Because I have a high level sin, I've decided to create an archer as well since the gear matches (for the most part). What really turns me off is that 95% of archers are using R8 top and bow, and the only variation comes from those few R9 players or rare recasted bows. The same thing bothers me with the sin class, seeing everyone using the same gear, and I confess I'm part of that group (on my sin). With my archer, I don't want to follow the same pattern, so I've been considering my options when it comes to archer gear.

The only pieces I don't have for an archer are the Chest and Bow. I'm using Myriad Blossom Pants, and hopefully if there's a 2x soon I'll be sporting the Myriad Blossom Helm as well. I'm a pretty huge fan of the lunar nirvana gear.

*Note: I'm aware that R9 will outshine any other weapon or armor set, but I'm simply not spending the money, so I will focus on other options*

I want to use a purge bow, and the sexiest bow, imo, is the recast lunar bow. It would be nice to 2nd recast it but I don't have the money right now, and if I'm not mistaken the chance to get Spirit Blackhole is very low. So, I'll probably stick the the 1st cast Regenesis. In looking at the bow on the calc, I can see that at +10, its max damage is about 400 less than a R8 bow, however, can you purge with a R8 bow? I think not. Thoughts about this?

And the chest. I don't need a crazy aps archer. I already have a crazy aps sin for farming. So I don't want to use the R8 chest because it's just sooooo overused, albeit for good reason. Hey, its a good chest, but I already have one R8 chest, I want something unique. For this reason I'm leaning towards a recast lunar chest...they are super sexy and I would never get tired of it, plus not many people use it.

I'm just trying to break the mold on boring archer gear setups, and that's how I might do it. We'll see.

    Sure by all means do it, but 95% of the people go R8 bow for one reason : value for money.

    I would love to get a NV bow, but my server being relatively young no one will sell me one. Making one from scratch would cost over 130m during a x2, and a recast Regenesis is not worth that much to me.

    I hate that rank 8 bow too

    I see it everywhere and frankly I think it looks like a rotting tree branch infected with festering chlamydia from hell.

    I currently use a heaven shatterer, but will likely eventually use a r8 bow simply because yes it is a good value for the money. be it hideous and overused. But if you are going to go through great lengths to get a competitive end game purge bow, you might as well get the r9 bow.

    I had this same problem and after much thought and even ridicule by a fair amount of people, I chose to work on a new project. Rank 8 top is better then a nirvana top so meh i'll keep that but I really wanted a different weapon. In my own opinion, I see rank 9 as a waste and kills the gameplay on an archer. Sure others might argue it's THE best bow in the game and bla bla bla but why the hell do I want to be like every other archer? I say if you can still kill in open pk/tw then by all means, do what makes YOU happy. Will be giving my newly acquired TT nirvana bow a test drive this weekend if we have tw. So far I'm quite pleased with it in pk. If you have the cash to be different and don't mind damage similar to rank 8, then by all means get a nirvana bow. I also looked at the fact I could still get -int + purge/adv purge although I know the chances are slim at best but the fact that I love changing things around is perfect for me. I might settle with some atk lvl add on + like dex/crit or w.e. When I get bored of that I can save up and reroll some new stats. For my personal playstyle, my nirvana bow is perfect for me. It still takes some sort of skill to pvp with the shtty gear I have but I live for this challenge.

    ya im a chepo my self, and only went to 35k rank to get a half decent interval top to reach 5.0

    but now that i have my pangu, my sin is 4.0 and i can officially redo my archer for full pvp

    i know the top archers shard with attack +1 but they have the refines to back it up, seeing as im a non cash shopper and kinda lazy im not sure i could afford the +10 orbs to get there

    but i love the purge so much i could nvr lose it <3333

    Raw Damage wise.. Its pretty close btw rank8 9 and nirvana.

    Only difference is the atack lv n set bonus.. which makes the difference.

    I really doubt nirvana worth now a days.. Money spent on it get you almost the rank9 bow.

    nirvana bow 2nd cast again.. not worth <<

    You only be gettin a debuff that is superior to rank8.. But for the money of the helmet + bow. You get rank9 bow.

    Wait...I don't know how you can claim to be cheap and get Nirvana First Cast, because First Cast costs much more than R8...and unrefined R8 has similar weapon damage as First Cast +7, just look. Is Purge that important to you? If you need the damage and start to work on Second Cast down the line...well I think you're better off just going for R9 from the start :S

    R8 until you have enough for R9 is much better than First Cast until you have enough for Second Cast because R8 already does decent damage whereas First Cast sort of doesn't...by today's standards...

    Just go on a bow collecting spree.

    1st cast Nirv bow, TT and Lunar for looks.

    and get R9 for damage.

    While you're at it, I don't think anyone's gotten the xbows yet, someone should get on that. You can be like those people who collects guns or swords and puts it on display. In fact, they should make a weapon cycling button like how they cycle fashion.

    I have one of those. It's called filling my inventory with a bunch of weapons I hardly ever use, hotkeying them, and then QQing when I'm in the middle of a fight and push the wrong button.

    lmao was just thinking that and @ Q a friend and i were just saying i should get a nirvana xbow just for the looks lol. seriously thinking about it xD id rather spend my time collecting weapons anyway xD
