Nirvana

What are the recommended stats to run nirvana with maybe 1 other DD and a cleric?

Essentially, what do I need (HP and def-wise) to tank nirvana? And later down the line, what do I need to solo it?

I've only ever done it on a cleric, so idk what I'll need.

Are you ****? I have one of every class past 7x on harshlands, a 100 mage, and this character.

I'm asking for a legitimate response, not your asinine assumptions.

I'm asking because my roommate has a 100 cleric and I'm hoping we can run nirvana just the two of us when I get 100 and 5 aps.

@Korrok, I guess once you pass over 10k HP you're gonna be pretty safe. Below, well, depends on defenses and skill/genie skills, charm, etc.
Ofc, you can also solo, but I think duo with a BM is a much better alternative.

Sounds good. I'm looking at almost 8k once I hit 100 and get my gear up to date, so I'll likely bring my roommate along to heal slave for a while. Maybe a clawcher or something too. Thanks. :)

Solo'ing nirvana is not quite as easy as it sounds.

There are bosses in there that hit hard, and frequently, so make sure your cleric is one with decent heals/response time.

Also you're going to want a rather high pdef, mdef isn't as much of a concern and as a sin, unless you have r8 top and an interval tome, you will have pdef ornaments anyway.

With a cleric and demon(or sage) bm buff, you'll want at least 8k+ pdef.

Also if you're not a pure DD sin (pure dex, all DoTs), you'll probably find the runs will take a while.

You mentioned you got a cleric with you, so I assume it's a duo.

I've seen squishy 5k hp unbuffed archers tank it, depends on cleric. If your sin will have 8k unbuffed you should be fine.

However, do you know that you need 6 ppl in squad all +100lvl with nirv keys to open nirvana?

I didn't actually know that about the openers but I can probably find people willing to come help me open in-faction.

Considering that the keys are actually worth something (if you use yours to open someone else's run, you will lose money as you can't do your own run), it might be pretty hard to find someone to give theirs to you for free.

And while Typh's comment was totally unnecessary, I think that's what he was referring to.

I am fairly sure it is going to be hard, since a lot of ppl collect their nirv keys. If you collect 99, you can get a special quest, that will give you 10 canies + an extra boss at the end of dungeon that drops 2 raptures (4 during x2drops).

I'm still pretty sure I can find some casters who likely won't use their keys to help me open for a small fee.

Thank you guys for all the replies, good to have a goal to strive for.

Another problem you might encounter is that you have to kill some bosses fast, for example the boss that you have to kill all the foxes at once, if you don't kill the boss fast enough he has an AOE that will one shot you b:surrender

I think 5k hp is a minimum to have for vana. Just cause of exploding black/white wings, runner boss, poison etc. Below 5k you can die pretty easily. Once you pass 5k hp and like 3.5k def unbuffed, you should be able to tank it. I don't know really for soloing, cause that depends if you want to use hp food, buffs from others and charm, or if you consider soloing only selfbuffs without relying on hp food besides emergency. Also the refine on your weapon etc would come into account just for bp heals.

To really solo vana you will probably need to pay the ppl, even casters or ppl that barely ever vana. They loose money on giving you keys, cause they could save them and do 99 key quest on 2x giving them 10 cannies and 2 raps (considering a 50/50 split) togather with normal squad share. If you pay them, you might come out poorer then you entered. Besides for the lolz of saying "I solo'ed vana" I don't really see a reason to do it. Having 2 friends, and all 3 have 2 lvl100+ on seperate accounts on the other hand is interesting.

I dunno I think Empu hit it on the mark there, I'm just touching the 6k range with **** p.def and I don't have issues tanking him when a cleric is with me. Key here being that you need a cleric.

If you've got a charm though and you wannna solo by the literal definition of ALONE no one else in squad, gonna need a charm and serious refines on the weap and orns. I'm guessing you don't have an interval tome otherwise I'd just suggest going sage 4aps and getting that beautiful 25% reduction every 3rd spark to cut down on costs.

Carrying an OhSht apothecary item is a good idea too for actual soloing, there are always unexpected times where an ironguard or dew of star protection(thnk that's the name) will or would have fixed the situation.

If you want an easier solo tbh, make a lvl 100 bm and get him to 5aps, then 1hr bp buff him. AND FOR GODS SAKE USE PHYSICAL MARROW, I can't tell you how many stupid *** bm's I've seen that can't play for sht, I mean c'mon it's one of your earliest friggen skills.

All the casters I know keep getting the keys daily to get the 99 key quest, since it's difficult for them to find a vana squad. So them using their keys to open for you is a waste for them, even if it is a faction mate helping you out.

You'll most likely need to pay them, as Empu has stated.

And if you're duoing with the cleric, make sure you bring along a lunar bow (Heaven Shatterer). It helps a lot for the 2nd boss.

Also please do note you require a party of 6 to start the damn place and NOBODY is gonna waste their personal time to fly/port to NV to help open it and NOT stay.

Lol while it's not particularly always cost efficient, you people saying that NOBODY will do so is quite funny considering people on HT sell keys for opening at 100-150k ea quite often.

    99x100,000 = 9,900,000

    2 rapts 1.75mea = 3,000,000
    10 canny 450ea = 4,500,000

Unless you're only keying 99 during 2x that's profit right there, I know this is going to sound rude but since a few of you can't respond w/o flaming maybe you should spend some time playing the game and less time burning your QQ off on the forums. (and maybe I should spend more time looking at post dates b:laugh)

@ Sneakret : Ofc there are ppl that do sell and it's rather easy for them to determine the value of their key. But I'd rather say that it's not really worth it for the one who pays the others to come open. Even if awesome gear and such, it will be quite a bit longer. You will have to run (aoe boss, circles, queen), kill blackwing, do chests, etc (I don't think anyone solo could kill fast enough not to have to do those things). You will also have to find those ppl, wait for them, pay them... Also higher repairs, pots and charm.

So, wouldn't it be more efficient to simply lvl a 2nd sin on same account to 100 fast to have more keys per day and do squad runs? On long term I think it would be more efficient to have 8 sins with 3 daily keys on 1 account and do 5~10min runs, then solo 3 keys a day.

Sorry Emp that wasn't directed at you, and yes but since he asked directly I figured I'd just answer. Running with just 2 or 3 people that each have a 100 alt and splitting that way is cheaper on repairs and still makes for good time management.

@Skai lol I'm sorry that sucks, RT was still building up though when HT server was already farming like mad so it's to be expected I suppose. Give it a while and it'll probably end up in the same price bracket eventually.

@ Sneakret : ^^ nothing to be sorry about. Personally I gave up on soloing everything. Since my gear is already epic, I rather spend time in squads and don't really look for the most $/time efficient way to vana. Last day we did a run with a bm, me, (normal vit build) barb, wizzie and 2 clerics. I think many would instantly leave a squad like that lol. But I confirm, a 3 man squad can be really good. Especially if the alts are good for buffs. For instance a veno + sin + bm squad with cleric + barb + mystic alts to open would be really epic.
