They really haven't figured it out, I guess.

Person spamming world chat selling Deicide claws with ..

WTS [*Deicide] C/O 100m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 110m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 115m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 130m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 160m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 170m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 180m pm me
WTS [*Deicide] C/O 170m pm me

Over the span of an hour.

It's strange how there's sellers who are this blatantly too dumb to understand that people know they are creating fake offers, not only by the increments they are increasing by, but because they also aren't saying who bid on them.

This was a tactic what, 2 years ago? Time to get more innovative guys..

Yea, gets pretty funny. Like they will bump the price up, then say its sold, then like 30 minutes later, they are trying to sell the same item again and make up so lame excuse, over and over. b:chuckle.

Displaying the player(s) name isnt a Rule. IIRC, WC isnt the Bidding Hall. ijs.

Was this for another topic? I don't think this one is about rules.

If it was meant for this topic, what you're saying is true, but 100% irrelevant.

no its not really irrelevant seeing as how she said you dont need to say the persons name in wc and quite frankly i dont say a persons name when someone asks me how much someone offered me. if they dont wanna go higher then its fine i still sell it to the person who offered me itl.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.

I'm not quite sure what your difficulty is, she said it's not against the rules. This topic is pointing something out, giving it light, attention, humorously discussing a selling tactic, not a serious discussion of the legality of pointing out the bidder while selling something. Obviously this is irrelevant. The first few posters seemed to get it.
if they dont wanna go higher then its fine i still sell it to the person who offered me itl.
Well then, just an FYI, depending on your selling tactic, there's a number of players who won't bid on an item when the price is more of an ambiguous nature to them if they don't see that the bidders are recognizable players.

I would advise anyone who prefers a bit more of honest bidding (especially not those economically inclined, whether RL and in-game or just in-game) not to bid on something without more trustworthy actions as this can only benefit those who like to artificially inflate prices, which is done quite often. In your case, you'd be more likely getting less of a profit, which is okay with me. That's indeed the point.

LOL! Everything you see in WC you have to take with a grain of salt. To people buying, I sure hope you know the prices of things or you will be buying over priced **** like those Deicides.

I've only ever bid on WC once, and that was for my cloud rider badge; luckily, seller was sincere and sold to me when no one else bid.

On the other hand, there are also fake-sellers, which is when you WC to buy something, you get a pm saying "okay" but no item in the end.

First time this happened to me, I was trying to buy Demon HF; at the time, only worth 45-55m max, but first pm asked for something like 75m-i said no 45m, and he agreed after. So I met him at ether as he said, i started the trade window and no book in sight; I had already put in the coins in window. He clicked confirm, and I knew something was up, and canceled. He said he needed the coins to buy from his friend for cheaper and sell to me after. As I left, he said "wait wait" started trade window again and put in a random NPC item. I left, cursed him out for wasting my time and he got angry with me (what an idiot). Honestly, who is dumb enough to get scammed like that? And for him to get angry at me? lol

The other time was a few days ago, I WC to buy love up/down | scroll of tome, I get some pms saying "okay" again. Due to the previous incident I told them to link it; they never did, and I blacklisted them for wasting my time, and to avoid future scams from them.

One time a guy said he'd give me 10k if he could put my name on a fake bid. The bid was incredibly fake and obvious, so I said no.

I don't really trust world chat in general, and definitely would never trust anyone who won't tell me the name of the bidder. If you're going to be running an auction, be upfront or gtfo imho. Then again I won't buy off of WC unless I already know the price in general.

One time I was selling a +12 Orb, and someone said he wanted to buy it, but didn't have the coin yet. He said he'd have to borrow coin from his friend. I said I would be willing to sell to him if I don't find a higher offer in the meantime.

He then asked that I don't state his name if I do the WC selling. This was because he was afraid of others not lending him coin when they see his name (thus eliminating him from the buying competition).

So, it was a case where the buyer did not want his name mentioned in World Chat. Thought that was odd.

Like the Scroll of Tome a catshop was selling for 600 million? Epic win. I think it was up at that price for 3 months.

Then it got dropped to 420 million. And stayed there for 3 more months.

Just because someone mentions the odds and ends of selling things does not mean it has anything to do with the rules or game legalities of things. You made a horrible presumption, time to move on as you were wrong.

There's a person on Dreamweaver who is ALWAYS trying to sell something using that tactic! LOL They claim they have 'mad merchanting skills'. My guildies & I laugh when we see them trying to sell stuff anymore. A couple weeks ago they had a Zeal; wasn't bad per say; but they sat there for 3 days; with the price going up & down; up & down. I kept saying to everyone on coms "If someone had REALLY offered them that much money, they'd of taken it & ran, they still wouldn't be here trying to sell it." It's just funny how slick some people think they are; when in all reality, they aren't. :D

I think I noticed something similar a few days ago. Something like 53/80 or close. Its "current offer" was 4mil, then steadily increased way passed 8mil I think, and they still had the nerve to ask "any higher??" when 8mil for that LP is a rip. It kept increasing for a bit, I went to go do something else and turned off WC, came back later and saw the same person trying to sell it again. Usually when that happens, it either meant the supposed bidder pulled out, or there were never such a bid. So sad.

The main reason why it was so suspicious is because such a genie isn't exactly that extraordinary, but the bids kept coming in every few secs. Why would people get so excited for that, and bids reaching OVER what the actual worth of the genie.
