I see this... Often now. Someone will be selling an item, service, or something else on World Chat, and they will put 'whisper me fast', or 'pm me fast' at the end. Usually, it's for something stupidly over priced, worthless, really expensive, common, or that just plain is stupid.

Does this ever work? Can I like... buy a Midnight Black off AH for 500k, and resell one on WC for 5m this way? Seriously? I'm asking since, every time I see someone put those little three words on the end of their for sale ad on WC, it makes me pull my hand away from the keyboard, and instead of respond to them that I'm interested, I go straight to AH to see if the same item is available cheaper (an, 90% of the time, it is! I've found the same item available in AH for up to half the price! Imagine that!).

Then... There's the silly people that WC 'Selling Scroll of Tome, 490m, whisper me fast!' over, and over, and over, and over, all day long. If someone was going to be expedient about spending 490 mil on an SoT, which is... around 190m more expensive than most people are even willing to spend, they would have reacted ~4 hours ago, genius.

This is a silly QQ thread. But it has a valid point. If you are trying to genuinely sell something, and something really expensive at that, on WC, you need to watch your wording, especially if you are spamming it repeatedly.

Oh, and the same goes for looking for squads. 'BH59 squad looking for barb whisper me fast', are you ****ing kidding me? You will die of old age before you get a Barb on the first whisper. Try 'BH69 squad looking for barb whisper me some time this century'.

    Always have wc off the stupidity there goes beyond any limits, but have seen that on local chat spams, maybe it is a selling "strategy" and someone who doesn`t know prices of items (doesn't check AH) may get "scammed."

    ROFL all too true. Makes me laugh every time I see one of those. I very much doubt that they work, but not having tried I can't say for certain!

    Like I wonder why people say "PM me fast, last tele!", as if I am going to buy it just because you just used your last tele.

    Con-men, who are usually psychopaths, have and will always be around and always try anything to cheat people out of their money or property. They have no shame, remorse or guilt and even if they have a lot of people cussing and condemning them they'll continue until someone takes the bait. Even if > 99.98% of all players would not be fooled, if the scammers keep at it, they'll eventually get one sucker/idiot who will fall for it. To the scammers, cheating someone for an extra 190 million even after many hours of spamming and receiving lots of insultive complaints is well worth it. Normally they won't stop until they get banned....but then they'll just create another dummy account to sacrifice.

    Whisper fast or last tele or whatever are just sales tactics used to create a sense of urgency.

    People that WC over and over on an over-priced item are just using the laws of averages, if they are overcharging by 150 million I guess they don't care a bout wasting 300k in tele's

    meh I only use "pm me fast" if i need to buy something asap and im short on cash. usually when i do this i either sell something for its normal price or below (or sometimes super cheap) since i hate asking to borrow any amount of cash no matter how short itd be for. im an impatient guy lol my downfall Q_Q

    When I used to play about a year and a half ago, I actually didn't see much comments in WC about selling stuff or squads. Mostly there was just some random chit chat going on which half of the time was actually amusing to follow.

    Though now all I see are people WTB/WTS stuff or looking for squads. . _ .


    (I thought there was some Trade chat for selling and buying stuff?)

    It are mostly selling techniques indeed. Even though they don't work on everyone, they do work on some people(dun ask me how idiotic they are, but meh)

    Anyway, selling stuff by using world chat is what I do too when I have more expensive stuff to sell. I don't want to drop it in ah and get screwed over again by a fee. (+I usually sell it lower then the lowest I saw around anyway >.>)

    And yes, there is trade chat, but that's only locally visible > less people will see it and less likely to get good offers/people bidding up against eachother.

    Yeah, I've sorta noticed the psychopath tendencies of some people in this game. >_> There's one in particular... Actually, that comes to mind... Was running a catshop scam, impersonated a faction leader, threatened another player with direct physical harm, and caused a huge fight on WC, oh, 5 or 6 times. After NUMEROUS screenshots were submitted, no ban was ever given.

    I've also noted that the people who are like this tend to group together.

    I thought Trade was global.

    Trade chat is 99% full of complete spam, so, it's possible that most people have it turned off completely. I use the trade chat window to filter everything but normal chat out. Normal chat is for normal and world chat. Squad chat is for squad and local. Faction chat is for squad and faction chat. Whisper is for Whisper chat only. And whispers show up in every chat window except trade.

    Anyway... Trade chat tends to be even less moderated than WC, which... Isn't moderated at all, it seems. It's pretty useless. Nobody sells or buys anything using it. Most people spam the HELL out of it looking for squad, if they use it at all, and alternate local and trade. >_>
