Sage sin, whats wrong?

Hey all,

everytime i read something Sage vs Demon poeple talk about Sage as if going sage is the worst thing a sin can do...

Is a Sage sin that bad? Why?

Can't they get 5aps and do everything a Demon sage do?

    They are good too , though if u want to go sage u need to get some necessary skills to validate ur choice ( Dagger Devotion , Blood Paint and some others). U can get 5 aps i think , u just need some more interval stuff cause u lack demon spark , but overall , it is a good choice.

    I'll answer u quickly. Most people say that for an obvious thing. The max APS u can reach by sage is 4 APS. now, if u use wind shield(Genie skill) u can reach 5 APS , and that's nice. The problem is reaching 4 APS. In fact, u'll need all the gears a demon sin need to be 5 APS sparked+an interval tome,which at least (on my server) costs around 280-300m (Pan Gu's one).

    If you consider PvE, sage sin is way better in some situations. Being 4 APS+ sage spark + sage BP will give u a lot of more survability. The 25% damage reduction is enough to explain this.
    Btw, lot of sins would stick with demon path because with the tome they could be 4APS+R9 daggers, meaning they would be the best DPS class in the game.
    PvP wise, i see demon path more appropriate. In PvP u want to stun, and demon stuns last longer. Sage spark? no matter, if u spark u'll be put out of stealth = death.

    That's ur choice:) Soloing stuff ofc will be easier with the sage path if u can reach a nice APS. If u can't, and u'd put an eye on PK (or maybe can afford R9 daggers) , demon is the right choice

    You must have read posts from 8 to 12 months ago. Look for some more recent threads. 99% agree sage is also good nowadays. Only a few are still stuck in the past.
    Then there are still some rumors like "sage is more expensive" or "sage is only good after x aps". I suppose they will always stay, since wc only looks for aps and doesn't care about the actual damage.

    This post is the epic example of how the aps craze pushes ppl to silly conclusions. No sin would stick with g13 vana if they got the choice and coins to get g15 or r9, this is as true for sage as for demon (Well there is 1 who will prefer g13 over r9, Skai and Olbaze should know who I'm talking about b:chuckle). As a sage sin I have to say, g13 vana is not the ultimate weapon for a sage sin. If aps is the thing you want, get deicides. It's **** damage compared to daggers but will be 5 aps sage even without the tome.

    Btw, a lot of sins go sage specificly when aiming for r9 too. 2.86 sage r9 vs 4.00 demon r9 is the exact same debate as sage vs demon in general.

    so, before get the Nirvana Gear for the 5aps,
    Using the TT99 (Bracers, Boots and legs) + Lionhearth Belt and Necklace and the robe
    I could be 5aps with a Decides

    No...just no. Getting any weapon other than daggers would completely ruin the point of going Sage. If you want high aps, get the demon spark.

    I personally am sage now and loving it. Whenever I asked people why they went demon "APS" is all I ever get. People never tell me "I liked the demon skills better plus the aps" Its just straight up aps.

    I personally love the sage skills and figure I can be a 5.0 sage. So why the hell not? I can still hit your 5.0 and have some of the better skills (nobody can deny that sage bp is better)

    And don't get fists. Not worth it. You have to stat your person to wear them, then restat later when you get others. Your damage of dex gets screwed up because you added more to strength. It's just a mess. Daggers > Fists.

    I've had demon sins tell me they wish they had gone sage. I've had people say "wow your sage, not seen many of them, cool" Personally, demon and sage are nearly equal and both good choices, just depends on play style.

    Standard int gear + tome + windshield genie skill. otherwise without genie it would be 4.0 which is still quite good

    Basically I think sage sin is a valid culti choice but not the better one.
