Catshop Blocked?

I'm having a bit of a problem with my catshop. Someone has been continually parking their mammoth on top of it, blocking the shop from view and rendering it unclickable. Sure, I can move, but within minutes they're back on top of me.

Is there anything I can do besides devoting both clients to shops, and splitting inventory between the two? b:surrender

Get someone in your guild who has a razor sting to park on the mammoth. The flapping wings on their screen will drive them nuts.

I have actually done this before... Someone parked on my catshop. I moved. They moved. I grabbed my Barb with Razorsting, parked on the mammoth. They left after a few minutes...

I asked a factionmate to join in and park at 90 degrees so there were wings in the screen no matter which way you looked...

Another thing you can do is find their faction leader, or a marshal from their faction, and talk to them. If they are in a ****ty faction, then just have your faction jump in and help.

I have to admit that I occasionally block catshops too, usually when they try to scam people, like selling a genie exp cube with 4 exp left. I usually leave after a few minutes, though.

OP: Have you checked your merchandise? Maybe there is something that looks like a scam? If you're not trying to scam people, have you tried to take screenshots and submit a ticket?

Screen shot it and move, then screen shot and move and do it again, then submit the tickets. b:laugh

On a related note, you cannot have 2 catshops on simultaneously, according to the new multi-clienting rules.

It also means that someone can't or doesn't want to beat your prices, so yours is probably the lowest on the server. Instead of buying them from you and reselling them for more, some people prefer more anti-social ways of competing. They can't block more than one catshop though.

Take a few screenshots, open a ticket to support, attach the screenshots to the ticket explaining what's going one, sit back enjoying the thought of that player eventually getting banned or warned. Hopefully banned.

I can see your shop and It's obvious why someone is doing that to you. I guess you have two options:

    1. Take some screen shots and send in a ticket

    2. Stop being a noob merchant and undercutting the 5 other shops selling the same item as you by 1000 coins. You will actually make a lot less money doing this anyway as you will drive down the price and will most likely get screwed over in AH trying to buy more gold by a merchant who knows the gold market much better then you.

Uh... The OP can see their items at whatever price they wish to sell them at. If they wish to undercut a market, it's their choice. If you are losing profit, then it's your problem, not the OP's. Most likely, the OP will sell out quickly, then people will be forced to buy from the other 5 catshops. So stop QQing. >_>

On the other hand, using a large mount to block a shop means that you may get banned, or worse, a bad name, which suddenly removes competition from the market, and drives prices up.

I wouldn't bother sticking a mount over another person’s catshop because yes you're right if they have under priced their items they will sell out quickly. Or I will buy their items and resell. Or even better I will buy their items follow them to the AH then buy gold right after them and keep the gold market high for a bit while I sell.

What I'm trying to point out to the new merchants is that undercutting in most cases means lower profits. But keep doing it I don’t care I’m rich

Screenshot multiple times of them blocking your catshop and send in a report ticket. Intentional catshop blocking is a bannable offense as it is labeled as harassment.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate all of them.

To Berlesk: Yes, I'm new and very inexperienced with merchanting. When I started, all of the shops appeared very overpriced compared to gold value, so it seemed natural to undercut. Now that sales slowed and prices lowered quite a bit, I can see I'm probably only hurting myself. I do usually sell out fast, but the profit margin is getting tiny now. Thanks for the insight.

To everyone suggesting I send a ticket: Will do, I already have screenshots from multiple days with several occurrences a piece. Wasn't sure if it was considered harassment or just poor sport. (Albeit ticketing isn't my usual response to issues. Sarrafeline, I love the razor sting idea. :P )

perhaps a decoy catshop with only a few items, and then another account with your main sales stuff nearby

obviously only works if you can run 2 clients at once

Undercutting has both pros and cons. I suggest being flexible with the mindset with regards to whether or not undercutting is a good thing or a bad thing.
