Recycling Pre-Paid Cards for Rewards

Hey PWI, well you see, I been buying a lot of prepaid cards lately and I have a ton of used ones stacked up for a while now, and they are kind of a waste to just throw out, I was thinking why not recycle them like mail them back to PWI so we help out the environment and at the same time, we get rewards like extra Zen or rare stuff. Plus this can give a good image to PWI to show that pwi cares for the environment and has a community of good people too. I don't know about others, but I am pretty sure they got a ton of used prepaid cards too. But this is just a suggestion, thought I share my idea with you people first :) b:victory

    Well if there is nothing in store for pwi, probably not, but since it can give pwi a good image, I think they might take it to consideration, cause their games will be more popular, I mean some people never heard of pwi, so in a way it can help them advertise when people put this game in a newspaper or magazine or a game wesbite to spread the word of how they are going green, and can make people try their game if its popular.     If they did this, I might actually buy a Prepaid card. I like this idea a lot, a good way to go green. Even it was just a small amount zhen, like 1 gold (the cost of the stamp + change for US people) it would be a great way to promote recycling.

    Well like I said in my Previous Post if you read it, It Can Give PWI a good image to show they are going green, and by this happening, it will make news over the internet,game stores, people,etc sort of like getting the word out and this will sort of be like Advertisement for promoting their game so people might give it a try once they hear about the game, and what does that do, it brings in More Money to pwi. So basically, it helps promote Recycling, Helps PWI image, Better caring Game Community, And Advertisement/Popularity of the game goes up which makes more people find out about the game. I mean, lots of people haven't heard of PWI, but other games (apparently you can't list games cause it keeps coming out as ***) they have cause they Advertise Worldwide on TV, Websites, Newspapers, Game Stores,etc. Hopefully this will make you understand b:laugh

    There's really absolutely nothing stopping anyone from recycling the cards on their own, so I seriously doubt PWE would do anything like that. People who don't already play the game aren't going to start playing it just so that they can buy prepaid cards to recycle for rewards.

    No but people who have never heard of the game, and hear about the positive strides the company is making, may decide to check the game out and see if they like. People like to play games, and they like to associate themselves with things they can feel good about. There are a lot of people who would buy one product over another (sometimes even pay more for it) because they know that the company is a green one. So I think it would draw in a few new players. It may also make older players consider purchasing the cards instead of using paypal, so that they can get the bonus and help the environment at the same time. There are also people out there who only recycle when it isn't a massive amount of work. I know I personally throw away way more at home than at University, where there are actually different recycling bins. Now that my city just got a single stream curbside recycling program though, I'm going to have to look into and see if i can change that. Before I don't know how to recycle here, since the curb program wasn't advertised or utilized by anyone I knew.

    I suppose you're right. I don't understand that mindset, but I certainly won't deny that it exists. Either way though, I seriously doubt it's something PWE would do. b:shutup

    I don't see how wasting an envelope+stamp to mail PW a piece of plastic would preserve anything or be green in any way to be honest.

    I heard mailing them with need transporting, which releases pollution which damages the environment.

    You know mail is recyclable too right? As for the transportation costs, it really depends on how they choose to implement the program. If it's something you like say return to your local best buy or other big box gaming dealer type deal and then give you a code to claim you bonus zhen, then when they throw it out at the curbside recycling pickup the various cities have and the store uses either way way it wouldn't cost anymore in transportation costs than is already being put out there.

    Orrrrrr how about prices come down so we don't need so many prepaid cards to begin with. That would be VERY green

    And as for the other points about how mailing them with envelopes/stamps and transporting them, I doubt it would do damage to environment doing that Unless you like to Mail PWI a prepaid card 1 by 1. What I meant by mailing them the prepaid cards was like mailing them a stack, if you mail them 1 by 1, yes it would be causing more damage to environment, but if you stack your cards and then mail them, no it would be more positive. b:pleased

    Why not make the cards themselves more enviro-friendly? That would give PWE the same green image, and I can just toss them in the bin I already have with the rest of the cardboard?

    Not all recycling companies take all of the various plastics, but (almost) all will take cardboard and paper.

    you can recycle whatever you want, sending them back to PWI so that you can get some kind of reward for it is extremely counterproductive aside from producing some in game bauble for you to get giddy about, there are already ways to buy zen online which don't use any disposable products, why not do that? get a pre-paid rechargeable card and charge away without hurting the environment. besides any perceived environmental positive to be gained is so token, that its pointless, nobody is saving the polar bears by melting down used up pre-paid cards into park benches or railroad ties.

    As you know, this is a game, which is basically a place where most of the players are Kids. I doubt kids have credit cards. Also some people don't feel comfortable using credit cards over the internet because of Identity Theft, hackers,etc. So really, you can't say that. And my point of this is when you buy a ton of cards, the cards stack up, its a waste to throw them in the trash, so I thought recycling them would not only benefit PWI itself by giving it a good image, promoting/advertising to get more people/ but also to make the community more active in participating. I mean this is not only a good thing for pwi itself, but for the players to get something out of it too. b:laugh

    While no doubt a lot of players are kids, I'd wager that a lot of the high spenders are adults with jobs and disposable income. I know popular for people to point fingers and refer to the heavy cashshoppers as kids with "mommy and daddy's credit card" but realistically, very few parents would be willing to foot the bill for such expenses.

    I've never seen them do this before, ever. Do you seriously think they would do anything to benefit prepaid card purchasers? No. You buy the prepaid cards for the value the card has, and that's absolutely all that PWE will give you for the card.

    Actually, Prepaid cards do get Zen Bonuses. PWI emails everyone once in a while with a coupon which adds more zen to your purchases to both prepaid and credit card. And I am pretty sure prepaid cards also get more zen during the zen bonus sales, I think I did when I zened with a prepaid card, but not sure since it was a while ago. b:pleased
