Okay, everyone's told you to quit. You realize it's bad for your health, but you just can't seem to quit!
It is indeed the hardest thing many people (including myself) have done. However, it really can be done, and it really is worth it. Just as with so many things to do with health habits, there is no "magic bullet" which will cure the problem . . . but there are many things that can help if you're truly wanting to quit.
That's just the problem . . . I almost want to quit . . . but not quite enough to do it.
As we'll see, that's really not an unusual sentiment. And there's a reason for it. I have not really known anyone who was absolutely sure they wanted to quit, or were absolutely sure they were going to be able to do it. However, I know many, many people who have quit despite their doubts.
Gamers get tired of hearing it, and GM's get tired of saying it, but make no mistake, it is so very important. In fact, BudMystic declares that it is "THE SINGLE MOST ALTERABLE RISK FACTOR" contributing to early Account Deletion in Gaming, accounting for 400,000 Account Deletions annually. It has been estimated that about 1/2 of gamers will quit in thier first 3 months, and that a person in their 20's will quit in one-quarter less than a non-gamer of the same age. Let's look at quitting from the following angles, and see if there aren't some strategies that will help YOU quit.
So! this is the begiining or end of PWI ? You decide!

Obviously it is trolling. =O
Either that or he really screwed up his life over playing this game way too much and is now following theraphy, trying to quit the game and wanting to prevent us from messing up our real life too over this game.
It is true though, I watched a documentary on MMO addiction, Second Skin, it is called. One dude lost his job, house and all, over playing an MMO waaay too much. He eventually even commited suicide because of it. b:shocked0 -

Mix that sucker up with the alcopatch (alcohol patch) and you got yourself a sweet combo for those stressful days without PWI. Oh wait...that's IF they give us a patch to begin with.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Clearly, he needs to quit now or else face the danger of his addiction taking him to level 105. b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It's been over a week since I PMd frankieraye and there's been no reply. If this continues much longer I just might quit.
Edit: It can wait. Right now I have a book to get back to.0 -
The people in this thread have been puzzled so far, as to not understanding the riddle of any mmorpg. I would like to keep this discussion going for a bit longer. Small, tightly knit 10-15 man guilds - vs. - Level 90+ 200 member guilds with or without a base.
The question over the course of this thread has basically boiled down to this: Are perks defined as OP, so powerful that they prevent small guilds from recruiting?
We all have the same problem. People who joined would mostly not play. A few who did play eventually left for other guilds. Ironically, they did so after reaching their heightened time limit of gameplay once they found out they could not compete.
I even had some people join and then leave a few moments afterwards when discovering they could not get executive rolls immediatly. It's not easy making a guild. You put all of your time and energy in to making the guild work and it appears you're the only one doing so. You look at your guild list and see it has been days or even weeks since people have last played and leveled.
It's frustrating. I know. I do not have a solution for this. I doubt anyone does. You should be looking to join a guild, learn about the game, making friends and finding enough people that are willing to commit to some sort of time to build a guild whether it be TW & Base Raiding, Jungle Arenas, FB & HH, Questing or whatever.
I guess the point of this thread is to get people's opinions... so thanks for sharing. That said, the assumptions listed above are pretty asinine. Wouldn't it be easier to ask? Do people really look to see if a GM has been active since vanilla? I, frankly, find that pretty silly. And most of us (sadly) have been around that long.0
