What is R9?

What does the description on the R9 ring say? "The Token of Ultimate Honor"...but what did people do to deserve "Ultimate Honor?" By being rich?

Rank used to be something hard to get; rep had to be obtained by killing things and being victorious in dungeons. Now that all this has become available in the cash shop, people can get R9 overnight by being stationary.

You know how in a certain really old MMO, you had to do a Dragon Slayer quest in order to wear Rune Plate? You had to do quests or unlock a hall to be able to buy each Dragon item? Something like that...The cash shopping aspects of R9 can stay for all I care, but there should at least have been something fun ingame associated with it...like a quest line.

None of this "I'm gonna get R9!" *turns into a cat*

Guess it's too late now that all these people have it, but if there's going to be R10...

There's those quests to open 60000 chip packs 100 chip packs at a time. Doing all of those in one sitting, would be totally epic.

You forget though, pwi doesn't care about its long time player base, there about the short term money making. Once pwi gets there hands on all the money people spend for r9, they no longer care.

There's nothing more satisfying than dropping a r9 who FC'd from 1-101 and has no idea how to use their character.

They should have left the single chip opening process. Bulk opening makes it too easy, oooh the torture of opening one at a time lol. I loved it when people raged about it hahab:laugh

I'm telling this for a while already. P2P game is MUCH cheaper, balanced, fun and equal to everybody THAN PWI. And these type of game. If I would play another MMO in my life I would choose P2P for sure.
In my country we telling this. :"Not everything is gold what is shinning."
Translate. Free game is not as good as seem to look on first sight.

Umm did those get bring back? Because taking those 2 out completely killed the game for me. It was fun until they said "**** it, instead of fighting bots, we'll just take out free trade".

TBH, idk how much longer I can keep playing this game. It'd be hard to give up a game you know so well and learn a new one. It's a shame that such a good game got ruined by bad management. The only thing that's keeping me here is like TW.

Guess it's too late now that all these people have it, but if there's going to be R10...

In theory, it can be broken down like this...

Rank 9 is supposed to be a rank. Examples of ranks in real life would be the army, where you work you're way up to the top ranks, through time and hard work.

Rank 9 as well as all rank gear in PWI, requires reputation (rep). Reputation is something that is supposed to be earned through, again... Hard work. You can't get a lot of good reputation in real life without first doing something(s) of hard, valued work.

    However...

Rank 9 can be purchased in PWI with real life cash, as with most in-game things. The same goes for the character's reputation. The player can obtain something that should be worked for, by pulling out a credit card and punching the digits via the keyboard, into the form and pressing "Charge Zen". Without killing one monster (assuming the player is level 101), they can obtain end-game rank 9 gear as well as the reputation. The most movement needed is a few steps around Arch.

Where is the work in this?

    (I agree w/ the OP 100%)

There's nothing more satisfying than dropping a r9 who FC'd from 1-101 and has no idea how to use their character.

You can buy gear, you can't buy skill. b:victory

While this is completely true, and there is nothing that gets me off more than dropping a rank 9 player that has cash shopped their levels (1-101) as well as gear, there are some stipulations.

Dropping a rank 9 user that has no skills, still is difficult. While you, the hard working player has to use various tactics, strats, and skills to kill them; they are able to kill you in one or two hits by pressing the "F1" hotkey, which holds the skill "Gush".

Thats fun to say and all. But I am pretty sure most r9s can afk tank you to grab a drink... and come back to smack you around.

In China, Rank 9 is hard to get. You really need to work for it. You can't buy it like you do here.

Supposedly, Frankie was going to try to get us a new in game way to get medals. But I think we know what that means.

And do you really foresee a rank10? G17? TBh I don't think this games gear is meant to go up that high. PvP will probably be about who gets the first stun in. And what will happen when every idiot has r9? Then in what direction does pwi go?
Anyway, Imo, 90% of r9ers on the server are a waste of their own gear. The gear completely defines their ability, the gear practically wears them. They should really change the death notifications in TW.

    EXample:
You have been killed by Nebulous Shooter

    Instead of:
You have been killed by *******

Someone is bitter that they don't have r9 gears. Or let me guess... you are one of those who insist on not getting any r9 gear for the principle of things. Seriously... don't make me laugh. Good players will have good gears... regardless of what they are. Those r9 who are kicking *** (now) have long kicked *** before r9 or even r8 became affordable. And those r9s who get laughed at... have long got laughed at.

lol resort to insults so fast? It's no fun bantering with an idiot so I'll keep it friendly.

Not everyone with r9 is unskilled, yes I may have exaggerated the fail percent its probably realistically more around 60-70%. My statements come from the fact that many people considered "top" are only so because they have r9. they were unheard of before and their skills were only so-so, still are. There are r9 archers on my server that I can reluctantly admit that I play better than. My main concern is that skill is even less of a factor.

I admit I do not like r9, I personally think it is too powerful for being that simple to obtain. But for those hardworking, well-skilled individuals, It's nice to see them in r9.

No rep sales, medals only in tw.
That's why warsoul weap are so popular there, cause r9 is a much bigger pain to get.

They also don't have ocean orb sales.

There is this other MMO, sounds like "sift". b:chuckle I'm there and have been having a blast.

Do yourself a favor and cough up $15/mo to play a game where the devs actually give a damn about the players and the community. PWE works for China, not for us. In "sift", the devs live in Redwood City, CA.

"Goof Wads 2" and "Dynablo 3" also look promising...
