"Arcane" barbs??!

ok, im not writing this to diss anyone, or start a fight, but i really want to get an answer to a question, of something i've seen mentioned here and there, and, of course, seen running round City of the Lost and Broken Bridge.

what the heck are those barbs doing, running around in arcane gear? and do they actually go on wearing it, with full knowledge of how it affects the playstyle intended for their race? i've helped a few new and confused players in my time, showing them what the difference is, and, if they are around BB, sometimes outfitting them in proper gear and weapons. but with people nowadays switching weapons that properly belong to other races (though, i have to admit, what the heck is a human doing with claws, unless he is the X Men's Wolverine! claws should have been built in as a barb weapon by the game creators, i think), its very strange. if someone wants to play with a specific weapon, why not just start that race?

if a barb decides to go arcane, how do they survive? what weapons can they use, since they cant use magic ones,and likely dont have enough stats to use the barb's usual hammers or axes?

like i said, im not trying to diss anyone's build...just trying to understand the reasoning behind it.

    I don't see a logical way for an Arcane Barb to work. And yes, it is usually a troll build or something of the similar.

    Try make an arcane barb on PWI Calc, with a cata barb type build. Sure you would need lots of money but it works b:chuckle

    Poison Fang works on human form, so you can equip a magical weapon and buff yourself to have a +30% (+50% if demon) wood damage per hit. It's not needed since you can get 5aps, but I've seen a friend tank a physical immune boss using this

    Let me give you an alternative view that *might* makes more sense.

    First lets understand a few fundamental in builds

    To use

    Axe - 300 str 60 dex
    HA - 252 str 54 dex
    AA -54 str 153 mag
    Sign of Frost - +phy def

    Love up and down

    Strength +13
    Dexterity +13
    Vitality +12
    Magic +13
    Critical Hit Rate +1%
    Channelling -1%
    Interval Between Hits -0.05%

    Energetic robe
    Strength +7
    Dexterity +6
    Vitality +7
    Magic +7
    Interval Between attack -0.05 sec

    and of cuz Barb's innate ability of vit granting more HP+phydef&magicdef then other class
    and rank 8 armor of barb requiring no str/dex requirement.

    My builds in sig are actually fine, its keeping me interested in playing the game.. and working my gears.
