How do you even level up?

I tried playing an Archer and well, while I was doing good damage at ranged, I did absolutely no damage once the mob got close to me. It took almost two minutes to kill a level 2 mob. What gives?

    My archer at lvl 2, 1-2 shot mobs? Are you auto-attacking? wait..no...even auto attack should kill them fast....

    try to put every point on dex, and to keep a good bow in your arm...

    Archers get their damage cut in half if the target moves too close to them. You are supposed to attack, run back when target is near, attack, repeat. It's called kitting and it is the main strategy of every archer. Once you level up you will gain skills to stun, slow or push back mobs, making kitting more effective.

    On a side note, were you shooting soap bubbles at that mob?

    Maybe he got the Dex and Magic stat boxes mixed up, seeing as they are ontop of each other.

    On a side note: lvl 2 mobs have, at most, 142 hp.http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/mob/1004

    Your bow's damage, even at close range, is higher than 2. Base longbow aps is .67 http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/2250

    at 1.33 dmg per second, with double dmg the first 3 seconds (8 dmg) , and normally at least one crit (4 dmg) you would kill THE THOUGHEST LVL 2 MOB YOU COULD POSSIBLY ENCOUNTER, IN THE BLEAKEST POSSIBLE CONDITIONS, in less than 2 minutes by sitting in front of it and shooting at it.

    In fact, you would kill it even if you start out at close range and dont crit at all

    Unless you miss about 20% of your hits, wich would be quite strange, since the mob in question has only 15
    eva.

    And newb bow dmg is higher than 2 most of the time. Going from the dmg on the bow, your average, close range hits would deal 3 dmg.

    So i conclude this guy is a troll.
