Stats for Seeker in duo with Cleric + other newbie questions

Hello, I'm new to PW and am playing a Seeker on the Raging Tide server. I've been following this guide: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1067881, as well as these guidelines: http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Seeker_Common_Stat_Builds. And I'm now trying to decide how to allocate my points among STR, VIT, and DEX.

I will always be online with my friend, a Cleric. So, maybe I don’t need to worry about VIT as much? We are casual players but would like to do some of the higher level runs sometime too (and may do PvP time to time). I don't want to be super squishy, since I'll be tanking in our duo, but then again, you guys know best…

Second question: I'm kind of conflicted about which skills to pursue. I'm following Knightblayde's recommendations to some extent, but I'm wondering... if I make a choice I dislike later on, can I just choose to focus on a different skill, or am I locked into the path? That is... can I max out as many skills as I want, as long as I get enough spirit points?

Third question: given my duo friend, any recommendations for what crafts to level, or is there a guide out there? Is it really important to level one at all?

Thanks!

EDIT: Ugh, it ate my whole post. >.<

    Well, the new version:

I'm in the same boat you are (seeker with a cleric) and I'm following a build that goes something like this:
5str 3dex 2vit every two levels until 50 white vitality, then:
3str 2dex every level until 160 dexterity, then:
    5str every level.

With just the 50 vitality, I've been able to tank all of my BH runs, and I don't think I've sacrificed too much attack power, since I can still 1 shot most equal-leveled squishies with an underleveled Gemini Slash. Just go with what you feel is best.

As for skills, you can indeed max every skill available to you as long as you have the spirit and coin for them. The skill guides are basically just suggestions as to what skills are generally more useful to level in the early stages, and which skills are best saved for later on when you have millions of unused spirit.

In our situation, I learned Blacksmithing (for making our Twilight Temple weapons), and she learned Tailoring (for making legendary/Twilight Temple armor later on) and apothecary (for very useful MP recovery pills for herself).

Interesting to see another person with the same player combo I have, and I'm glad to see someone finally do some research before just jumping in and completely messing up their character. b:victory

Thanks for the advice. Small followup... Is there some special cutoff at 50 VIT or 160 DEX?

almost oneshotting a squishy with gemini (our hardest hitting skill), is nothing tbh. for a seeker just follow 2 str 2 dex 1 vit all the way. you could stand toe to toe with almost every class that comes your way (except for maybe well played psys and mystics). you may not be a tank, but vit helps a whole lot 'cuz when its coupled with awsome gear, you become...hellish and thicker than a tiger barb :P. you'll see what im talking about when you and your friend lvl up to 10x and start farming up gear and then you go crazy with JoSD(Jades of steady defense) and then you literally become a wizard with perfect defenses :P.

    p.s. dun comment on my lvl QQ i joined in 08 and haz a 10x char on a PvE serv...that i deleted T.T T.T

I think 50 vit is so he doesn't loose too much damage, but still have good base hp. 160 Dex let's him use any Seeker weapon as well as get an extra 1% crit.

When did I say I almost 1 shot them? o.o

I usually end up hitting them for a few hundred more HP than they have, unsparked or un-anything-d. Only one I haven't been able to 1 shot without a crit is my GF's cleric, because she has really really nice gear for her level.

    And Fenrina is right. :3

Would anyone ever go straight STR/DEX, with no VIT? Some of the guides I linked in the original post advise that, but it sounds from you guys like that'd be a bad idea...

Random question: how do I bring up that Level Guide window, aside from when it comes up automatically when I level? :P

It's actually not as bad as it sounds. Early on, there's stuff like life powders which are powerful restoratives. Later on, refining and sharding gear provides hp plus there are some additional powerful healing items that open up at lv75.

My Seeker doesn't have any vit and she doesn't have any major problems. o.o

There's not really any problem with not having any vit. It's just slightly more expensive, and for a casual player, you might want to have some.

My seeker has no vit and his survivability is just fine. My hp is lower than others but I make up for it in everything else but keep in mind when starting out the game this may not be the best way to go for you.
