story, don't we kids? -_-

b:angryb:cry Oh sweet zombie jebus I feking HATE that day! I'm a year 1 player, I used to promote the hell out of this game but then a few things happened. Those anni packs came out and that day I got scammed for 12mil coin (back then 12 mil was a huge number and almost no one knew there was a "PERFECT best luck" and a "best luck" everyone called them "luck tokens" so "best luck" was simply assumed to be the good one) and the support team told me to read more careful in their reply 3 weeks later to my ticked... That was 1 thing, the other thing was they never really took the token packs away, we were out right lied to. They said they were temp thing for the anni then they left and came back a few times then they left and came back a few times under diferent names then they STAYED FOREVER and well we know how this story ends don't we children? Thats right, the cash shoppers which up to that point were only a mild annoyence TOOK OVER THE WORLD and now real free player or casual CSers are on the bottom of the barrel being outdated faster than yogurt in the summer sun...

true, it also helps to lose popularity when its getting repetedly raeped for money and that causes it to get so unbalanced and broken that you need money just to have fun in a "free" game...
PWI is a more casual game and I doubt many of PWI players are the type of people who use Xfire. This goes for most MMOs tbh.

I use XFire, why should I pay for FRAPS when I can do the same for free? I dont use the rest of the site though lol...
