top physical def... question

what im looking for is a class,ekips...IDEAS that provides me the greatest damage redution(physical) possible...

this is a good start...i think so

it has 89~90% dmg reduction from brute physical def from ekips without buff, but it wont get to 99% even if i were bill gates* and had a sage cleric vanguarding on me every 10 secs

    Is there a reason to do this, or just for fun? I have heard that there is a hard cap at 90% anyways. JoSD will give you a far greater defense reduction than those shards anyway, and the diminishing returns on pdef are so great that your wasting your time.

    Use a love up and down rather than a +magic tome (more total stat points given, some of which can go to increase vit or str to further increase pdef.)

    Select rings with +str or +vit (or +dex/+mag, putting any excess into str or vit) rather than +patk (you're going for max pdef, not max patk, right?)

    Edit: if you change the Demon Bell in my calc to sage and put Buddha's guard on you get 99% reduction.

    pumping def levels is the way to go, i think. here's a lolstupidrich build i'm not even sure is actually possible in-game: http://pwcalc.com/feb85df7c801e9e3

    yeah, nowhere near the phys def, but i'm thinking the 77 defense levels might make up for that.

    i tried building a full rank 9 seeker in pwcalc to see what defense levels i could reach, but it just got stupid. you'd need a freakin' antitank missile to take out one of those...

    Well, the build proposed by LenieClarke has an overall physical damage reduction of 81.8%.

    I went ahead and changed the Veno in the build to a R9 psychic with full JoSD and Sage White Voodoo. I came to a total of 150 Defense Levels. The overall reduction was about 89% for physical attacks.

    Kinda by definition as a "Tank" ingame. Btw, i think wizzies have a couple of those in their arsenal.
