Requesting old interface

Since I have a lot of real life friends playing PWI, and I know about 6 of them who aren't recently active those days, I asked them why they aren't accessing the game like before. They told me that they don't like the new interface; since then (the UI changing), they aren't being so much active. I had the same feeling, but it didn't make a big difference for me. I asked some of my in-game friends, and they shared with me the same opinion: That the old interface is better looking and more comfortable for us... So I thought I could make this post, and request to bring back the old interface. If so, we can even make a vote for it! Let me know what you guys think... I'll be so happy to get new ideas about it! I tried finding the post by Infernia, I think it was, about this but failed...

Basically you go into your PW folder:

Perfect World Entertainment > Perfect World International > element > userdata > systemsettings file

Open that file and find

[UI]
Theme = 1

Change the value from 1 to 0, save then log into the game

EDIT: Oops my reading failed too...idk if you didn't know how to do this or just wanted to request it back xD Anyway hope it's helpful

I'd love to have a proper option ingame to revert to the old UI. Don't seem them switching it back for everyone but the option would be nice.

Fun fact: If you check settings with the old UI, there is a button to choose between old or new one. If you then change it to the new one, the button disappears.

Same for login screen.

PWI GMs have already approved players switching back to the old UI. Please look at the stickied thread about this in Technical Support. Thanks!b:thanks

But this isn't a solution, by any means. I know people that (like myself) *can't* play in the old UI because when you switch back now it alters the mail system. In the old UI you can no longer send mail to a character with a name longer than 10 letters. Myself, running a guild bank full of chars and needing to mail to them, also mailing to guild members from the bank... this makes it impossible for me. It also messes up a few other things, like the bar above the chat box so that you can't read the chat types, but I could deal with that. I hate the new UI very much, as it takes the small screen I already had and fills it with stuff so that I now have a way smaller portion to actually play on. Huge squad bar, huge chat bar, huge skill bars, huge empty spaces you can't click on under the map and beside the squad bar... my playing has become very difficult and I could see why people in my situation would leave.

They should give us a proper way to switch back to the old UI (like how there is a button to change back to the new), and make it work. Mail and all. Then it would be fine.

this, yes, i have the exact same problems.

i find it interesting that the old UI is not precisely just the old UI as it was, that certain elements in that theme nevertheless track the "new" style. for instance, the mailbox write-a-mail-to-someone window has the new-style window border, etcetera. yet it does not work, not the way the old UI worked nor the way the new one does, and it fails in a way that makes no sense.

even so, i stick it out with the now-broken old-style theme, because i can't spare the window pixelage for the bloated new-style graphics. i don't have Anna's problem of frequently needing to send mails to random other people, so i can cope with the silly brokennesses. i'd prefer if it just worked the way it used to, but this is PWE, they can't tie their shoes without **** something up for somebody else...
