corrupted?

Okay so here is my problem;

Yesterday I was playing PWI as always, then I had to get off to study for exams. When I got back on it said the file folder is corrupted. It was fine; then like...20 minutes later I can't get it.
Now; I'm not good with technical terminology; what exactly does that mean 'corrupted'

I verified everything and it happened again today. Are there any more steps I need to do?

    run a file verify. You may also want to scan your hard disk for errors.

    Happens to me all the time. Like after the update last night, i was on just fine. I logged off and havent turned off my computer or anything, I go to start it, it goes to start, gives me that stupid rapid popup that is impossible to catch a glimpse of, gives error tone and shuts off/or it says corrupted file.

    Try checking Hard Drive for bad clusters. this will cause loss of data or corrupt data.
