Vortex whats the trick?

So I just learned my vortex skill so I went zhening, but I can't seem to hold the vortex for more then 3 sec or so. I start vortex, pot and then mp goes to 0 and it fails. Do you need a charm to vortex if not can I have some tips?

    Hehe yeh it uses an insane amount of mp, especially considering the tiny amount we have... The trick is to use Herb Yuanxiao which you can get at level 75 for 3 tokens per 50. Mp charm is also an option but I'm guessing that's more expensive...

    Pre lvl 75 you need minimum of 1600 mana pool. Aquired easily by a arcane head gear with some mana gems, or somthing along those lines. And an MP charm to keep it running, some assistance from lower level mana pots helps keep it from droping from lag or any verious other reasons.

    Post lvl 75 (or right at) You still need the same mana pool or a round about, but the mana pots purchased with tokens will be efficient enough to keep it running, just have to hammer em soon as CD is done.

    until lvl70 you can use the Mana regeneration, I recommend the 100 MP per second,
    and the 6000/9000 Mana in 10 seconds Pharma Pots.
    Use the 6000/9000 MP Pots right before you start Vortex

    Your advice big FAILURE . Here is why:

    1.Mana Regeneration you mentioned in combat regen only 1/4 of normal capacity aka 25mp/sec. Vortex on other hand uses 289+ mp/1.5sec at lvl 1!! so before giving any fail advices learn plz game beforehand.

    2.6000/9000 pots are past lvl 70

    +1 .. tested myself it burns mp to fast u need charm + pots under lv 70 and if u lag => fail <.<

    ever tried it out?
    its worked for me, with a MP Charm I was able to maintain Vortex for about a Minute, and in the first
    10 seconds My mana never went below 80%

    I know that the MP/HP Regeneration dropped to 1/4 during fights
    the Main Reason beyond this is. The Regeneration powders lasts 10 Minutes
    thats 25 Mp / second
    The other Pharmapots are "healing" Mana and last 10 seconds so in the case
    of the 6000MP Pots you regain 600 Mana per second.
    And if you need more then 10 seconds to kill your Mobs with Vortex
    you are either doing something wrong or just a fail.

    No i was using vortex for zhen so ofc I need it for more then 10 sec :P
