Some little suggestions? :)

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking your time to view this Thread. Let me start with what is troubling me - feel free to add in with your own opinions!

So, recently, since the Genesis Expansion, I have been playing with a Mystic. I love the skills/graphics/design overall (not so pleased with the lack of customization, no matter what you do, you still are a clone of someone) and, well, this in the end brings me to my frustration. As you can see, I also have a little Veno to play with.

And since I want to focus only on one single main, without any alts to level up (I do not have the time to focus on more characters) I feel like I must make a choice now, between handling my sweet Veno or my Mystic. I love both classes but somehow, Veno is still having a special place in my heart. My first arrival to pwi, started with a Veno. My best memories from here, are from a Veno. I even handle better a Veno, plus the fox form skill which I enjoy in particular.
I will make a list of what I like/don't like on each class, and judging on the importance of each pro and con, you could also help me a little deciding which character seems to fit me most. Here we go:

Mystic:
Cons:
- Low to 0 customization, you always see someone looking just like you, no matter how hard you try.
Huge mana leeching, you basically need a charm, and/or pots or you can as well say bye bye and spend hours meditating in-between one single kill.
Eyebrows almost never match your hair color, unless you make the hair color after the eyebrows (duh, where is originality?)
You cannot un-summon your summon, and halting it each time can get annoying.
People expect of you to be the second Cleric and have high expectations of you.
Your best summon looks like Satan. I am a Christian, you can imagine how I feel fighting along a horned demon...
(There would be more but this would become too long)

Pros: (for me)
Pretty skills, pretty graphics, pretty meditation. That's what got me addicted, and that is the only thing I enjoy. ><

Sweet Venomancer:
Pros: (for me)
I love everything at them, really. Everything O_O

Cons:
People expect of you to get a Herc. I don't like Hercs. They are ugly, they are fat, they are yellow. They look like giant fat yellow pedo's. Just because they are "useful" is not an excuse to get them ASAP.

What do you say, folks? Should I choose Veno, or Myst? Also to be noted: I am more of a solo-person, I like to help/be useful, but not to be the main focus point and the main support of a Team. My computer is a jerk sometimes, and I do not want to go poof in the middle of boss tanking when Team needs me the most - especially Barb.

Which side do I fit?

You really need someone else to help you choose? You're definitely a veno player. Stick with the one you like more, and from your post, that would be the veno hands down. As for the herc thing: if you don't want one, don't get one. Show that you can use other pets just as well, and if people can't accept that, then don't party up with them again. It's as simple as that.

You are a veno, i would say. stop even considering mystic, and get back to leveling that sexy vixen.

As for the herc thing, if you can get your hands on a reflect scroll a walker with reflect, strong, etc, is pretty darn close to being a herc. Might even have slightly better attack, i cant remember.

reflect is damn expensive though

I'd just keep playing the veno if I were you, it's clear that you like your venomancer more ^^

About the herc... You don't NEED one.
I lvld fine without a herc up till lvl 83 or so, and I could've done fine still without it.
Is a herc usefull? defenitly.
Do you NEED one to be able to play normally?
defenitly not.

I never even used a golem and I've been doing fine without one o.o;

Thank you girls ^_^ I needed other people's opinions because I was really confused when I wrote this. But indeed, seems that the "sexy vixen" is the way to go for me!

As much as pretty graphics are pretty, I much prefer to be able to make an original-looking character with things to choose from rather than making a boring, common one for the sake of it. A Veno is never common (as long as it's not a preset, lol) and the versatility of the class is definitely my favorite thing!

(As you can see, I barely got this Mystic to lv 33. It bored me sooo much.)

A herc can be replaced by a barb.

Hercs in squads arent really that useful when your squad already has another tank, a normal golem will do.

You rarely if ever see "Veno with Herc', or 'Herc Veno Only' squad posts in WC and normal chat.

Hercs make soloing even better and are 10x less likely to die, but as others have said, they birng no additinional advantages over a well played Barb or Veno that people rarely request them.

You should stick with the Veno, and can the Mystic. The new fish classes are designed for the console generation of new players and require a great deal less micromangement. That immersion is what you will miss if you leave the Veno for the Mystic. With the Veno, you have to be paying attention, monitoring your stats, your pets stats, your targets stats, and planning your next few moves ahead.

With the new classes it is more like, start combat, switch attention to TV for a minute, switch attention back, pick up loot, rinse and repeat. Granted the Mystic requires a bit more maintenance and attention to gear choices (to buff MP) than the other fishy, but its a breeze compared to learning how to outfit a Veno and juggle MP and Health balances as needed.

Which side do I fit?

You see, you are likely to find a squad quicked if you are a mystic. HOWEVER, if you want to chose only one, i would sincerely reccomend the venonmancer.
here is why:
-you call her sweet venonmancer (which shows you have a soft spot for your venonmancer);
-you say you love everything about your venonmancer;
-you DON'T HAVE TO buy a hercules; there are a bunch of other pets and, as well as other things a venonmancer can do (tranfer mp, transfer chi, giving reflective buff...);
-Custumization seems to be an issue, and venonmancers have more options...;
-As far as the graphics are concerned, there is still plenty of mystics on the game...you can simply ask someone to do a certain skill or meditate, once in a while...(if you ask nicely, i'm sure they'll do it).

Personally, i would preffer a mystic. HOWEVER, you seem to love your venonmancer, and i must adapt my advice for each individual! ^_^
