Fashion colors change per computer

I was wondering why the colors of fashion vary so much depending on the computer you are on, and if there is a way to tell what color the fashion really is? I'm curious because I am selling some fash that is red (on my screen) and when someone asked the price, they said I was overcharging for orange fashion. They were quite rude with the name calling after that when I wouldnt lower the price, but that got me curious as to what color the dress actually is.
What color is this to you? Thanks

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -
Looks reddish orange to me but definitely not pure red.0

rgb(192, 48, 16)
Which to me, looks like a burgundy color.
well tbh would have to see the dress on your char.
^ this too.0 -
I know its not pure red, but to me its a darkish red color. The other girl said it was bright orange. Give me a minute and i'll find a pic of it on my character[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That is definitely an Orange more than it is a red. #C03010 or RGB: 192, 48, 16 is a warm toned Orange shade (as oppose to a cool toned Orange, i.e. #ff6633 or RGB: 255, 102, 51). It could go as Orange-Red, but I would definitely say its an Orange by definition.
Seems like you might need to calibrate your computer monitor to get as accurate of a result color wise.

Here is a picture of it on my alt. It is at night, but the day time color is the same as where it looks lighter in the picture

Orange.
I can see the "Brick" colour people might get from it, but youd need a pretty dim screen...0 -
Looks red on my Dell 1920X1080 monitor. Looks orange on my Korean pile of **** monitor.
In the end, it comes down to telling the buyer to go try to scam someone else out of money. You can set the sell price, if they aren't willing to pay it, then they don't have to buy it.
When someone offered me 600k for a set of TT60 daggers, I told them 'no'. I tried the next day, same person offered me 600k again. I said 'I changed my mind, I'll just decompose these instead', and I did. Now I have TT70 Daggers. Those daggers had 2 sockets, +4 refine, and two Flawless Garnets in them. Maybe an unsharded, single socket, unrefined TT60 dagger is worth 600k, but not those. I'm not gonna waste my time with lowballers anymore.
And it sounds, OP, like you got a lowballer.101 Sage Sin*/Archer
100 Demon BM*/Barb
96 Demon Cleric/Sage Seeker
95 Demon Wiz/
94 Sage Veno
85 Psy/80 Mystic
And a handful of other alts, all 79 and under.

It is highly recommended that you calibrate your monitors. Here's how to calibrate your monitor for LCD monitors - if your monitor is different, Google monitor calibration and follow the instructions (there are hundreds of websites that allow you to efficiently calibrate your monitor to perfection).

there are 3-4 necroed threads that are still open and we see there are mods online so why are these necroed threads still open? b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Because we would like to assist a member of the community in resolving their issue and calibrating their monitor to prevent this from happening again. That is a higher priority according to me. b:thanks

lol. Your monitor isn't lying, you just don't know how to properly calibrate your monitor. I guess you don't do graphics for a living.... And if you actually do, you should have one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Pantone-MEU113-huey-Pro/dp/B000OFC1YY/I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
Not that I have any idea of whether my monitor is callibrated correctly or not, nor do I particularly care, but the color I see looks like ketchup. Not a dark brick red, nor the thick red of blood, but red with just a... hint of orange. A smidgen. A dash. A pinch. You get the gist. Looks great on your character though, why are you even selling it?

BTW, Michael_Dark, I'm sure you think you are rather clever googling a calibration card and posting the link here. So pro!
Did you take a look at the reviews for that particular product? Has a history of defects that cause it to make things shaded too pink? No, I suppose you didn't... and if you personally use that calibration device, what sort of arrogance would bring you to suggest somebody would 'have' to have that particular device?
Bah.
Furthermore, you are again assuming too much when you imply that Myralis HASN'T calibrated her monitor. Anybody doing graphical work (assuming mediocre or better intelligence) would already have their monitor adjusted to show colors properly.
And finally, different monitors, differences in eyesight, differences in lighting, and even differences in how we define colors (what is 'brick red' to one person may be 'orange-red' to another, etc etc) will change how we see and describe colors.
I know you are smart, but insulting people without a proper basis for your accusation just isn't gonna fly.

If you say something is "red" or "white" in the game you are specifically referring to the pure dyed versions of those colors.
This is important with fashion sets as even small differences of colors are pretty noticeable when you are wearing several items together. The pure versions of those colors are quite a bit more valuable than the random slightly off variants. Item linking makes having to be truthful about the color not as important as it once was.
To be truthful you'd have to call that "near red" or that it "looks red". To me though it looks more like some kind of dark orange. Real red is very bright.

Still doesnt make any sense.... Assuming all the other 30 pcs didnt show such a great difference in colour lol Im gonna admit that I never bothered with 100% fine adjustments but... meh.
Ah well, ty for the links, might help getting that stupid laptop of friend to show a color thats actually there lol
And in the end it doesnt even matter. Cause even if your monitor is 100% fine, there will at least a hundred other people telling you its a different colour lol[SIGPIC][SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

1 in 12 people have some sort of color deficiency. About 8% of men and 0.4% of women in the US.
Pretty much, 1 out of every 12 guys is red-green colorblind, so I think instead of per computer, fashion colors change per person. >___>0 -
@Azzazin- Because that is my alt (I used the fash on my main, just didnt have a picture) and I got new fash for her. Trying to raise money for other stuff I want and I dont really need the dress anymore.. but i'm gonna miss it T_T Lol[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

@Everyone who was saying things about how each person sees it differently- I know that was a factor as well, but awhile ago I had to play the game on a different computer when my normal one was having issues, and between the two there were some color variations so I know its not "Just" different between different people. Again, thanks for your help everyone[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
