    I've been a vit Barb, str/dex Barb, both Sage and Demon, and currently a claw Barb now.

    Since I'm going slowly toward lvl 100 I was thinking a lot about reseting to claws. I see aps this aps that but barb with axe is just cooler, imo. Maybe one day devs will upgrade flesh ream so holding aggro will become easier. I guess it's smarter to get more demon skills then reset and charge to become average aps barb...

    Axe. I'd rather use a Sin/BM if I were to use high APS gear.

    I love my kitty, and I can't imagine wielding claws. I know that APS is pretty powerful but for now I just stopped playing it and focusing on my new cleric. It's hard playing with sins at 9x when they steal aggro all the time. I know that I shouldn't mind, but as the barb, you should tank, but since I can't...... I'd rather take a break.

    I know a lot of barbs moved to aps and they're proud of it, but I can't bring myself to. Maybe one day developers will make the change, who knows? Maybe one day I'll be a cata barb? Who knows...

    Hoping that one day I'll find the passion for the barb again. :D

    Proud claw barb, or as I call us "The real 'tank' build."


    I know alot of threads focus on "should I be a claw barb" and people who have switched have to defend their reasons for switching but I think of it as the opposite. Is there any reason not to be a claw barb? Or why would you remain a vit/axe barb endgame?

    1500 hp lose is well worth it to deal 8 times the damage and be actually tanking again.

    honestly, i did pk while pure axe, and all i did was play defense. with claw, im able to kill people that are 3x better geared than me because of my claw dmg output, and im able to farm with them.
    i know there are pure axe barbs still out there and im not saying switch, but im defending the wannabeBM claw barbs, because yes we are sexy too. b:pleased

    Pure Strength Demon Axe Barb for me, as honestly I have my bm and a soon to be 5aps base sage sin on the same account I really dont need another fist char and hitting like a mack truck sounds like fun.

    Using full 2nd cast nirvana armor and 2nd cast weapon (farming weapon this 2x hopefully for both bm and barb to use)

    I doubt there are any pure claw build barbarians out there. Why would someone give up their axes?

    The Sexiest barb i think is one that uses

    1. R9 Sac Axe , Sac x2 is just cool.
    2. Nirvana 2nd Cast Claw with - 0.1 int , 5aps claw just way too much damage
    3. Warsoul Bow , Hee,hee personal preference.

    300 str 200 dex. The rest Vit/Str for the win!

    Pure vit build just for catapult pulling. As the only real major thing i do on the barb is tw any other PvP im still content with being a support role and in 1 v 1s i can still wipe out almost anything with an armagedon with the proper debuffs and how much hp I have. Once i get my r9 pole axe though i'll be restating to just enough str and dex to wield it. I dont even break 300 str, even with gear add ons

    Ax all the way. Haven't decided on Sage/Demon yet, though I'm leaning toward sage (No advice on this thread please).

    I just see ax as more traditional, and I'm holding aggro just fine, so I see little reason to change how I'm doing things. The idea of going claw just repels me, and I can't image ever changing.

    Barbs never believe they wont be useful or wont be able to hold aggro. They pick their 89 culti on it. Then sins get their level 90 gear. Or 95 cape. Or 99 gear. And they go "****. Why did I chose xxxx culti? Why did I stat so much vitality? Whats the point of me being in a squad if the sins/bm/... tank and I stand there and devour?"

    The thing is, don't wait till your barb is 100 to see. Go level a sin. I had to tank my own FB59 on my level 61 sin because I had decent gear (rank top, cape, DQ bracers) and the 100 sage vit barb couldn't keep aggro of little level 61 me.

    I am a good barb and tanked almost all my FCCs up to level 99, but alot of time I'd look at the sins gear and go "hmm, want me to try to keep aggro? Or do you want to tank, I'll devour for you." When on my sin, starting at level 80 I'd join a squad and the barb would say "You're tanking, right?" before ever seeing me. So don't play a barb and assume you'll continue to tank, or continue playing a broken class because it should work. Just go level a sin to see how easy aggro ripping is, then make the decision for how your barb will be useful in a squad.

    Also, having a sin tank everything with 1/3 the hp made me think "how important is vit?"

    Of course, if TW cata is your goal that has nothing to do with squad play, pve, or pvp.

    Cata, barb,

    Once hit 90, I'll be yes, demon, and ill be TWing, seaming as that is the only thing i'll be needed for, why not do it, and do it well.

    I don't care for the aps Craze, I dont care if the sin wants to tank, good on em, i've been waiting for some one else to tank for me for the past 20 levels, why not let em do it. it gets tediously boring tanking non stop day in day out 24/7, so why wouldn't i just sit back, relax, take a small snooze, with one eye open ready to pounce if something goes wrong. its rather more relaxing that sitting there breaking my keyboard because my skills wont go off.

    being pure claw isnt possible.. you need axe for buffs and skills.
    now you mena pure claw as mainly using them, thats me. i only use my axe for buffs, tiger mode to run in, invoke in pk, onslaught & mighty swing, and anti stun. thats mainly pk i use my axe, in pve, like when im farming, i only use my axe for buffs and onslaught. rest is claws.
    i even mainly run around with my claws on, i love to show off my 2socket. lol

    I get too annoyed with the slow walking speed to walk around in claws b:chuckle

    On regular mobs I miss my cast cancel from alacrity and heal from sunder, ripping bite (if in party) and the extra defense from tiger form really. Since I spend most of my time either killing mobs or running I generally use my axes. Bosses are so quick that hardly counts towards my claw time b:pleased

    edit: oh right 2 slots... yes gotta love them sparkles ;)

    Just to make sure, I ment claw/axe not pure claw. I also decided to reset to dex, probably too early but fun factor playing my barb increased to the sky now lol.
    I just can't imagine how barbs should tank with claw later.
    Flesh Ream - switch to claw and then sparked gang bang all the time?
    BMs and dagger fishs do probably more damage because they have weapon masteries and we have only strenght of the titans which which is buffed to others too.

    Actually you also have poison fang and that + str of titans is enough to compete with bms,but not with sins.Sins have higher damage than any fist/claw user.
