Hello there. I am new to Perfect World, I just downloaded it today. I got linked to it from a site that said it had absolutely massive character customization.

What I was wondering, is that for the beast race, I saw a lion, panda, tiger, and wolf... But no Bear. Is it possible for me to make my character look like a bear?

    i apologize if you felt offended by my post. i just couldn't resist to post, reading someone considering a panda bear to be no bear b:chuckle

    for barbs you have only the choices you are given at the char creation.

    btw for the "massive character customization". if you have not tried other classes/races yet, there you can do alot more with the looks instead of choosing only a couple animal forms, fat or slim. barbs are really limited in their apearance compared to the rest.

    It was not a bad question... it just had info missing which if u came from a troll (which it seems u admit,... making me think u purposly left out some info to troll) forum should know this is what feeds trolls.

    again as Dorset and I said... be cautious of what you post and try to include as much information as u can so we can answer better.

    Oh and Dorset was being nice so u should thank her.

    And most live in bile farms and cages in China, while Panda's are held on golden altars. Lions on the other side are iconic in Chinese mythology and it's what the game is based on.

    If you want customization, pick a different class.
    Apart from changing the preset (lion, panda, ect), Barbs have almost no customization.

    It's massive on the rest of the classes though

    That is a complete myth. Most do NOT live on farms or in cages - there's actually more roaming bears in the wild there than in America.

    @OiOOio - You appear to not be able to read very well. I'm not the troll, friend. The first poster was. By my acknowledgement of the Panda and a Bear being two separate entities, it was clear that I meant any other kind of bear.

    I'm finding this forum both completely inhospitable and unhelpful. Is this how you treat all your newcomers?

    Hardly a myth, go to any major conservation site and look at the numbers.

    As I edited in my previous post, the game is centered around iconic Chinese mythology, and the panda took the prize. That's all.
    You could change your appearance (not sure if as far as custom skinning) beyond the set limitations but it is currently forbidden.

    About the Asiatic Lion, there are still a few in India. They then are not extinct.

    As for the bears, you are right. Especially in Japan, Black Bears are quite a problem, because of urbanization. And so bears go look for food around towns... especially young males.

    And then, when it comes to forums, you are correct again. Quite a pity to witness that kind of idiocy around, especially when the troll is not that good or ruthless (and even both at times).

    Ah, a voice of reason! There's hope for this forum yet. I'm glad I refreshed the page before closing the tab forever.

    While it is true that they exist in full force in India, the majority of my responses here keep telling me the game is based in China, in which case there would be no lions and bears should be running rampant.

    did you know that panda females only have a 3 day window each year to make babies... and the male panda almost never wants it b/c they are some of the laziest animals on the planet...

    Would explain why they are going extinct lol

    Even Lion males are lazy as hell, but out of the time they'r not eating or sleeping, they do make good 'use' of the females b:dirty

    it is true... male pandas have a low sex drive and they are very very pick on what female they will even mate with... and lions will have sex 10 times a day if need be... i guess lions like that putty tat... b:victory

    Well, PWI is more or less based on a general Asian theme indeed, with a major Chinese component. Remember that Siddharta Gautama (Buddha/Sakyamuni)'s influence crossed many countries, and even legends did the same, such as the Monkey King's one (from China to India).

    That said, the game does not mind going for Japanese stuff (Yukata), occidental ones (camo clothes, greek and spartan clothing), and even outlandish/anachronistic stuff (catgirl clothing, zippos, motorcycles).

    So, don't look too much for a reason to things, just enjoy the ride and do not listen to dummies. b:chuckle
