I have grown accustomed to the ignorance within this community. So if someone spends $1500 dollars on Rank 9 gear they didn't earn it? How in the heck did they get the $1500 dollars?
Maybe because everyone here is lucky if they can have a minimum wage job bagging groceries they think that successful people in real life don't earn their money they spend on this game.
So what is better?
Being successful in real life and being able to enjoy this game because your money makes it easier.

Its not that people can cashop for an advantage, its that they dont even need to play. Back in the day, C$ers had the advantage easily : Charge gold, buy mats off players who earnt the mats etc. Everyone wins, mr RL-successful helps mr VL-successful and noone minds too much (People complain, but nothing on the state they do right now).
Now mr RL successful owns everything. and MR VL doesnt stand fuc.k all chance, making F2P kinda pointless.0 -
All type of gear needs a description and of course the highest grade ones should have the most extravagant and grandiose story. Even R8 gear makes you a "hero of the immortal legend" and all people did was charge 50 bucks.
They cant really call R9 ring "Token of Ultimate Cash shopping" either, even if that would be more suitable.
And no you cant get over 1 billion chips from BHs, DQ, events and Cube. It would take years and R11 would be out by the time you where finished.0 -

I haven't seen anyone mention this but there is another way to get the stuff for rank gear without getting from a catshop. And yes I know SOMEBODY still spends the money but doesn't have to be me. If people save their money there's always the option of waiting till the gold prices at auctioneer go down and trade for it before each sale. Sales on the game are pretty predictable too. At least this game allows you to make money, unlike other past mmo's I've played that forced people to cash shop only and even then you couldn't get ahead. I'm still a PWI fan and I'm still happy with the customer service.

The ignorance is on your end, sir. Perfect World Entertainment is an online video game company. Perfect World International is an online video game.

Key word in definition for online video game: "played"
In a video game (including but not limited to an online video game), you play it. You put a certain amount of hours into a video game for a purpose. Most video games allow you to put hours of work in for a virtual time(s), achievements, or unlockables.
However...
In Perfect World International, a player who has hyper FF'd to 101 in 2-3 weeks w/ real life cash and a few hours per day, can stand in Arch and make less than 20 steps before obtaining a full set of +12 R9 gear.
Go back and read my post in this thread about rank and reputation. What it actually means is far from what you actually obtain in this game w/ real life cash. Sure people have earned their money in real life. No doubt. Sure people are welcome to spend money on the game they enjoy. No doubt. Should they be able to obtain everything in the game with real life cash, causing there to be no point for that player to do any actual game play? Of course not.
If your unable to understand this, I don't blame you. It takes intelligence to see a game for what it really is, doesn't it? I'll be waiting for a witty retort on how I'm the one that is indeed ignorant.0 -

Anyway, Imo, 90% of r9ers on the server are a waste of their own gear. The gear completely defines their ability, the gear practically wears them. They should really change the death notifications in TW.

The way I see it is, most rank 9s are getting ring + weapon only. This leads to the most apparent illusion that rank 9 = 1 shot wonders. Although this is true, once more and more rank9s begin to obtain armor, it becomes more balanced out. Or should. Sort of how mostly everyone had tt90 armor back in the days, we noticed more skilled players. It's an arc of sorts I suppose. As we reach further out in time, we see more rank 9s gather armor as well which leads to decreasing the damage. Through my experience, I've realized rank 9 really isn't all that too over powering. Granted I still have yet to kill a full JosD + 12 rank9 yet, most people in armor <+10 and JosD stand a fair chance of dying to my +5 rank 8 bow. (just look at UrHeart. Full rank 9 and got rolled 3 times 1 on 1). Perhaps I'm crazy, but I enjoy a challenge. I do feel undergeared but if I am able to take on a rank 9 toe to toe, it'll be all more satisfying when I finish my gear. That in itself should speak for something.

Hahaha but PWE has really stopped trying. Warsoul has an individual poem on each weapon. Nirvana has a small phrase, and now R9 just has "Glorified ___!"

If you are... my friend and I abandoned 6 tickets two weeks ago cause we decided at the airport that we want to change the second leg of our vacation. And I am pretty sure those 6 tickets cost more then this so called r9.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.

The worst thing in PWI is...all those credit-card-nubs getting all those great gears and especially for me and other 8-hours-a-day-hardcore-farmers that earn about 20-30m a day its still achieveable, but even for me this speed of farming is too low...so what I'm about to see is that I caught myself getting more greedy and wanting more money from day to day...guess what PWI needs the most right now =? A break, just a simple break to relax from all this ***** and then come back again with maybe another view of things and a clear mind...o.o I sound like my grandfather =D[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Lol at this thread. You guys can QQ and complain all day long about how fair/unfair is to get godly gears with real cash instead of ingame money/time, but at the end of the day, PWE will do whatever generates more money for them so it does not matter.
So in few words, PWE does not give a ****, all they care about is money, if you dont like it (understandable) uninstall.0 -

One fact is clear. PWI hardly depends on new players. Because old players leaving. What do you think how many old players still playing from beginning? A few. I stopped play for 8 months and when I came back to play again practically none from my old friend didn't play anymore.
PWI need still more and more new players to survive. But players base is not infinite. When players see how expensive is game and how PWI don't care about them, they leave.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
lol the original intent of the thread was to suggest that PWE should add some quests or something relating to rank, so people have something fun to do. It just seems that PWE is not paying attention to the "playing" aspect of the game very much lately.
Cultivation, past maps, those were all fun to me.
